  1. I'm probably going to be out for tonight, I actually work on the Macquarie Campus but am going to be at work till at least 7ish
  2. Really? I have a 08 Sports and find the suspension a bit too stiff for Sydneys third-world roads... I'd love to soften it up just a tiny bit without losing too much in the handling department. Do you know how much lower the Teins are compared to the factory Sports?
  3. I'm a big fan of Autoglym stuff, it's pricey but I'm happy with its finish.
  4. Great to hear, I've just booked the car in on Monday, I'll let you know how it goes and try and get some photos!
  5. I don't want to be a killjoy, but I think you should keep in mind that the ClubLexus guys received a cease&desist letter from Lexus Corporate in regards to using the Lexus name in their sticker. Lexus are known to have been quite ruthless in pursuing anyone using their name without proper authorisation.
  6. The Ventureshield stuff is supposed to be near invisible, unlike the first gen 3M stuff (So good, 3M bought the Ventureshield firm)... the 3M stuff has a more noticeable orange peel apparently. If the surfaces are cleaned properly before the install (ie claybar etc) it should be invisible. There may be a slight line due to wax buildup, but this can be cleaned with a cottonbud/cuetip. I've seen it applied on numerous Porsches and Ferraris with no blatantly visible lines.. Up close, yeah there'll be a slightly noticeable line but thats the cost you pay for not having stone chips! From what I recall it was a fair bit extra to have the entire bonnet covered, as I'm getting this done through my work I only have a certain budget to work with (still waiting on payroll to sign the paperwork so I can get it done! grr)
  7. I'm actually going to get a Ventureshield stone guard kit applied soon (hopefully within a month) from these guys: http://www.universalshield.com.au/index.html Will let you know how it goes! The USA guys rave about these kits.
  8. Nice work, looking forward to seeing photos with the gear fitted! Where did you source it all from? Sewell Lexus in the states? eBay/Yahoo! Auctions?
  9. Yeah I'm down. 1. ilv1004s- Danny 2. LEX51S - Chris (depending on date) 3. ProjectIS - D (Need you ask!) 4. cevu - J 5. Jomster - Jom 6. Illusivedreams- Vadim 7. Oliver Twist
  10. Check out this thread on the ClubLexus forums, you have to wade through it but they do mention how/where to do the horizontal adjustments too somewhere in it.
  11. A perfect mod is tasteful, looks either OEM or like it was designed specifically for the vehicle, and doesn't smell of rice. That LED strip, is none of the above...
  12. I recently grazed my rear wheel on a gutter. I got it fixed by United Wheel Techs - 0425 305 590 (Say Curran's Auburn referred you for special pricing) they came out to my place and fixed it then and there for a reasonable price and they did an excellent job. Care to share before/after photos (if you have them?) and the $ damage?
  13. As am I, I work right next to Macquarie Centre.... The only exterior mod visible on my ride is a tint on my reflectors.
  14. Black, lowered IS250 with rims (looked big enough to be almost 20's!) wearing plates '250SEX' on Epping Road last night, outside the Stamford Hotel. P plater, too!
  15. I strongly feel that issues like this should be raised with the appropriate '+1' people. If it was just a lackey in the service department, speak to the service manager. If you're not satisfied with your discussion with him, contact Lexus head office. I would normally suggest the +1 above the service manager, but in such a tight knit working environment there's a tendancy for people to be pretty chummy and not really *listen* to your comments, rather favouring their colleagues position. It's easier for an outsider with interests of both the company and customer to make a sound judgement rather than an unconsciously biased work colleague. Even a quick brief email to customer care outlining the facts in detail, is more than adequate. If you've had such an unpleasant experience with someone, there's a good chance that you're not the only person, and it the guy above him doesn't know then there's an equally good chance that this sort of thing will keep going on until someone's spoken up. You're not paying them to be dicked around. They're also not the 'be all and end all' of the Lexus brand, and your complete satisfaction is worth more to head office than the dealer realises. Just my 2c...
  16. I've been vaguely following some threads on ClubLexus (Don't know why, when I have ML+Nav!) but there are aftermarket units available: http://www.opentip.com/Electronics-Compute...-p-1299772.html http://www.electrawarehouse.com/products/OEMIS300IS250.htm
  17. Lowered, white IS250 wearing 19" BBS mesh style wheels, plates starting with BEV - Cherrybrook at 6:50pm today
  18. Hmm.. Not sure if it matters as much as it did in older 80s-90s cars, but the thought crossed my mind about heat dissipation from higher wattage globes in housings designed for 35w globes....
  19. for which model Gary? I got this reply when I asked for photos:
