  1. Hi ilv The car cover is packed away in its box, so dont have pictures of the real thing, however I have a link below of what it should look like below... http://www.lexus.com/models/ISF/accessories/index.html Having purchased this from a Lexus dealer, you would think it's the real deal.
  2. Hi guys.. Excuse my ignorance. I keep reading reviews of the ISF mentioning that on downshifts there is a bleep sound that you hear. I dont get this when I downshift. The only time it makes the bleep sound is when I approach redline and there is a bleep when it doesnt allow you to downshift from 2nd to 1st due to high speed travelling. What am I missing here:)
  3. Hi I'm not too sure if this is permitted on these forums. If so, please delete. I'm posting here thinking that I'd get more of a response than on Ebay.. I purchased a brand new car cover for my Lexus ISF from Lexus of Miami in the US. I purchased this item thinking that I'd be parking the car under a car port. I didnt end up using this as the car is kept in a garage and I have a custom made car cover built for garage use. I purchased this unused car cover for $600 (including shipping) and willing to sell this for $350 + shipping costs. Anyone in the sydney region can pick this up from my work in the city (sydney) obviously saving on delivery. Let me know if anyones interested. This car cover is built especially for the Lexus ISF and not available in Australia (As far as I know). THanks
  4. Poisson Thats a good positive story:).. You dont normally hear positive stories from dealers.. Normally negative ones. It would be great to keep this thread alive by posting more of these:)
  5. Thought so.. I was about to either check the manual or play around with the dial settings that enable/disable the DRL's..
  6. I was reading somewhere on another forum that the ISF may have tire pressure sensors? I couldnt be bothered looking this up in the manual:). Does the ISF have this feature. That is, will the car let you know when any of the tires lose pressure? How can you enable/disable this feature?
  7. Richie I was in the same situation as youself. I didnt really get the best service from one of the other sydney dealers. When I had my IS200, I wanted to testdrive a IS300. I told him that I wasnt ready to purchase the car that day. So he wouldnt let me go on a test drive. I went to the chatswood dealership and they were extremely happy for me to take the IS300 for a spin.. I guess with the chatswood dealership, they are are more about retaining the long term relationship as opposed to a $180 detailing cost:)
  8. I had interior vibration sound coming from the rear shelving just under the rear window. I got this fixed today. 2011 ISF
  9. About 2 weeks ago, I made a stupid decision to wash my car in direct sunlight (Rookie mistake.. I know). At the end of the wash, water droplets had baked onto the paint work & glass. No matter what I did, I couldnt get rid of these stains. Looked completely horrible and was cursing like there was no tomorrow. I drove to the lexus service centre the next day and showed them the problem. They quoted me $180 for an exterior detailing which I agreed to. So this morning I dropped my car off and took loan of the IS250 (Not liking to gloat or anything, but I prefer my ISF:)).. I also asked them to fix the vibration sound that was coming from the rear interior. I had to go for a quick drive with the mechanic to show them where the sound was coming from. So, I picked the car up this afternoon and as I was about to take my credit card out to pay, he said dont worry.. we'll take care of it:).. Top notch customer service. They detailed the car (which was the result of an error on my part) and also fixed the vibrating sound. One happy customer here:) I think this is the reason why over the past 10 years, I've purchased 3 new lexus cars (IS200, RX330 & now ISF) from the chatswood dealership. I'm sure other dealers would give the same service, but to me I guess they got me for life:)
  10. BigAV Thanks for your comments. I do have a question for anyone that has seen the exterior windows of the car above. I did ask for tint to be applied (The darkest legal tint) before delivery, and the windows look lighter than what I would have expected. They told me that it would be the darkest tint thats legal. What do people think. Is there anyway I can tell if tint has been applied. I dont want to get ripped off as I paid for this tint to be applied but dont want to go back and accuse them of not applying the tint. I tried rolling the windows down and I couldnt feel any tint film at the top of the window unless they did a great job and applied the tint right to the end of the edges of the window.. I just couldnt tell. Would be grateful for any of your comments regarding the tint?
  11. Better late than never I guess. Some Pics of my new ride below.
  12. When I took delivery of my car, I got given 1. Bottle of moet & chandon champagne 2. Bunch of roses 3. Lexus umbrella This was from Lexus of chatswood. I've purchased 3 lexus vehicles brand new from chatswood over the past 10 years. I've always had a great experience from this dealership. I didn't have the best experience from Sydney city, so I've always bought from chatswood not bothering about the other dealers. I always go in with a price in mind and if they get close to my ideal price, they've won my business.
  13. After 2 weeks fromm taking delivery of my car, I'm loving every minute of it. I took a few days off work this week and went up to palm beach and driving through the national park (back ways through bayview/roland reserve), I can now really appreciate the gearbox:). It's so effing beautiful how when you approach a corner/hairpin turn, you downshift to 2nd gear and accelerate out of the corner..just a touch of the accelerator pedal and you can feel the car wanting to jolt forward:) you really dont need much to push the car.. The first day I took delivery of the car, I went on a freeway and 5-6 times I'm behind a vehicle, they always move out of the way and let me pass. I wasnt even travelling too close to the car in front of me. I guess the DRL lights in their rear view mirror makes some aggressive stance:) The little things like the IPOD connector and having the songs come up on the nav screen just puts the icing on the cake. Have 500km's already on the odmoeter.. Not too much but being a weekend car only, I'd want to keep this in pristine condition. I think what makes this car in my eyes so special is the exclusivity of the car on the roads. You really dont see many of the ISF's as opposed to the M3's & S5's.
  14. I absolutely love the ISF. I am so stoked at getting into the car. The car is only a weekender for me so it gives me something to look forward to at the end of each week:) I have a question for those that have an ISF. I noticed that the CIGARETTE lighter is missing in the centre console. I'm talking about the section next to the USB connection. I dont smoke, but am wondering if there's supposed to be a cigarette lighter or is it supposed to be empty? Thanks
  15. The dealer says my ISF will be ready for pickup this saturday. I decided to get the premium tint before I pickup the car. That is the most darkest legal tint on all windows except for the front window. What's the first thing I should do when I pickup the car. I'm so excited:)
  16. Thanks guys for your responses. You've made my decision for me and wont go through with the paint protection. Another thing which deterred me from going through with it is that they wanted me to bring the car on day of delivery to their premises and wanted me to leave the car for 2 days so they can work on it. Didn't like the idea. I'll just get it detailed every year instead.
  17. Hi The delivery of my ISF is getting all too near:) - 3rd week of Feb.. I just cant wait. I'm deciding whether to get paint protection upon delivery, however I'm not going with the LExus paint protection. I'm thinking of taking the car to Currans accident repair centre who professionaly detail all exotic/lucury cars. They offered me $300 off whatever Lexus quotes me.. Havent received a quote from Lexus yet though.. I need to first justify if I actually need this it's only a weekend car. Wont be driving all that much. Dont need to drive it to work as I take the train. Having said this, perhaps I dont need it, but was told that it will keep that showroom finish. On the other hand, because I wont be driving all that often, I might not apply the pain protection and instead opt to bring my car in each year to them and get them to detail/polish etc so that it has that showroom finish I'm after. What are your thoughts? Did anyone get paint protection oin their new car or total waste of $$$? Thanks
  18. That would be great if you can post pics. I heard its a pain to remove. How Much of an annoyance is it. Is it very noticeable? Hi mate, True i think ... My rims are showing some form of not sure you would call it rust however. its in the corner of the spokes maybe where the first owner didnt wash the rims properly and left brake dust in there .... its def pitted the surface... Will try and get some pics.. Richieisf.
  19. My car gets delivered in february. So I have no experience. Just wanted to get opinions from Aussie owners. Are your stock rims ok
  20. Hi I've recently been trolling around the various Lexus ISF message forums. There have been discussions when brake dust forms on the stock ISF rims and you leave it unwashed for a period of time, that rust forms on the rims. Can anyone in Australia confirm this fact? They are saying there are some design flaws in the BBS rims.. THanks.
  21. Got mine from Lexus of chatswood as well. Would be good to meetup. I plan to keep mine bone stock. Don't really plan to drive it all that much. It's a total weekend car. Anyway don't know if I can wait till feb. Long wait for me. I'll post some pics when I take delivery.
  22. That's what I keep dreading the most. Rattles. When I purchased an is200 on 2000, I had rattles which Lexus did fix but after 3-4 mths of bringing back to the dealer. I had trouble free rattles when I then purchased an rx330. Now when I take delivery of the isf in feb I am worried that I'll get some rattles. Hopefully I'll be lucky and everything will be smooth sailing. Btw. Do you really need to wear in the isf engine. I get conflicting points of view saying you dont need to break in the engine. Others say vary your rpm until 100km. Confused now.
  23. Hey guys I'm based in the north shore (pymble). I take delivery of the MY11 in February. Wanted a 2011 compliance build. We should all 3 meet. Would be great sight to see 3 isf's together. Which dealerships did you buy your car from?
  24. Thats a nice colour you have. I test drove the 2nd generation isf. What really annoyed about it was the steering wheel. It seems kind of thin for a sports car. Do you. Know if the my11 isf has a more thicker steering wheel?
  25. Thats great to hear.. Yeah.. will post some pics when it arrives. I dont know, theres something about Lexus which keeps attracting me to their cars. Having purchased an IS200 in 2000 & RX330 in 2003, I always said to myself that I would try a different brand. So here I am again and purchased another lexus. I just loved the throaty sound of the V8 engine. Just gives me chills up my spine:) Anyone know if the HDD system is included in the latest revision of the ISF? I heard that you may be able to upload some music from a USB key onto the HDD and play music from the storage?
