  1. Depends on your situation mate, really personal choice. Can't beat the sound of a straight pipe catless exhaust roaring on track.

I use my F for school run and prefer sunroof tilted when driving, so I'm getting a HKS SSM with stock midpipe as an intermediate option.

As Koop21said, yep it’s friday night from 6pm. But your Spectator tickets online for cheapest price. I don’t have a garage this time around (garages are $120) but if anyone is keen to join next time we can split it (up to 3 cars) and well worth it!!!

anyone that’s keen to meet at the event, let me know below and I’ll send you contact details.

Just read the Roll Racing info page, so it's basically a rolling drag race from 50km/h. I guess the marshals have to ensure the two cars sets off into the racing zone at the same time to get a fair comparison.

It'll be interesting to see if our ISF can take on the big boys, especially with your new RR racing performance package.

Definitely interested on join in the next roll racing with you, my car has the header, exhaust (HKS SSM arriving soon) and Autowerks tuning, stock intake. I want to see how much of a difference the RR Racing intake/tuning will make on the track.

PM me your contact detail mate.

If you use the same rotors with different pads, they have to wear into each other as they are not perfectly flat,  but they will work.  I’m sure driving around and out to the track,  plus after a 20 minute session on the track they should be ok.

When I take my ISF to the track,  I have a spare set of OEM front rotors with Project Mu RC 09 pads, marked and labelled so they go back in the same position on the ISF, and in the same place in the front brake calipers.  That way they are match perfectly to the rotors every time I use them.      As the rear brakes don’t do as much work as the fronts, (only 20 to 30%)  I only change the pads over to Project Mu RC 09.   they have to wear in, but after driving around and out to the track, plus a 20 minute session they are fine.

One of the things that I like about the spare set of OEM front rotors for the track is, it keeps my street OEM front rotors looking like new.

Project Mu just sent me the their recommended Brake Pad Bedding Guide, as attached if anyone looking for it.

Considering running a separate set of Rotor/Pad dedicated for track use as well, do you swap them yourself at home or at Chatswood before and after?

Two piece rotor is so pricey...

  4. Thanks guys for the feedback!!

I've just ordered a full set of DBA T3 Rotors from Brake Direct website. Price & Link here:

    http://brakesdirect.com.au/aus/catalogsearch/result/?q=vehicle&make=Lexus&model=IS&generation=XE20%2B%282005-2013%29&submodel=IS%2BF

Going to pair them with the Project Mu NS400 for the street. Although Brake Direct did seem to recommend Remsa pads over Project Mu pads. I might give it a try next time.

Now I just need to figure out if the Project Mu NS400 compound can work with HC800 on the same rotor surface when going to the track, so I can just swap the pads.

  5. Anyone running DBA T3 Rotors with Project Mu NS400 pads? Care to share some experiences with this combo?

I already bought a set of NS400 pads for the street and looking to upgrade the rotors, I'm contacting Brakes direct to get price on the T3.

Also planning to get a set of track use pads, maybe Project Mu HC800, anyone know if NS400 and HC800 compound can work together on the T3 rotor?

    Sure.

Managed to snap one up from QLD. Some of you may have seen it on carsales. It was only posted last week and I bought it sight unseen within that week. It's being frieght this week.

    It's a 2012 MY13. White with white interior and very low KMs. 28,xxxx 😁.

Beautiful car mate, congrats! White on white is a rare find.

You mind letting me know how much you got it for? PM me if you want.

Ceramic coating also seems to be a popular paint protection method, where you located?

Good news for future GSF owners. MY ISF headers which i still have will fit onto the GSF. I am booking it in for fitting in the next 2-3 weeks. Looking forward to feeling the difference. I know they made a nice difference on my old ISF.

Is it PPE header? Nice to know it's compatible with the GSF :)

I hope they can make an Equal Length header for the RHD soon.

Car currently has xforce exhaust, HPS intake and AFe drop in filter.

    ...

*full tuned intake (larger MAF) K&N cone filter

    *carbon intake elbow

Very exciting mate, nice upgrade plan! I'll be watching this build closely.

Interested on knowing how the intake upgrade goes, that's next item on my list too. Do you feel gain with your current setup? (HPS intake and AFe drop in filter).

Now with the RR Racing intake, do you lose the dual stage intake function?

I have a hks ssm on my isf, will upload some clips tonight if youd like? im running ppe headers, custom straight through mid section to the hks ssm. It has quite a loud raspy sound casually driving and on decel and is quite vocal on wot lol

Hi, you have the exact setup I'm trying to put on. Can you upload a sound clip if not too much trouble?

I already have the PPE headers and combo with JoeZ is just too droney for me.

Thanks to Chris of Lexus Chatswood, I got to hear this setup (PPE + Stock Midpipe + HKS SSM) in person today on a white MY14 ISF (Alcantara Interior). The weld & craftsmanship on the HKS SSM is just amazing. And you are right that the sound is raspy when rev in parked, but great tone under load. I think it's a good medium between the stock and catless setup, especially with PPE headers.

I'll be looking to buy HKS SSM and sell my JoeZ.
