  1. There is not a lot in the article, but I will post tomorrow when I get onto my PC. Funny as they have not updated their times in the price section of the mag and the ISF has the same times as the IS350!!!! Sometimes I really to wonder if there is some bias against the Lexus but I don't have any idea why. Do the journos really think Lexus would misquote the speed of a car by a whole second????
  2. 2010 forward got the Torsen LSD and the 2011 upgrade got the suspension Forgot to also mention the car ran a 12.9 1/4 Will scan and post shortly
  3. See the latest Wheels mag has done a max. speed comparison on the Avalon strip and included the IS-F. Pulled a 4.8 sec 0 - 100, that is pretty good seeing as most mags seem to give it a high 5 for this and I can never understand why. Small article but good review.
  4. Well got the car back from the service and nothing, still there!!! Can't really say much other than disappointment, it is very small but a complete pain in the ass. Anyhow, the service guys say it is with Lexus Aust. So I sent them a customer service comment this morning LOL See if they come back and how they come back. It is a real bummer that such a simple thing can ruin the experience. Will keep driving either way B)
  5. Well the ISF is in for it's first service tomorrow 15km and I have asked them to again look at the rattle / squeak. After a few months of putting up with it I am now sure it is the seals squeaking and not actually a rattle. See if we make any progress to fixing the problem tomorrow. Have warned the service department I want it fixed LOL
  6. Anyone is OZ running after market exhausts? Interesting in hearing one in the flesh, especially if there is an drone on the highway etc. Melbourne would be great. Cheers
  7. Thanks to one of my neighbours I need to get my front bumper repainted. Looking at the Lexus approved repairers, there are a number to choose from in Melbourne and was wondering if anyone has had first hand experience with any of them. Get a quote from Correct Repair in North Melbourne and they list as repaint in Enamel. Is that correct, enamel not two pak?? I have no idea which paint they are to use, so thought someone might know. Cheers.
  8. What are you running in the way of dimensions and offset for your track wheels? I have been thinking about some 18" but OEM offsets are difficult to get in after market rims.
  9. Just re-reading your post and I am wondering if you mean the rev matching blip of the throttle or the bleeping alarm. If you are referring to the blipping of the throttle you only really hear this when you are up in the rev range i.e you change down and the revs are above 3,000 rpm in the lower gear. Just a thought
  10. Nah, just driving for the moment. Rattled was not there for a few weeks but back now. Will put up with for a little longer, just because I can't be F*(KED being without the car

  12. Hey Lexster Unfortunately I have to say no! It is better but it is not fixed. At this point in time I have given up on fixing it, as I want to drive the car not keep driving it to the dealer. As I say the main rattle, the one by by ear is still there at times but no where near as often as before. It could be the cooler weather that has slowed it, which by my thinking might point to seals squeaking. I have the first service coming up in a short time so maybe I will get them to look at it again then.
  13. Yes, very frustrating and I would have thought 7 days was long enough to at least fix the problem or say it is unfixable. When I left the car last time, they acknowledge the rattle by the drivers ear, glove box and passenger but did not hear the odd sound from the roof. They are telling me they are using a Lexus Aust. tech from Sydney to help resolve the problem. anyhow one last go I guess, will be putting the car in on Tuesday so will post again how I go.
  14. Update on the rattles / squeaks. Left the car with the dealer for a week while OS and came back with all this we did this, we did that etc. End result nothing changed rattle still there and it is giving me the SH&*S!!!!! See what the service manager wants to do now. On the doors seals, maybe I will try masking the door seals up and see if the noise goes away.
  15. In my opinion, I don't think you should take the type of car in the wash as a guide to the quality of wash you get. There a many porsche, ferrari and alike at very average car washes in Melbourne, just because you own an expensive car doesn't mean you are interested in the quality of wash you get. If you are going to look at anything you should really look at the way they wash the cars and the products they use i.e. do they use mitts or sponges to wash, micro fibres to dry, do they use different buckets for body and wheels, or to go one further different bucket for upper and low paint work etc.
  16. Try asking on this forum; http://forums.finalinspection.com.au/
  17. Can you actually start from a standing start in 2nd? I thought all gears except 1st had a lock up and hence bypassed the torque convertor. I am no expert but if this was the case I do not beleive you could stand still in second without stalling the motor??? I could be completely wrong on this but this is the whole reason 1st gear uses the torque convertor and the other gears are locked for better more direct drive.
  18. It will bleep on the down shift if you try to select a lower gear than what the car would like i.e. shifting into a gear that will send the engine into the redline. In other words you shouldn't be selecting this gear yet, too early.
  19. I did try the fingers in the seal thing, but this did not resolve the issue. Anyhow only a day or so before I get home and pick the car up. Will see if they have done anything
  20. Sent an email to the dealer today and it sounds like the specialist has at least heard the rattles in my car, so that is a good start. I guess I will find out when I pick the car up next week. Can't say they didn't have enough time to fix any issues LOL Fingers crossed anyhow ;)
  21. Yes, you are right the problem becomes more annoying the longer it goes on without fixing. I have maybe 4 rattles / squeaks / noises in my car. The one by the drivers ear is the most annoying, this can be at 20 km/h or 100 km /hr and sometimes is just constant so is extremely annoying. There is another really unusual one coming from the roof, this is not a rattle but a squeak or vibration that only occurs at speed 100 km/hr. I have another rattle in the glovebox area and then I think there is something similar to the drivers side on the passengers side, but as I don't sit over there I don't know exactly. Anyhow, the dealer tells me that they have escalated this to a specialist from Lexus Sydney and he is in Melbourne this week and I don't need my car this week, so I am going to leave at the dealer for the week and see if they can fix the problems once and for all! So time will tell, they have 7 days to find and fix the problems, TBH finding I don't think will be an issue. Sometimes the rattle by the drivers ear can sometimes go but it always comes back so I am sure it will appear in 7 days. Mine is a 2010 and you are right because the car is so quite elsewhere the rattles and noise so exposed. Oh well, fingers crossed it does not end up another free car wash :P
  22. Ok it cost around $430.00 for the black one. If they made the white one like I asked it would have been $473.00 including GST. They are fiddly and a little pain in the ass but in the end I think they are a good investment if you do some long country drive, this is especially so for all the locusts.
  23. Good question, I think it was $300 - $400 dollars, I think, can really remember but will try to find receipt. Would have been better if they made WHITE as I asked but I could be bother stuffing around. I only use for long trips + 3 hours but maybe I shoudl use all the time as I found a chip in my bonnet the other day when fitting the BRA However if you leave on all the time I think it would get dirt behind and scratch the paint.
