  1. This is the exact reason why I purchased the ISF as well. Less of these on the road. I was going to purchase the S5 Coupe but decided not to as it was under powered compared with the ISF and too many on the streets.
  2. Got picked up by my dad at Gordon Station (in his Toyota Avalon:)) after coming home from work.. I saw a black ISF driving down rosedale rd driving in front of us.
  3. Might give this place a go when I need to wash the car. They look pretty professional. I live in Pymble, but dont mind driving a bit if they do a half decent job.
  4. So another invite went out I think on the 7th August.. Dam eventhough it costs $795, I was wanting to go to this one, but unfortunately I leave for NZ that day.. Anyone else attending this event?
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the newcastle dealership is owned by the Chatswood dealership..
  6. And hopeless Fuel Mileage. But lets get serious here.. We didnt buy this car to get good fuel consumption did we:)
  7. Got my ISF back. Seems they fixed the problem (touch wood).. They had the car for 2 days.. Got a loaner RX350.. Nice smooth ride.. Seems they improved the ride quality compared to my old RX330 a few years back. Anyway, they tested the car again on the 2nd day and they were pretty happy they got rid of the noises. Apparently they had to take the whole dash out and do some adjustments etc. Just love the chatswood service department. This dealership always go out of their way just to fix some mundane/little things:) They also seem to have fixed the day/night modes on my Navigation screen. Since picking up my car, the screen wouldnt change from day to night modes. I thought this was normal that it would stay on day mode (bright screen) continuously regardless if the headlights are on or off. This is fixed eventhough I hadnt pointed this out. Blacky: How did you go with your rattle problem?
  8. I have another niggling rattle/vibration sound coming from the drivers side.. It always seems to surface when driving on roughish roads. Went to the dealer this morning and got the mechanic to come for a test drive. It took about 10 mins of driving before he could hear anything. He was extremely nice to take the time to drive a bit longer. He seems to think that this vibration sound is coming from behind the dash. This same guy fixed the vibrating sound coming from the rear shelf of the vehicle 1.5 months ago. Im just hoping he will fix this annoying issue. I have it scheduled to be worked on next tuesday..
  9. I'm not sure how to explain it, but there seems to be a weezing (semi high pitched) sound coming from the engine compartment when you accelarate. This is when the engine hasn't warmed up yet (so at cold start). I'm not totally pushing the engine, but would say putting the foot down 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down. Is this normal? I think when the engine has warmed up after a while, I recall it sounds ok.. I'm wondering if the car is telling me I need to slowly warm the engine up before I push it??
  10. Yeah.. after re-reading the reviews, it mentions blipping of the throttle on downshift. Does this mean the engine sound? That is, im in 3rd gear at fairly high revs and I suddenly downshift to 2nd gear. I hear the engine sound agressively change down to 2nd. ie you hear such a powerful downshift sound of the engine. Im assuming this is what they mean:).. It sounds dam fantastic:)
  11. When I took delivery of my 'F' late February this year, I shopped around for the cheapest insurance. I found that GIO had the cheapest ($1140/year). I had my home/content insurance with them as well so received a further discount from them. I also took the highest excess of $2500 + $500 (High performance vehicle excess).. so $3k excess all up. I figured that I dont drive my car all too often.. Only a weekend car.. maybe drive 1 day a week for an hour or so.. if that. If I got it stolen, I wouldnt mind forking out $3k for a new replacement car.
  12. did you end up bringing your car in again to fix the rattles?
  13. Unfortunately, even if I wanted to go, it was a bit of late notice. Hope you have fun on wednesday. Be sure to take some photos when you're not driving of course:) and also to report back here with your findings..
  14. I know it's a full day, with catered food and professional instructors.. But c'mon.. they could have been a bit moire leniant with the pricing. Lexus Australia should have helped with the sponsorship so that it wouldnt have cost as much.. They should have supplied the cars.. But can understand that it would most likely be a tad difficult for them to supply 20 ISF's for the day. I dont even think my Insurance company would cover me for these track days.. Probably not worth the troubles. I'd even be happy if they supplied the CT200h's to drive on the track or any lexus car for that matter Oh well, Im hoping they have the normal drive days I was accustomed to 8 or so years ago where they invited you to drive all the lexus vehicles around the track - free of charge..
  15. Anyone get an invite to the Lexus F-Club event for those who purchased from Lexus of chatswood (Email posted below). I cant believe they're charging $795 for the event. They should be offering this FOC. I remember back in early 2000, there were drive days where they supplied the vehicles. I dont think I'm going to use my car for the whole day at the track.. Just dont feel comfortable with this. If you read further below, they may be proposing a super-cruise drive day. I'd be inclined to opt in for a cruise if the dealer is sponsoring it. ------------------------------------------------------------ You have been invited to join Lexus of Chatswood's Inaugural F-Club Track Day at Eastern Creek Raceway. Held in association with the Events O'Neill Burrows Drive Day, this event will be held on Wednesday 18th May 2011 at Eastern Creek Raceway from 8.00am to 5.00pm. As an exclusive Lexus of Chatswood package, you will receive the following - o An advanced driver education day providing one-on-one in-car tuition from professional instructors on the main circuit. o PRE RACE INSPECTION* of your car to ensure it is track ready - includes brake & fluids inspection, replacement of engine oil with race grade oil, toe and camber wheel alignment, and suspension check and adjustment. o POST RACE INSPECTION* of your car to ensure it is road-worthy including a car wash. o Full Track support on the day with a Lexus Master Technician available at the Lexus Pit-Stop garage. o Access to the track prepared CT 200h used in the F1 Celebrity Race Challenge. o Fully catered event o Lexus Cap o And of course the most important aspect; having had a fun and enjoyable day! Cost of the event is only $795. In order to ensure every driver receives adequate track time, the day is limited to 20 drivers per driving group, allocated on a first come, first served basis. Allocations for the upcoming drive day will close on Monday 16th May or when filled. To attend this event please reply to this email immediately or call Sid Cetindag on 9406 8388. If you cannot attend this event please look out for future F-Club events including other track days and a proposed super-cruise drive day.
  16. haha yeah.. i know.. it was just a fun thing to do. i didnt redline in first gear for that long.. it just sounds bad when you redline though..
  17. Haha:).. yeah.. i had no doubt that the ISF could beat the lancer.. Just wanted to prove a point to him:)
  18. Hi again Can anyone tell me if it's normal for the car to slightly move when the park brake in engaged fully and transmission in neutral? I was told by a friend of mine, that it should move a bit. When you guys are in your 'F' next, can you do me a favour and when you are on a slight hill/incline. Engage the park brake and transmission in 'N'. Can you tell me if there is some slight movement of the car? I believe the car shouldn't move a bit?
  19. I was at the lights and some guy in his (what looked like a hotted up Lancer) revved his engine wanting a race. I thought why not.. Never had this happen to me before and wanted to experience what it felt like once in my life. Placed the transmission in 'M' mode and switched to Sports mode. At the green light, I floored the accelarator pedal and within a few seconds his car was in the rear view mirror:). He wanted to take it further, but that was enough for me.. I had nothing else to prove. With all this commotion, I total forgot to shift to 2nd gear. So majority of my win was done in first gear. I then changed into 2nd gear when I realised I was at redline and the shift indicator was red. BTW, do you guys know what it would do to the engine/transmission, if you left the gear in 1st and redline for a few seconds.. you think it would do anything detrimental to the engine/transmission?
  20. Blacky I really do feel for you. Which dealer are your bringing your car to? Have you thought about trying a different service centre? What do they say each time you bring youe car back and say it's not fixed? Do you actually go on a test drive with the mechanic so that they are aware of the problems. If they can hear it, then you're not going mad and in theory they should action it.. Having your car for 1 week and being able to fix the car to your satisfaction is not a good thing. Think it's time to dry an alternate service centre.
  21. Can anyone recommend a decent place that would wash your car as if it was their own? I would normally wash my own car, however I dont have a place with a shaded area. I'd take it it to a car wash in an emergency if needed. I dont mind if they charge more than usual as long as they do a decent job. I also dont want any kids to touch the car. I guess a good way of knowing if the car wash is any good is if you see all luxury/sports cars being washed. Any ideas/recommendations? Thanks
  22. Thanks for the response. Hmm. I dont think, I've ever tried launching in 2nd gear.. I was assuming that you could:).. I also read that Sports mode isnt all that fuel economical as opposed to normal mode. I guess we didnt purchase these cares to be save on petrol..
  23. Come to think of it, when you downshift from 2nd to 1st, you can really feel the engine/gears doing most of the braking. Do you guys normally start in 1st gear or 2nd gear when launching? i feel that when you launch in 1st gear, you really dont have that much time to change to 2nd gear. Just feels 1st gear is very short and too agressive (especially in sports mode) - which I guess isn't a bad thing... But interested to know how you guys launch the car. Do you guys always switch to sports mode everytime you switch your engine on?
  24. ahaa.. thats what they mean. Always happens to me when trying to downshift from 2nd to 1st.. I was under the impression it would bleep each time you downshift..
