  1. I don't see the prices going lower, the only way you would pick one up in the $70k's is a high km example, I know of a few that were bought in this range but for 2016 they had 80,000-90-000 kms. Not a bad option as 100,000 kms is just breaking in the engine on a Lexus 2UR 😃

Production concluded is total amount of GSF's sold in Oz is 141, so its likely prices will decline slowly until they fall into hands of enthusiast and they will start to climb.

Look at the ISF for an example.

  2. Sorry for the lag on a reply. As you would of noticed Oz Lexus Forums aren't very activity at all. I would suggest using Club Lexus.com or Lexus Owners UK both sites are used daily and often get a quick reply.

RC F and ISF offer different things, the ISF feels more raw and apparently drivers feel more connected with the car. Of course it was more practical advantageous being 4 doors.

The RC F Oz models all come with TVD which can make a ordinary driver look pretty damn good, if you are a seasoned driver you would argue you would prefer the ISF as it have less curb weight and feels less heft when smashing it around a track. The PRO of the RC F is the interior is updated and doesn't feel like you are back in the mid 2000's plus you are going to get more value for money on the RC F as ISF being discontinued and are mostly in the hands of enthusiast, the car has a big "Bro Tax" on a car in good condition.

Any one else up for another group buy?

If you jump on FB group ISF/RCF/GSF Club Australia there is a post with a few people wanting to do a group buy on Novel headers, so far there is 4 people!

    thanks buddy,...

looks quite neat..!!! i bet would look OEM too if you repaint the bracket black and run black hoses.

I'll put an order for the catch cans

Yes, if you paint bracket black and order the Coil Pneumatic in black it would be steath upgrade.

Before you order hit up the gents Rafi & Simon from RR Racing as they were introducing new colors for hosing. I looked into the black hosing and Coil Pneumatic don't deal direct to consumers and all available alternatives online are metric and not imperial so too small by a couple of mm.

Can you show me a photo of your install? is it failry easy to do or any modifcaitons required?

the RR website says you have to modify the engine cover to fit the catch cans?

The install of the bracket and catch can itself is simple and will only take 10 minutes.

At the beginning I debated trimming the engine cover, considering its so nice why would you hack at it, it doesn't make sense. I researched and plenty of RC F owners install the bracket inverted making the catch can sit lower in the engine bay creating clearance with the engine cover. No trimming required!

It did install it this way, easy enough to do, the catch can will sit snug up against the cable & aluminum piping. The challenge with this set up is, it takes several attempts at angling the catch can correctly to fit it within the tight space and bolt into the bracket ie: pain in the butt and grazed knuckles and fingers. This would be fine if you only street drive your car as you would only be emptying catch can every 6-8 months, so no drama.

I on the other hand drive my "F" like it should be driven, hard and hit the drag & track occasionally so need easy access to drain the catch can.

See photos of trimmed cover, I managed to get a straight cut with a metal cutting blade and a file.

Does it work and how much oil gets accumulated in the catch can?

Definitely worth the investment. Since I installed I have had less than 1,000 kms and it's almost a quarter full. Its daily driven and attended one F drive day.

I think all Aus delivered RCF comes with TVD and nearly fully optioned comparted to oversea models. The Aus options are different wheels and carbons upgrade.

As for plans, probably aesthetics mods (front lips, side skirts and rear diffuser) and upgrade coilovers and brake pads. Will likely do track days 3-4 times per year. Not chasing records or be the fastest.

Happy to have a bit of fun in it.....

    Sounds like a good approach.

    TVD or Torsen ?

What are your plans on the car? Are you Sydney based?

    Thanks Jaylexen for your reply....

Have you changed brake fluids for track duties?

If we are going to the track and are going to hit it hard I would go and change it to something high grade (track/racing) dot 4 fluid such as Motul 660 or Project Mu G Four 335.

If you are going to hit a hard lap even alternate you would get away with stock dot 4.

    Hi guys,

    Another query regarding the RCF.

I know everyone's situation is different when it comes to insuring their RCF because of so many variables to consider.

Just want to know which company you guys insure your RCF with and why did you chose them as your insurer.

i've been doing the usualy, Shannons, AAMI, Allianz etc and they range between 1900 to 2200 for 39 year old, clean history and garage at work and home.

You are correct in saying the premium algorithm differs for everyone with large variances in premiums. It helps to shop around with all the main insurance companies and calculate using the flexi premium tool to find the ideal balance of additional excess and annual premium, there is a sweet spot where if you gone beyond it, you are paying more on excess with little reward on reducing annual fees further.

I am with AAMI live in Sydney (inner city) where my premium is $1,300. The reason I got this so cheap is I have enlisted a trusted family member (female & senior) to be the policy holder even know I am the RCF's owner.

Hi guys, looking at getting back into another Lexus.

I've noticed some rcf comes with black or orange brake calipers. Are there performance difference between them or just for aesthetics. The vintage I'm looking at is 2015 and 2016.

The red coloured are reserved for carbon ceramic brakes and for later models.

    Thanks in advance

2014/2015 is black & 2016 onward is orange with the exception of the mentioned track edition which is red. You wouldn't see many of them on the road due to very limited numbers.

All RC F's come with Brembo 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rears which is more than enough for street driving and will hold up nicely around the track for about 15-20 minutes sessions provided you are murdering each lap!

As far as Sydney sider goes, the most recommended dealers for servicing are:

    1. Chatswood Lexus

    2. Sydney City Lexus

See my newbie post, Question 5

    http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11298

And the MODs will probably make you aware of the "Search" function, try it! It rocks!!!!!!

Don't go to Sydney City Lexus.

Coming from a customer of 6 years - previously use to be good. The service department don't care about questions, not pro-active, forget what you have told them.

This dealership plays the volume game and all advisors are CRAP!!!!

    Head to Chatswood or Sutherland.

    Hi all,

I am listing a set of 19" Lexus RCF wheels with Falken Fk452 fronts and Bridgestone Re050a rears

I bought these wheels with the intention of fitting them to my Lexus GS350 F sport. Unfortunately, the fitment is too close for comfort (3.3mm of clearance between the rim and suspension) and have since sold the car. I have an ISF now and have decided to go aftermarket in the near future as a result I have no use for them.

I need to clear these parts before I purchase new wheels and exhaust as I'm running out of garage space to store parts.

A quick glance on Club Lexus in the US, they seem to fit the ISF's with the 255/275 tyre set up (I'm not too sure whether you'd need to roll the guards or not).

Here are some quick specification of the wheels:
Front: BBS hand polished forged alloy 19" x 9" +50 with 225/40/19 Falken Fk 452 (decent tread) - Probably need to get wider front tyres as the 225 are a bit too narrow for these rims.
Rear: BBS hand polished forged alloy 19" x 10" +41 with 255/35/19 Bridgestone Re050a (decent tread)

My understanding from the guy I bought this off, the rims themselves (not tyres) have been on an RCF for 2-3k km before they were taken off and replaced with larger wheels. There is a small 1.5cm curb mark and scuff on the passenger front rim. Other than that, the wheels are in great shape.

  14. Hi,

I have had my RCF for one month, I am having trouble with the infotainment system “media” for playing music.

    For example:

When using system with music “on” selected on USB/Bluetooth shutting down the car, you would expect the system to resume the selected setting as when the system was shut down.

The system is in “off” position and upon switching on the system will automatically be on disc.

I had have tried to download Club Lexus forums latest update for 2015 RCF but isn’t recognized by AUD RCF.

Can anyone help, here is my system

Looking for advice if anyone has gotten any nice exhaust mods on is350

Looking for nicer sound and bit more power ?

    Cheers in advance

You wont get more power but the exh note can be changed in many ways.

I disagree. You will gain a few kw from cat back exhaust if increase diameter of pipe. The biggest gains are from headers and high flow cats. For a start I would go cat back and remove secondary cats. This will yield a small kw gain. I use to drive a FBO 350 that was dynometered before and after so it does help with more kw.
