  1. Was driving in the city this afternoon around 6pm when I see they were filming what looked like a Lexus ct200h commercial. There were a few cop cars blocking the street and obviously the film crew when I drove my car (with obviously my joez exhaust and air intake). The ct200h looked hot but all the cops and film crew people were looking at my car when I drove by with the very nice rumble of my exhaust;). Was totally flattered by that gesture:)
  2. I would love to go however I'm not sure if I'll be free due to work commitments. April is also bad for me as I may be away on business. You already have 6/7 isf's on the cruise. That would look totally awsome with all of you driving in a line:)
  3. I always use vortex 98 from caltex.
  4. After recently getting my intake and joez installed, I decided to give it a fair run to help Break the exhaust in. Went for a drive around balmain and to mosman to wakehurst parkway then on to the beaches to palm beach/barranjoey. Had a nice drive trying to vary my revs as per sids suggestion and hopefully will see some more performance improvements in a months time.
  5. Good poll. Very interested to see what the general concensus of ages of those who own an isf.
  6. Ahh knew you would love it .! However , when Sid gave you the power readouts, did he say if that was at the engine or at the wheels.? and if that was Kws, or horsepower.? Reason i ask is, the guys in the states are averaging around the 380-405 hp (283-302kws at the wheels , with headers, JoeZ exhaust and intake. And the hightest Hp ISF I've ever read about has 421 HP at the wheels, which in the new money is 313.9 kws at the wheels. I suspect out Aussie read outs should be more due to the higher octane petrol we had available... most "gas" stations in the states only sell 91, which we all know here as well basically "*BLEEP* fuel" Was he able to give you any kind of price regarding the headers, and when they would be available ? Below is a pic of the Carbon Tips. Enjoy.! Yeah.. definitely loving the new sound it makes. Sid didnt mention whether the readout was at the engine or wheels. he did mention it in kw's though. In regards to the headers, he didnt have a price yet. He showed me the only test header which was to be installed on his friends ISF - Lucas?? Once it tests out fine, he will order some in and price it at that time. he said he'll be sending out an email to all the F owners once its available. Those carbon tips look great.. What did that set you back. Those were the ones he must have been talking about. What I did notice is that the exhause only has 1 pipe on each end. I could have sworn the OEM exhasust had 4 pipes, but Sid mentioned that even the OEM had only 2 pipes.. I think it kinda looks weird where you can only see the one pipe through the 2 tips on each end..
  7. Three words: OH MY GOD!!! Just picked my car a few hours ago from the Lexus Chatswood service centre. Dam it's loud:). just driving at low revs can really bring out the sound of the V8. Sid was totally awsome. He spent 20mins with me going over the parts to be installed and also showed me the PPE headers which they will have in stock hopefully soon. He mentioned that with the JOEZ & Air intake you get approx 360kws.. adding the PPE headers, you get over 400kw.. that is awsome!!! He did mention that after time, the sound will quieten down. As much as I love the sound of the V8, I dont think I could live with that sound day in day out when cruising;) I did notice you dont even have to floor the car to get up to speed. It might be my imagaination, but take off seems quicker. It just screams perforcmance now:). Sid mentioned also that they are bringing in a carbon fibre exhaust tips.. that would be interesting as well.. He also mentioned an F drive day to the hunter valley.. so all the F & Fsport vehicles.. wouldnt that be a sight to see. He was telling me that they will have some GS cars and people would take their turns in driving the GS up to the hunter:)
  8. Have one last question. Those with the joe z, can you still tell when the secondary intake opens or is it now a constant sound now? I always love the sound of the engine when you get that secondary intake open. I'm assuming you lose that altogether now.
  9. What is the noticeable performance difference (apart from the louder V8 sound) should I be looking out for when I pickup the car with the JOE Z exhaust and intake upgrade? Should there be faster accelaration from a stand still? Also, does it still make use of the OEM quad tips? They dont replace this right?
  10. THanks Richie.. At least I know what it looks like now when open the hood. and thanks for the tip regarding not overtightening. Hoping the chatswood dealership have done a few of these installs and would know some of the tricks in getting these installed correctly. thanks again
  11. How did everyone transport their OEM exhaust home? Totally forgot how I was going to do this once the dealer installs the JOE Z? Do you know if the OEM exhaust will fit in the ISF (Highly doubtful).. Or can the parts be dismantled in anyway and boxed up? Worst comes to worst, I might have to call Pack and Send to pick it all up and box it up and deliver to my home.
  12. Hi Guys Thanks for all your responses. Im pretty much new to this. I've never upgraded to an aftermarket exhaust/cold air intake before. Infact I wasn't even sure if this was worth the $$$. All I knew was that it brought out the V8 sound and not even sure what the cold air intake does. I really need to get on to Google more:). Having said all the above, I emailed Sid at the lexus service centre and I took the plunge and booked my car in for next Wednesday. I will be getting them to install the JOE Z Exhaust & ICODE cold air intake at the same time. Cost is $3600 to install both of them. To actually check if they installed the cold air intake, is it very visible when you open the hood? I'm hoping I will notice the difference in performace:)
  13. A few questions 1. What does Lexus of chatswood charge to supply and fit the joez exhaust? Assuming since they are fitting an aftermarket product, warranty is not void? 2. Does fitting the exhaust only make a much louder noise? There aren't any other improvements to the power correct?
  14. Hi I've just driven to the Hunter Valley and back today. Nice drive and totally love it when you get behind a slow coach vehicle and take them over with ease. Place in M mode and place in a lower gear and pedal to the metal baby!!!! What's the furthest you guys have driven to?
  15. Hi all Just picked my car up this morning. God dammit they did a great job.. Not only did they respray the underside of the front bumber and add the rubber moulding strip below.. They also detailed the exterior of the car with the xymol product. They did this free of charge. This was certainly a surprise. Let me tell you the car looks better than the day I picked my car up from the show room. They asked me to take the car back to them in 6 weeks for a checkover of the exterior detail and from that point on, Ill take the car back to them every 9 months for a detail. I have nothing but high praise from they guys. Very nice people and their pricing is extremely fair. They wont rip you off:). Anyway, i've attached the picture of the final rubber mould. Aplogies for the picture quality (This was the only angle I could take). As you can see below, you can see the extra layer of rubber. They did an extremely neat job. When I look underneath, it looks like the rubber moulding is part of the bumper itself. They did a great job that it looks like it blends in perfectly. The previous picture that I posted above does not do the work any justice. As mentioned above, they moulded the rubber strip so that is literally sculpts to the curves and blends in to the underside of the bumper. Couldn't be happier with the work that performed on the car!!!
  16. Here's one of the pics that they sent me. They told me the image above is a trial mould and will look much better. It is attached via double sided tape and is very strong. Shouldnt come off even when wet. They told me that they did something similar with a Lamborghini they had in. Wont be able to see this moulded rubber strip unless you get down and actively look underneath the car. Anyway, get to pick the car up first thing tomorrow morning. I'll give you an update once I get my car back from them..
  17. No problems. I'll post an update when I pick the car up next Saturday. Website details below for currans. http://www.currans.com.au/ They are located at 7 rawson st Auburn.
  18. Yes I've been dealing with Sam since 2000 bringing all my cars to them. Sam is a great guy to deal with. I think his pricing is very fair value as well.
  19. Thanks for your reply. Having said this I bit the bullet and will be getting this fixed for my piece of mind. I'm getting this done at currans accident repair centre who are Lexus authorized. I got a much better deal from them. For $440 they will respray the underside and also attach a customized rubber strip to protect any future mishaps. They did something similar with a Ferrari recently. Included in the price is a loan car for 2 days. I've booked this in for next Thursday. Much better deal than what I was quoted with Lexus. They were only going to respray. Good thing with the rubber strip is that if this ever does happen again I just replace the strip and it protects the bumper.
  20. Well it finally happened and it's playing on my mind. I have just scraped the underside of the front bumper on my F. You can't notice these scrapes unless you literally get down on one knee and look under the car but boy am I pissed!! Do you think I should bother about getting this professionally touched up/repainted? Was quoted approx $500 by Lexus. Has anybody had theirs all scratched up? Do you think I'm worrying too much. I don't normally drive my car everyday and always try to be careful when driving over speed humps. Let me know what you all think.
  21. Thanks for all your responses. I guess my concern is how I explain the situation to the service guys. If I said there is a screeching sound coming from the engine bay at redline, is that fairly descriptive for them to work out. Should I also mention to check the drive belts? Im also kind of guessing that they are wanting to hear this for themselves so there will have to be a quiet stretch of road with no cops around to get the car up to speed.
  22. Thanks for the response Brisman.. Im down in melbourne for work (from tomorrow) for the week. I might bring the car in next week for them to check it out.
  23. Hi All Hope everyone is well. When I redline my ISF in 1st gear, I hear a kind of screeching sound coming from the engine bay as I change to 2nd. I then redline in 2nd gear, and as I change to 3rd gear i again hear a screeching sound coming from the engine bay. Do any of you ISF owners experience the same thing? I have my first service at around december and I was going to bring this up with the service centre then. Just curious if this is a normal occurence or not. Having only 3800km's on the clock, i wouldnt think it's a worn belt or anything. Thanks.
  24. I tried Awash, and probably the best car wash I've been to. They take great care of the car and no light scratches after they're done.
  25. Hi Mike. I was also contemplating getting the flat bottom wheel. Did you buy this from sewell lexus in the US? How much did you pay including shipping? Was it essentially a straight swap? No problems with the change over? Can you post some pics of the flat bottom wheel installed in your car.
