Nice cars, Welcome to the forum!

What I don't understand about the engine is it doesn't make much power or torque and needs to be rev'd like mad to actually get to what little power it makes and the engine uses quite a bit of fuel for the power and displacement, it's rated at 9.7l/100km.
Meanwhile Toyotas 3.5 V6 which they put in the Aurion (let's not get into the IS350) produces substantially more power and Torque (200kw and 336nm in 3.5 vs. the 153kw and 252nm in 2.5) while using *only* 9.9l/100km.
Is there any defense which can be made for the 2.5 v6 or is it just a weak point in an otherwise great car?
Rated fuel economy is not real world figures, some manufacturers tend to overstate (more likely) or understate these figures. I have not driven the aurion myself but I've read several reviews and tested fuel economy seems to be low to mid 10l ( eg here ) . My is250 averages 8.9-9.2 around town and that includes some *spirited driving*, whereas some members average more. Anyway, imo I don't think the is250 has poor fuel economy. I've seen worse and better.

The footwell light intensity can be controlled via the knob to the right of the steering wheel that also controls the instrument panel brightness. IIRC you turn the knob anticlockwise and the footwell light turns off.
Can the front passenger window be controlled via its own switch? If so, try holding the switch until the window is all the way down, then all the way up and try from the main controls again.

Lexus calls them L-premium wheels, l-scimitar is this one
looks like its name suggests.

It's more cosmetics than gadgets. Tyres will make the difference in times as well. both are the same engine wise.

Hey there,
Welcome to the forums and enjoy the car! Nice choice of colour.
-
Just info for you guys, carlos at chatswood said it would be around $950 for that front lip plus installation.
-
Interesting and detailed introduction! Welcome to the forum Henry and congrats on the purchase.
-
Just emailed Carlos (thanks coconut2001) at Chatswood and he says the GFX kit isn't a genuine Lexus part and that I'll need to order it from the U.S somewhere.
Idc, when did you contact Lexus Parra about the lip? Could be discontinued? Do you have contact number and person so i can enquire about it?
What did he mean? It is a genuine lexus part.
I believe it was discontinued though, think it was craig at chatswood who told me that.

Which lexus dealer/service is this at?
-
Many here have them on their cars past and present, including me.
Build quality 7/10. Out the box mine had rubber that wasn't affixed properly on one side, it doesn't exactly sit flush with the panels either. But I'm anal when it comes to things like that.
My tails have a row of led on the side quarter light that have gone out (probably due to wiring), and i've had it for probably 8 months. I don't think any others here with them (for years) has had any problem with theirs' though, just bad luck I guess.
Appearance wise they look nice, not as nice as genuine isf though.

Idc and coconut2001,
What's the part number or actual name of the GFX lip? I rang up both parra and chatswood and I don't think they quite understand what I'm talking about lol
Tell them it was an accessory option for 2006 to 2008 model years. front spoiler GFX/ground effects is what it's called. Not sure what part no. it was.
I remember carlos at chatswood brought me out an 09 gfx when i asked for 06 and tried to fit it to my car when i said its not right. oh well.
So im not too surprised if they are not sure.

Welcome to the forum Rob

That is a very decent price indeed, cheaper than what I was quoted for at chatswood which was $380 if i remember correctly.
-
That is very interesting, I would like to see the test on small-segment cars too.
-
Nice purchase, welcome to the forum Kevin, pics and a build thread should go here

Welcome to the forum Elgin

How much is very decent?

^ looks so dodgy
This is what the keys are supposed to look like
-
Yes all is200's came with central locking/ on key remote.
Two should have came with your car.
Edit: what does your keys look like?
-
Yeah I've checked on there, but postage is rediculous in price :( know anywhere besides online stores? Or part numbers for them?
No do not get it from the US, part number 5819253060 will not fit (dead pedal).
The AU spec has alum pedal assembly 78110-53020 (best to check with Lexus parts)
US has spec 78110-53040 / 78110-53041
Though US spec brake and gas will fit
Edit: and I'm assuming you have an automatic because it's a sports lux. therefore the part numbers above are for automatic.

Make sure area is clean, no wax or polish on it etc.
You can use adhesion promoters to enhance the adhesion to surface. (3m also sells this specifically for automotive exterior parts)
Car manufacturers use 3m all the time for exterior trims without any use of bolts (ie is200 door trim).
My Finished Is250
