I just wonder if anyone has installed the 3000k (Yellow) HID for the fog light? If so, any picture can be shown ?
Thanks in advance.

hey guys....i picked up the car on Tue. Finally Finally Finally............the rattle seems being fixed. Happy man here
I 've been driving for few days, so far as gd.....its still got some minor dash squeak from the LHS somehow (it wasn't there), but i'm so happy with the result already. Big thanks for Chatswood Lexus. esp Chris (the service manager.)
i can finally enjoy my IS350.... B)
-
hi Ben, i haven't called the Lexus relation yet. To be honest, even if i
called, the result will be negative...its nothing they would do about.
I bet what they gonna say "Oh sorry to hear that bah bah bah.....plz
send the car back to the dealer, n we guarantee the car will be fixed
etc....." i don't want to get myself into the loop for nothing. I always
appreciate the service i've been given by Lexus. But this time, it takes
2+ weeks. I start to worry about they hv done, and how they treat my
car. -
Hey Ben, how much did you sell it for? have you upgraded to a GS or you have already sick of Lexus ?
CT is crap. The loan car i 've been given is a CT200h. The road/wind noise is just a pain, Good fuel consumption tho...
anyway...with my car.....damn..its still with Lexus. Its been almost 2 weeks already. The service manager rang me today. He said the rattle is still on/off. (He insisted there 's nothing wrong with the panel etc......)
He will be on leave tmr, so can't work on my car. It means my ride will be staying in the workshop another weekend.
What should i do guys? Should i just pick it up and leave the rattle as is? The interesting thing is that service manager will be on 3 week holiday (start on Wed). So technically...he has another 2 days to work on my car..... if he can fix it in 2 days, why my car has been sitting there for 2 weeks? <_<

my car is still with Chatswood Lexus now. its been more than a week already. The service manager rang me last Fri. He said the rattle is not 100% fixed, its kinda on/off still. Am getting a bit frustrated about my IS350 now. I really love the car, but i just can't live with that rattle. Is there any Lexus Customer Service Department out there? I want to launch a formal complaint about the rattle!!!!!
Am not sure if am just too picky or what? but hey !!!! if i just want a reliable running car from pt A -> pt B, i would buy a Corolla straight away. I won't care and complain if there is rattle or any sort of noise. But come on.....its Lexus !!! the $ i paid for my 350 = 3 brand new Corolla.....sorry about the rant...am just a bit frustrated.
-
hi guys, just a quick update for this.
I have already sent the car back (third time) to the dealer AGAIN for the fix !!!! its the THIRD time !!!!!
They kept my car for a week (the first 2 appointments), however the rattle has never been fixed.....
If they cannot get it fixed this time, i think its time to accept and live with this annoying rattle.... OR maybe i would sell the car coz of this !
-
oh...forgot to mention......i only changed the brake pads (Bendix General CT P-DB1852GCT) for my previous IS250. Noises stopped + less brake dust. Try to replace the pads first before changing the rotors.
-
you are not alone John. Mine IS350, and my previous IS250 both hv this problem. I thought this should be fixed under warranty, unfortunately its not the case.
As Atlantis mentioned, stay away from the genuine one. DBA or RDA discs r way better.
-
oh my samsung
another one?
hey Danny, i just dropped off my car to fix the rattle from the air vent. To be honest, am not sure how do they confirm that the rattle is being fixed coz the rattle only happens when the faulty part is warmed. Am sure they will do something, and trying to have it fixed. But......the problem is, do they really drive the car long enough to ensure its being fixed? i would doubt abt it. anyway......i wish the technician can do the magic this time.
-
Just dropped off my car to dealer for the second fix. I truly wish they can fix the rattles this time. The technician drove my car this time, and he 100% noticed the noise. But damn........ when he drove my car, ( i hope i was wrong) i noticed there is a new/another squeaking noise somewhere around the satnav screen..... come on Lexus, dun make me depressed coz of that. :(
-
Price of new ISs should be similar to the current IS rite? Mid $70k would be the Drive away price for IS350 Fsport ^_^ ?
-
i think you guys are way too picky in these kinda problems lol
least it aint mechanical problems of other makes
i have rattles and i just accept it
the car itself is way to quiet for it's own good
i thought you were also the one to complain the rattling noises. Are we way too picky ?
but yes samsung your case is abit more than normal though
take it back
show them the video
yea....i will.
i will actually present the noise to the mechanic one more time (or maybe ask him to drive the car this time)
-
it seems like mine is more serious. I was driving 50km/h when recording the videos.
i already emailed Chatswood Lexus, and try to organize another appointment. Hopefully they can fix the problem this time, instead of having the back and forth process. Serioulsy.......if they can't fix it eventually(touch wood), i would consider to sell the car becoz of this. Like i said, i love the IS350 so much, but i just can't live with any sort of rattle/squeak noises.
-
i just recorded few videos for the annoying rattling noise. Can you guys really live with that noise ?
-
Thanks Ben to list up all different types of rattle/squeak noise.
Am now even more worry that changing the air vent won't fix the problem. As you said ->, "From memory, there was a rattle around that area and it disappeared when I pressed two fingers on the bottom corners of the air vent assembly itself. Let the pressure off and it would come back again. This was a metallic type rattle." , mine is still there regardless of how hard i put pressure on the area.
i will put up a video later on to show the rattle.
i think these rattling noises happen on most IS.
Am not sure how many owners out there are kinda accept these noises. Or they just think rattling noise is normal, and it happens on every car. (one of my mechanic fd actually said that!!) i know IS250/350 ain't >100k car, but still....at least they r classified as luxury car rite?
-
i had a pretty long drive today. i noticed the rattle actually is coming from the R/H of air vent. damn.... i always think its from the speedo area.
i really hate the rattling noise, its killing me. Am still not sure if i should take it back to dealer, n give it another go.
As mentioned, the rattle will only happen when the dash or whatever area is warmed. It might be a bit hard for the technician to fix.
am being an unpleased owner :(
-
the plastic panel directly below the steering column between that and the knee airbag panel. Was hitting/rubbing on a metal bracket/surface and stopped as soon as I popped the plastic clips out of their retainers. Came back as soon as I pushed it back in.
Thanks Ben for the info. The rattling noise i hv is somewhere inside or around the dash speedo (not underneath of the steering)
anyway....I just checked out that plastic panel. I noticed there's only one plastic clip, is that panel removable at all ? (hopefully its the same panel you're referring to) should i try to pull it out?

apologies for bring up this thread.
My 350 has the same rattle problem. I took the car to Lexus Chatswood for the fix earlier this week. They kept it for 3 days, and i picked up it yesterday.
Unfortunately, the problem is still there. The annoying bit is the instrument display or somewhere behind the steering has to be warmed up to cause the rattle. I doubt thats the reason the technician might think the rattle is fixed. I actually presented the rattling noise to one of their technician there, he said he kinda understand how to fix the rattle. I was quite happy when he said that.....But.....rattle is still there now :(
Hm......should i live with the noise or take the car back for another fix? i duuno if i am expecting too much? My car is 2011 model, to me... it should be rattle free rite?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thx for sharing.
hm...somehow i feel the front looks like Mazda 3, and the rear looks like Accord Euro......
still looks gd tho.

Since it has been more than 18 months since I changed tyres and have done over 34,000kms on the Yokos, thought I'd post an update....
Had no issues with them whatsoever, plenty of tread left, they still run true and silent, grip has been extremely good in the dry and very good in the wet - not noticed any wheel spin on occasional fast acceleration at traffic lights.
Its good to hear.
Am about to change mine (front one). Michelin Pilot Super Sport is my other option. I just rang up a couple of the tyre shops, unfortunately, none of them hv it in stock. They only hv Pilot Sport at this point. Not sure if its that much difference between the Michelin Pilot Super Sport ($300) and Pilot Sport ($230).
-
Happy new year everyone. I wish i can meet you guys some day in 2013. lol
-
it looks good. Do you hv any plan to have it carbon fibre wrapped ?
i quoted the price. its $250....quite pricy.....
-
Whats starting to annoy me is that sometimes when you hit the gas, not hard mind you, but just gently the engine revs then it kicks in and you lurch forward, thats the best way to describe it.
Instead of a smooth take off.
Anyone else experience that ?
yea...i know what you mean..mine is the same. Hm...it doesn't bother me tho (if compare to the rattle issue)
heres what i do in traffic
i put it in sports mode
and leave it in first gear for stop start bumper to bumper
thats how i usual drive in traffic
thx for the advice, will try it Dan. hope it helps
-
9.3L (city driving) ? really? I never thought my IS350 can do it.
yea.....probably my foot is a lemon...hahahaha. but seriously.....like i said, most of the time i travel during the peak (+short trip), prob its the real reason i get the bad fuel consumption figure....( come on Danny ....how hard i can drive during the peak? 95% of time i travel at 40km/h....thx for Sydney traffic. lol )
New Shoes Fitted (Michelin Ps3)
in Lexus IS250 / Lexus IS250C / Lexus IS350 / Lexus IS350C Club / Lexus IS-F / IS300h

just fitted my car a pair of new shoes (Michelin PS3). $290 each. Not bad for me.
The road noise is worse than i thought. Apart from the noise, am quite happy with it.
btw......Do i need wheel alignment after changing the new tyres (front). Its funny that the steering wheel is off-centre when the car is actually going straight. it tends to be more left now.
