has anyone had problems with the Apple Iphone, where the person your talking to only hears every 3rd word or so, breaks up non stop, BUT you can hear them fine?
I thnk that might be a problem with the iphone rather than the car. It hapens to me infrequently in the car but it also happens to my friend a lot more who also has an iphone but a different car.

Are you changing em again?
Are you sticking with 18's ? What are you thinking of getting or have you already got a new set?
They are for a friend. I have them on my car already and he likes them and wants a set.
Can you send me you number and we can arrange something. I am located nearby and would pick them up asap.

Whereabouts are the you?
If you're in or around Sydney I might be interested...

Rocket Industries in Huntingwood, should set you back around $100 or so.

The link didn't work for me. Isn't that TSIB from the USA?
So yours is getting done and you only had to mention the startup rattle?
I reckon I've heard it a couple of times with mine, but not sure if I imagined it due to doors closed and radio on. I'll try startups with the door open for a while to see if I notice anything.
Trust me if you have the rattle you won't need to have the door open.
Mine does it infrquently but last time it did it, I had a Lexus Service Manager in the car, so mine is getting fixed tomorrow.

I have a question, the shipping is $900 or so dollars and how long does it take to get from the US to Australia?
-
Yeah there are no clips on the passenger side but the mat seems to fit quite well in the footspace so it doesn't move around.
I don't think there is a rear mat that comes with the hump mat, I had one on my IS200 as well.
Niick, How dirty to the light mats get? I would like the lighter interior in my new car but I am wondering how hard it is to keep it clean?

Also guy's what tyres do you suggest going for as alternatives. So far I have the Dunlop Sports Maxx as an option. Costs are:
WHEELS FRONT - Front Tyres $690 - Dunlop SP Sport Max 225/40/18
WHEELS REAR - Rear Tyres $1,060 - Dunlop SP Sport Max 255/40/18
I don't want to compromise on ride quality, but I am sure there are equally good tyres out there for cheaper ?? or am I in the wrong here? What do you guys think?
I have those tyres on mine and they are great. I know some of the Sports IS250's come with Yokohama tyres you might want to have a look at those as well, unfortunately with the staggered fitting wheels you are always limited in choice. I had the same problem when I changed the wheels on my car.

There isnt much difference between 17s and 18s, i'd just save the money and get 19s.
Anyone know how much the Aurion TRD 19s go for :)
Yeah but which 19's? there really isn't a lot out there with the staggered fitting rear vs front wheels that the IS250 comes with. I suppose if you go to somewhere like Tempe Tyres or the like you might pick up a set but I have seen way too many IS250's lately with ugly wheels.
The only other wheels I liked apart from the ones U purchased were BBS wheels but they only came in 18's and where over $1K more and not that much nicer to warrant spending over $5K on wheels.

I was thinking about getting HIDs on my car. Surely you must be able to buy them from Lexus after the sale if not at point of sale. What happens when one of the Sports models' HIDs stops working? Don't they have all the spare parts necessary to fix them? From what I understand you'll just need to purchase the globes and ballast (I think thats what they call it) and ask Lexus to fit them as if they were replacing them under warrantee (only you'll have to pay for this service)
As for the wheels, do the deal when buying the car if you like the Lexus rims. You'll get a better price trading in you brand new stock wheels and tyres, and hopefully you'll be able to negotiate an even better price at that time seeing there's the sale of an entire car involved for the sales guy. Worked for me! :)
I think the HID's are a factory install only as the washers must also be installed in your cars bumper so you will have to pay more than just the globes and the ballasts. Also the HID lights on the IS250 are auto adaptive so I have a feeling they might not be cheap at all. My suggestion would be to get the next model up if you can.
In regards to the wheels, having gone through the experience of changing wheels, try and do the deal when you first buy the car otherwise you will get peanuts if you try and trade them in later. I had the 17in wheels from the sports luxury and I was offered $400 all up when trading them in for 18in wheels.

I thought the F won't arrive till 2009?
Dealer says a November delivery so keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi Art_76
Just interested......
What models have you had? Colours?? How long do you keep them and most importantly what have you ordered?????
Hi Lexy
I have had 2 IS200's Sports Luxury both black but wouldn't get another black, too high maintenance for me.
At the moment a silver IS250 Sports Luxury and hoping to take delivery of a blue IS-F in November.

Does anyone know where to get touchup paint for the IS? I'd imagine the Dealers would have some but yeh, how much do they go for?
There is a chip just under the fender that i need to touchup before too long.
You should have got a little tin when you purchased your car.

If you look at the Redbook website when they give a valuation price, at the bottom of the webpage you actually get the following:
"Please Note:
Prices quoted include standard equipment.
However, allowance should be made for any added optional equipment. Click on "specifications" for details of standard and optional equipment"
So if you were to add Sat/Nav, moonroof etc. it would still add value to the car.

Run in period????? Are we supposed to be doing something special in a run in period??? I'm just get in and drive - should I be doing something special?????
For the first 1000kms, you are supposed to take it easy with the engine and let it run in a little bit i.e. not rev the engine over 3500 rpm too much etc. Once you hit the 1000Km mark your dealer will give the car a check-up to make sure everything is running as it should be.

Which dealer did u bring your car back to get fixed?
Maybe i can go to your one as i don't think i can trust mine (@ Paramatta).
You can't trust your dealer? What have they done?
I think Peter and the boys at Parramatta are great. I am onto my third Lexus from Parramatta Lexus with a deposit for my fourth and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
-
Your first 15K service is complementary so you probably wouldn"t take it anywhere else.
After that it's about $600 for the 30K service, I personally wouldn't take my car to anyone so I only take my car to a Lexus dealer.
-
I was told (and i should not believe it) that Australia gets the same car as UK and Japan.
Having said that I don't have headlight washer among other things. Would this headlight washers be on the US spec only or is it part of the Options pack that you can get?
You get the headlight washers if you have the Xenon lights.

It's for activating the cruise control.

Looks good, and you also have some sunshine up there.
I've had my HKS exhaust on the car for about 1 month now and whenever I wash it to take some pics it rains.
-
Does anyone NOT take their car to the dealers when under warranty?
Given the fact that some dealers don't really do a good job of servicing, i'm not sure what to do. should i get them to service the car or do the lube changes myself with the best material.s
I have serviced my cars at the same Lexus dealer for about 4 years now and I have never had a problem Given the amount of money you spend on a car I woulnd't trust my car to anyone else to be honest.
-
Why don't you give these guys a call.
http://www.heasmans.com.au/index.html
I've heard they do good work.
-
I think most of them have some rattle or other, mine has some intermittent rattles every now and then. When you see the state of Sydney's road though you will wonder how you don't en up with more rattles.
-
Yeah it didn't look like they had done anything but they're probably waiting for parts since they're getting replaced.
Modded Is250's?

I have the OEM body kit, Lexus F1 wheels, HKS exhaust, K & N air filter and thinking about the F-Sport intake.
At this stage not interested in lowering the car, might go for some suspension enhancements to increase the cornering and stability later on if I keep the car.
