  2. Corey I'll be catching up with Tony Head later this week (Tony has the other Targa Altezza) and will ask him what injector size he's running. He has two engines, one alot more worked than the other. Neither run turbo. Boothy
  3. The Getrag would be a good box but they are very expensive and not easy to find. Yes I do have a complete W55 Supra 5spd box adapted to a lexus bellhousing. The gearbox cost me $650, adapter plate was $450 and the bell housing was $100. Let me know if he's keen. Nice adaption. Boothy
  4. Exeter Yes the possiblity of heading over to do battle in the land of OZ is on the cards. I'm are looking at the Bathhurst 24hr or the Tasmania Targa. I would prefer the Bathhurst but we'll have to wait and see. Need to get the NZ Targa and next years enduro races completed first. Will keep you informed. Boothy
  5. Hi Guys, Great to catch up with both Keith & Diane before the show. The sign looked good next to the car and I hope you get some interest from it. My car picked up the "Best Toyota" at the show :D , so I was pretty wrapped considering it's not finished yet. Should be just about complete by end of next month. Keith or Diane. Did either of you guys pick your sign up? My son picked the car up from the show and he didn't realise whos it was. Let me know in case you didn't so that I can track it down. Boothy
  6. Theres many ways of going about this and many reasons for poor brakes. The most common reason for bad/poor brakes is because people play around with a pretty good set up in the first place. 1. Too harder compound which normally requires higher temps to work effectively. 2. Too softer compound which throw brake dust every where and wear parts away quicker. Braided lines will give you a harder pedal but you must make sure that the braided lines you are using are certified otherwise they could fail vehicle inspection. Check that they have the correct cert numbers attached. There are a number of good quality pads brands around like PAGID etc, but the Altezza come with a pretty good set up factory standard, ie; good diameter (296mm) and thickness disc (32mm) and a twin 45mm calliper each side, on the SXE10 model. Just be carefull and check with your local Toyota dealer as they also can offer you a better pad choice. Boothy :)
  7. If you guys are keen on the kit currently on my Altezza, let me know. It's on show at this weekends Autosalon Show, Auckland Showgrounds, and I've had a set of moulds taken off the complete kit. If anyones keen just let me know after checking it out. Got other stuff and will put a list together over the next couple of weeks. Boothy.
  8. Answer to your qestion Keith, Two pumps will be used in the race car. I'm running a pump from the main fuel cell up to a surge tank and then a hi-volume pump to the engine. This helps when the car gets thrown around and under acceleration. Boothy

  10. The contact person who designs and manufactures the light weight chromoly flywheels is Dave from DVM Design in Hamilton. He can be contacted through his website st: www.dvmdesign.co.nz or give him a call on 027 554-4663. There was an article in the NZ Performance Car Mag, May 2004, page 80. He had designed, manufactured and supplied a flywheel for the mags "Project - D" car. Give him a call if interested. Good guy to deal with. Boothy
  11. Theres a guy here in Hamilton who designs and manufactures light weight flywheels out of chomolly. He has designed one for my V8 lexus engine. I made contact with him after reading an article a couple of months ago in the NZ Performance mag. Great guy to deal with. I'll get his contact info tomorrow for anyone interested. Boothy
  12. It's a 95 Soarer 4 ltr engine with a many extras. Fitting the engine isn't that difficult, but it's all the other things required. Once Keith has completed the article he's doing, you will all see whats involved. Boothy

  14. Hi Guys, As discussed the other day with Keith, I'd be happy to supply you with as much information about the car with photos as you need. The gearbox and shifter has arrived from the USA and most engine parts have been either made or not too far away from arriving also. The car has at last been painted and I'm going to check it out later this morning. The roof will be put back on next week along with the glass put back in, and I should be re-assembling the car the week after next. Got to watch the Aussie V8's at Pukekohe, so there will not be work done that weekend on the car. Anyway, I'm happy to take more photos and give a list of whats going into the car, meeting / races that we'll be competing in and arrange to catch up with Keith over the next few weeks when it suits. I will put together a list of spares that were taken out of the car for sale, i.e: Seats, sunroof and roof skin, airbags, bonnet(hood) etc. Who was the guy looking for a cig lighter and something else? because they are there.   15. Hi to all. Live in Hamilton and you will not see my Yellow Altezza to often on the road doing the shopping. Targa / full on Race Car. :D I'll try to keep you guys up to date with progress and photos more often as things come together. The car is currently in the spray booth and I should be putting it some what back together over the next couple of weeks. The engine is still a month or so away and the gearbox arrives from the USA in two weeks. The car will go back up the Auckland to have the knife blade sway bars fitted as well as another fuel cell. The air-jacks & brake plumbing as well as the wiring loom made up and fitted along with the MOTEC computer and stack dash. Boothy
