  1. I'd definitely go for a darker colour. the 300h looks to be very interesting, more power than the 250 with less fuel usage. but I think will definitely have to go for the 350 next. Need the power!!!! exciting times coming up.
  2. Welcome Phil. Car is looking good, sorry to hear it got vandalised. Is the pic you attached after the paint job?
  3. did a quick photoshoot last night with my mates IS350 F-Sport. No photoshopping done yet. Much easier to shoot the IS350 at this location than it was to do my car.
  4. sneak peak pics also uploaded on AutoSpies starting from page 19... http://shows.autospi...iew-532/page19/ having a look at the close up interior pics, I quite like the red stitching that has been used. back seats look to have a bit more leg room as well. Or if you don't want to browse through all the other cars... http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2014-lexus-is-350-f-sport-live/full/#photo-5548003/
  5. Hey all, Video just uploaded on youtube on the prototype model of the 2014 IS350 F Sport. It looks like the younger sibling to the latest GS series. I quite like the front, looks angry and menacing. The rear is yet to grow on me. Doesn't look as good as the GS rear although I do like it when looking at it straight from the back. Interior looks cool to me. Enjoy... Discuss...
  6. Here is the link to the place I bought it from: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370713308421 I just checked my statement, actually cost me $94.45AUD. Shipping was free from them.
  7. it would most likely be a weekend especially if it is to start at 9am. I don't think many people would take the day off work just to go to a dyno day. I think Danny was meant to say it is a joint day with the Altezza owners. And because I'm bored at the moment.... People who have shown interest or my interpretation of showing interest: JML LEX51S PRV People who have said that they are in: K2sty1 123045007 mikenbn ?UESTLOVE Mr350 mikki I'm in as well but I'd like to know a set date. Makes planning around it a bit easier.
  8. The Vossen CV3's comes in 19's. The CV7's are the ones that only comes in 20's. I know that's the case in the states but not sure if it is any different down here. I wouldn't think so though but I could be wrong. As Danny said, technically, you can run 20's but then guard work would probably be involved, which I think is already too much hassle (ie rolling guards or maybe a little flare)
  9. Hey Marcus, Welcome to the club!! Congratulations on the purchase! Great colour choice as well :D (i'm not biased just because I have the same colour....) Depending on how bad the gutter rash is, you could look into having someone repair them. Not sure who can do it down in Melbourne. The other option is to get some new rims. Have fun trying to keep this car clean, not as bad as a black car though. If the scratches aren't that deep then maybe using the Meguirs Scratch-X 2.0 may get them out with a bit of elbow grease. Otherwise a rotary buffer and some cutting compound should get them out easily enough and make the car look brand new again.
  10. Looking good! Just needs some bigger rims to fill out the guards a little bit more
  11. Either dimensions for stocker or aftermarket. Im just after the overall dimensions. They should both be relatively similar in overall dimension except one should be thicker than the other.
  12. is anybody able to get rough dimensions of the rear sway bar by any chance? length, width, height? i'm not good at estimating dimensions by sight.
  13. Only problem with wheels is that they can become quite expensive and they tend to go hand in hand with doing suspension to achieve the desired look.
  14. Just off the top of my head: Meet and greet/some kind of info day (how to install stuff/clean/maintain car etc) Lexus events Dyno days Drag strip day Something around a track but I can see this as being a lot harder to implement. Photoshoots
  15. It depends on the car. Something with a turbo would get performance mods over aesthetics whereas for something like the IS, it would be more aesthetic mods over performance mods primarily because it is so hard to gain any more performance. Also depends on price of mods and what you can afford to do at the time. My top 5 mods to do in no particular order are: Intake Spoilers/Lips if required Wheels Tint if don't already have any Exhaust or as much of it as possible depending on how much I can afford at the time
  16. it was great. cooked turkey and made eggnog for the first time. got pretty drunk off the eggnog
  17. Welcome to the club Ghias. Congratulations on the purchase of the IS.
  18. New gen is so much nicer =D Nah your car is sick Wesley! Small gathering but nice to meet some new people.
  19. So apparently it is the end of the world.... I don’t care, I got an early Christmas present that arrived at my parents place =) YAY!!!! Bought off eBay for ~$96, much better than paying Lexus ~$500 odd for it. The colour match is perfect! And the fitment is also great! I wasn’t too surprised as I had read on the club Lexus forums that other people have had really good fitment and colour matching by these guys. It arrived so quickly as well. 6 days from the time I bought it and delivered to my door with full tracking. I could not be happier. Test fitment outside my parent’s place with the help of my little brother: So fast forward a couple of hours and I’m back at home and I couldn’t wait any longer so I installed the lip. In hindsight, it would have been a lot easier to install with two people so you can have one person holding it and making adjustments while the second person looks to see that it is in the middle and what not. Or if you can wait, you could buy the install diagram from Sewell in the US and wait for it to arrive... F!#!$# that!!! I’m not waiting... LOL Hopefully I don’t need to drive again tonight... It's just held on by 3M double sided tape with some adhesion bonding thing that came with it. Anyways, more pics....excuse the phone camera shots if they aren’t that good. I was just so excited I couldn’t be bothered running back upstairs to get my proper camera. Yes I'm a photo whore... Any chance to take photos, I'll do it. Leave me alone :D
  20. however long it takes you to get used to the size, shape, handling of the car and whenever you become comfortable driving it. I don't think anyone can really tell you how long you should drive before you mod it. no monthly meet up as far as i know.
  21. Hey mate, welcome to the club. Congratulations on picking up an IS as a first car. Being a first car, I would say get used to driving the car first. Most common mods for the car are air intake, exhaust (mid-pipes or axle back or both), wheels, springs or coilovers, bodykit, led lights. If you have navigation then the mod to enable inputs on the screen while driving. Have a search of the forums or else jump on clublexus.com for a heap of information.
  22. I can't comment too much on the takeda intake as I don't have that one but I would say the main reasons that you would get this intake over the f-sport is the sound and the cost of the takeda is much cheaper than an f-sport. I've got the f-sport intake and it makes a little bit more noise from stock but I'm just going off the youtube clips i've seen and it seems that the takeda one is a little bit louder(or maybe its just all in my head). the reasons i went with the f-sport was that i got it on sale from sewell and i got it shipped over here relatively cheaply compared to what sewell normally charges.... and i really like the OEM look utilising a panel filter inside a box rather than having a pod filter like the takeda uses (yes i know the covers will cover it up anyway but it's technically not completely enclosed).
