  1. Hey dogmatic Yeh those F$(ken mowers they need to put a leash on them, the windscreen is a dog. I think I read that review on the M3, C63, RS5 and the ISF got a bit if a licking but they thought it was a lot of fun. However I think the biggest problem with the Overseas comparison is price, the ISF was more expensive than the M3 and C63 which is obviously not the case locally in OZ. Anyhow the ISF is at the car park now while we are in QLD so back to it next week for some nice driving in country Vic for the remander of the holidays :D
  2. 2010 so should have a torsion LSD. If it doesn't I will be mighty pissed off and there will be some harsh words to the dealer ;)
  3. Interesting thing this morning, pulling into the neighbors drive way and the beast cocked it's left rear wheel and I was STUCK! Thought the LSD would fix this problem but reading up on the Torsen LSD it sounds like if one wheel has a complete lost of traction it cannot transfer the torque to the other wheel Apparently the Torsen LSD has a torque multiplication ratio = 5 to 1 and 5 x 0 = 0, NO TRACTION. However reading a little more the solution may have been to apply foot brake a little and then it could transfer the torque to the wheel with traction. You learn something everyday!!
  4. Hey mate , Glad to hear your trip went well, I bought my car from Melbourne and drove to Sydney , so I know bout stonechips. (not happy Jan ) Lexus has Revised dash clips which they fitted to mine...all good now.!! On My return trip from Melbourne, i averaged around the 8.9 litre /100 kms.. so im guessing ur engine was a touch tight , What fuel was you using .? Richie Hey Richie Caltex 95 and 98 where possible. In regards to running in, the dealer said no but if you read the manual it does recommended a sort of run in period. That is not to run at the same RPM for an extended period, nice to find that after driving 750 km at the same Speed most of the way <_< Lesson learnt, don't always trust the dealer.
  5. Well the ISF is well and truely run in now, drove to Adelaide and back form Christmas. Trip was relatively uneventful except a couple of things; 1. Bloody Local councils need to workout how to stop stones flying up from their lawn mowing in the middle of nowhere! first stone chip in passenger door 2. Locusts don't add much to the paint quality 3. Developed a couple of rattles 4. Return trip Fuel average was 9.6 Litre / 100 km, a little disappointing but maybe the engine is still a little tight. As I say all good though, comfy 7.5 hour trip each way.
  6. Ok, thanks for your help. iPOD is certainly a valid point just didn't want to leave it in the car all the time. Have purchase a Flash drive and just down loading songs now to see how that goes. Cheers for the comments. iPOD does sound like the choice though. Does it matter what model iPOD you use?
  7. Hi all Is anyone using a portable hard drive off the USB under the armrest for their music or video files? Cheers
  8. Just noticed this page / topic. Started a thread in the ISF part of the forum. HELLO http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9765
  9. I'd be interested in this also. Maybe we will just need to piggy back off another club at PI or Winton.
  10. There is a USB in the centre console and this will accept a HDD device, so rather than an iPOD you could by a simple external HD and download you songs. The manual has a reference to the type of files and formating. I will give it a go later and see how it goes.
  11. Picked up the beast today :D and let the old beast go :( to a good home I hope. Only driven from the dealer to home so far so have no real comments other than I LIKE IT! Reading manual at the moment but way to much information for this dumb fellow.
  12. Hey Dogmatix, yes coming from my loved 130 but looking forward to the new beast. The 1er is going to a new home with another 1addict member so heres hoping he gets looked after well, at least we will get a roof over his head. I am sure the ISF will be a better but and at about double the price I should hope so ;) . One thing I am looking forward to, well at least for a while is no changing gears. Would have liked to have purchased an updated model but the superseded price was too good to go past, without this special price I don't think I could have justified the car to myself. Oh well only a couple of days and all will be revealed. Cheers for the welcome.
  13. Hi All Just thought I would say hello as I signed on the dotted line for an ISF last week and hope to pick up this Tuesday. It has only taken me 2 years to find a replacement for my current ride, but I am sure I will be happy with my choice. Note much to say about the car as it is standard WHITE with WHITE interior, tinted windows and bike racks 2010 (not update). Looking forward to getting behind the wheel. Cheers
