  1. I do play with Photoshop too. Shall we go on with the idea and put some designs up? I'd be happy to have a small not-too-visible sticker (kind of a VIP thing).

i think its an awesome idea. its exclusive.

i dont really have a designing brain. but if someone can i think we should go ahead with it.

something not overly intrusive but stylish. probably i sticker more then badge.

i will gladly help someone with the designing by offering advise but dont really have the resources to design

  2. i have a camera that we always used in our meets but lol i am no good fotographer..

i have found a nice park near maq uni

    where the tennis courts are

    nice and big..

i think well start from there..

if you guys have a cruise plan let me know :D

but i dont mind no cruising

I'm an amateur photographer - I'll be bringing a camera along anyways :)

If your talking about the Macq area - there's also Fontenoy Park on Fontenoy Rd nearby.

    Guys

Do we have a final decision on the location (with address). As for the cameras im an amateur photographer as well i think the will be plenty of cameras around anyway. shame my car isnt done up like you guys. i dont care tho i love my car lol. im not jelous. . . . . . . . .

so is there a location and confirmation on cruise or not. lets get it cemented in.

    ;)

  3. FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im almost embarrased to comment on what i found when i went to change my battery this afternoon when i got home.

yesterday i was looking in my lexus log book servicing guide from the passangers seat.

i leaned over and turned the ignition on to see how many kms the odometer had. and then put my books away turned the ignition off and got out of car locked and walked away.

NOTE. Headlights and fog lights do not turn off until you open the DRIVERS DOOR . . . . . NOT the passengers door.

i usually run around with my lights on and they always turn off when you get out of car so i didnt even think that i was in a diff seat got out and walked away.

    FAIL!!!!!!!!!

  4. guys

all night i have been hearing what i thought was a wierd frog noise or a very constant dog bark off in the distant. for about an hour or two. I went and lay in my bed and i thought that sounds wierd and close. i went outside and the lexus is siting there with the parkers and tail lights pulsing every second with a weak weak horn noise.

i had no control over the car. . . after getting into it manually wit the key inside the fob still nothin.

measured the battery and it had 11.8v . . . still plenty to start the car even though its low but it sat in this retarded state and couldnt do anything even disconecting the battery didnt clear the fault. i got my dads car and put the jumper leads on it and the alarm BLASTED in the middle of the quite night. it wasnt until then i could get into car and push start button would the alarm stop and the car started. . .

My baterry went flat for no reason (probably old) and sent my car spastic. i disconnected the battery for the night and hopefully i can organise a battery tomorow and be sure that thats all it is. . .

with all the technology in the lexus a warning that the battery is low would not be that hard. and would save an expedition in the middle of the night running around in my pjs trying to shut my car up. . .

Any one else had this and can confirm its just a flat battery pleeeeease. im not going to be able to sleep tonight thinking my car is majorly broken electronically or somethiing lol.

Sounds like fun. Do we have a meeting point. and a destination?

also is there a photographer among us? it would be a sexy sight to see and damn shame to not have some good pickies. even thoght mine is still stock lol.

  6. Hmmm, would have to go through the service history coz can't remember if plugs were changed. It's got 66K kays on the clock, due for a service in about 4K kays. I wouldn't want to sound like a know it all either, but often those techs overlook the basics. My uncle took his 5 series bmw once to get a problem fixed. Can't remember what it did exactly, but they even flew in people from germany to take a look and couldn't figure out, they were examining the ecu and so on. Then an apprentice simply changed the coilpacks and it was fine. So yeah, maybe it is something simple they are overlooking.

I just want to gauge how common it is among you guys, as apparently most IS250's suffer this problem, according to the dealer. Only that it is so rare you only notice it after a while. Had the car for over a year and it only came to my serious attention a couple of months ago. Sometimes nothing happens for two weeks, I also do a lot of kays too (over 25K per year)...

I might set my display to show gears and see where it's at when it happens. I don't think it's gears though, the car is stopped.

According to lexus log book servicing (every 15 000km) spark plugs are replaced at 90k service. other then that they are not even inspected (acording to log book). but as for helping gauge this problem i have 54k on the clock and nothing like that.

  7. I've noticed something bizarre with my engine. Very rarely when the car comes to a complete stop, the engine revs become very erratic, going past 1000 rpm for a small moment, then back down to 400rpm and about to stall, then back up again and so on, for maybe two seconds, then settles back to normal idle. Very random too, it might occur twice or three times in one week, and at other times it might be three weeks before it reoccurs again. I spoke to the dealer and they know about this issue but have no solution for it. Apparently Lexus techs has been looking at it for a long period of time, and aren't sure what causes it etc. Very hard to diagnose as well, due to the randomness of it all. Was told it isn't detrimental to the enigne, thankfully.

Just wondering, do any of you get that as well?

my car doesnt do this I dont mean to sound like a know it all or anything cos imagine the lexus techs are pretty switched on. but it sounds exactly like a failing or several failing spark plugs thats the exact diagnosis for that as well.

how many kms is it due for spark plug change?

  8. guys im torn on what to do.

I love the look of a set of big wheels it makes the IS look alot sexier. BUT!!!

The smooth quite ride of the stock PLAIN Wheels is also awesome.

did anyone else have these thoughts and what did you opt for.

if you got the wheels how did the ride compare. on my IS200 i believe i ruined the ride quality. And then the wheels begun to go out of shape .... Frustration!!

  9. I gave mine a clean with some compressed air.

Decided to give it a clean especially after Sydney worse dust storm!!

Probably i bit late now but i had my windows tinted and they flatened the battery and all the way home i had this msg. i tried re starting the car several times leaving it off for longer period it wouldnt go away so i dissconected the battery for 5 mins and reconnected it and msg gone.

  10. dude i would love a lower profile wheel looks awesome on the 250. but i dont want to compramise my ride like i did on my IS200. looks awesome though.

if only there was a smooth soft option for low profiles. But physics just wont allow. not to mention i am a tight ass and dont wanna spend the money lol

If i were you id try ebay or trading post.

i tried with my is200 16's with not much luck but you will sell your 18's pretty quick

  11. My GSE20R IS250 (2007) had 18" rims fitted by the previous owner and my wife is finding the ride a little too firm on the potholed Sydney roads.

Currently sporting Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 255 40 R18's on the rear and 225 40 R18's on the front.

Tyres have about 5-10k left in them.

If anyone is looking to upsize from 17" rims to 18" and would like to do a deal. The rim are All in good condition.

Attached is a sample picture for an idea of the rims (i.e. These are not the actuals rims for sale)

    post-3461-1260151454_thumb.jpg

I'm interested in the dimension of the tyres that you have fitted, but the tyre condition is not important as I'll be buying new tyres.

how bout 16's with brand new pirelli p7.

is it really that hard a ride?

  12. In case the video disappears, this is what I gathered from it:

    - Ensure foot brake is disengaged

    - Hold foot on brake and start engine then remove foot

    - Engage the foot brake

    - Press the brake pedal twice

    - Release the foot brake

    - Hold foot on brake

    - Engage and release the foot brake twice

    - Engage foot brake

    - Press brake twice

I'll try it tonight and see how if it works with an '09 properly.

    Ladies And Gentlemen.

I have an 05 prestige and i had the problem of traction control not being turned off completely by pressing the button.

So i began using this method above and it worked.... ive used it 3, 4 maybe 5 times im not sure. BUT

Today i pressed my TC button expecting it to only partially turn off. . . . BUT it was OFF OFF!!! very wierd but very fun having a button on hand to turn it off completly so easily.

After reading all that i have read about traction control i havent heard anything like this anywhere.

Might have to clear up something for you. Without the special method, pressing the TC OFF button, swtiches off TC completely indeed. You can chuck a massive burnout if you want to etc. (not that I tried), however once you start going a little sideways, it will switch back on. Try it, you'll see it will rain on your parade half way through a skid :)

That pedal dance method is the only way to fully disable it.

I SEEEEEE!!! i didnt get a chance to chuck it side ways anywhere suitable when i thought i made a revolution the other day lol  haha.
