  1. Hi guys

I live in sydney and just got an is300 2002 model i want to fix up the sound system i mean it is good enough but i want to make it better what do you guys recomend i should get. Also i am thinking about getting rims and lowering it and tinting the windows, thats all i have in mind now any help or places that would do stuff like this for the car would be helpfulll it would be great. I cant turbo it yet because im on my P's so get rid of that idea

haha buy an IS250 lol. na. i had an IS200 i done up. i think if you do a search you will find this exact type of thread already discussed i remember typing it up once. great thread.

  2. guys

my smart key is starting to send a msg to the car that it is getting a flat bettery.

i was wondering if anyone has had to change theirs or if you just took it to lexus. i have another key but id like to know if anyone changed theirs cos i believe it an easy exercise and lexus doesnt have to be involved.

I just dont want to break it and dont know if it will need reprograming after battery changed.

    does any one know?

  3. I had toyo transpath sw on my IS200. and they were amazingly quite and an excelent tire all round.

I was advised against kuhmo as they cheaply made chinese tire. (Not very good)

I was advised to get japanese or australian with an a symetrical pattern.

    check this out

Kuhmo's are Korean and actually perform quite well compared to some Jap brands

mate just what i been told... and personally prefer and cant fault any jap tire

  4. SUCCESS!!!!!

A "carefully" worded email....... car is booked in with pickup and courtesy car all free of charge.

they have accepted fault and know how to rectify and my persuit of perfection continues haha.

Do you know any more details about the fault and what the fix up is? Perhaps free upgrade to 18" rims lol!

HAHAHA i dont think so man. Its basically going to be new instrument cluster that has the faults rectified.

  5. i took my car out this afternoon after work and had a 10 % error gps says im doing 10% less. (speedo 50 gps 45. speedo 100 gps 90) etc etc.

my car is just under 4 years old. should they be able to sell the car with this error and its out of factory warranty. what are my chances of getting it fixed.

persuit of perfection not so perfect!!!!

being a perfectionist this really really annoys me.

Has ANYONE had succes with lexus?

  6. guys

i picked up my 05 is250 last saturday, traded in an is200 and ever since ive noticed alot of impatient ppll up my arse and hearing about this innacuracy is starting to make me think my speedo is out.

i have 16in prestige rims. im gonna have to check this out. but to all those ppl using gps to test your speed. how do you know that the gps is not innacurate. the car is measuring the speed next to itself. the gps is reading the speed millions of kms away.???

  7. Sorry

dont worry about the pic's, they just poped up, my computer is sh*t house.

    hey Jabba

The exhaust is pretty cheap its because it has to come from japan. the exhaust was something like ... betwen 500 and 600 dollars but with shipping and installation it came too 1200 bucks. but you described it perfectly its not "a wanna be" exhaust it is big but not loud.

it fits perfectly to the curve on the stock bumber for the tail pipe.

there is a few more pics here.

feel free to ask any questions because i know what its like being a "perfectionist" haha and exploring into the un known with little info.

  8. guys and girls

for quite a while now i been looking at getting an exhaust for my IS200. But i did not want a loud stupid intrusive droning exhaust but still wanted performance gain.

After much consideration and lots and lots of research i came accross HKS.

After four weeks my exuast finally arrived from hks japan and was installed today. This exhaust has exceeded my expectations.

Not only is it quite and non intusive but has a beautiful sound. On low revs it has this really nice crispy hum (not loud) WITH a noticeable power gain mid range revs it just takes off. and when revving hard it is no louder then the engine (same as stock) but with extra power!

From inside the car the sound of the exhaust can barely.. if any be heard. outside the car or windows down it has this sweat crispy hum that is completly non intrusive. i was worried that my lexus would turn into a noise box with droning cabin noise and rediculous intrusive sound but i know this is a big call but i believe its a better option then a stock exhaust its so non intrusive.

there are a few web pages out there but this one shows a fair bit. the hot dog type thing on the side of the muffler is the part that makes it quite BUT still allows air flow thus MORE POWER!!

  10. I agree up to you. If you find a good garage that has a good rep, deals with imports or does a bit of tuning that is a decent start as their customers usually demand a high level of quality and workmanship on their vehicles.

yeah the guys are right. i have my log book servicing done at a local mechanic who does not only show high standards of workman ship and quality products but also loves to work on lexus vehicles. also at a fraction of the price.

if you can find someone like this i say go for it.

    good luck
