hi everyone, i do have the dash rattle as well. Mine is SL so i have Mark Levinson audio package So, probably its not the empty space to trigger the rattle.
Apart from the dash rattle, i also have the rattling noise at right rear door too. it happens when the car is turning.......
I think Lexus should do something, and address the problem on the next IS. i just think its not acceptable that having the rattling noise on luxury car.

Hi Samsung001, let us know what you think when you have installed. It is an easy install to do yourself. Hope you like it as much as I do. I think it also sounds a bit better after a few weeks of use.
i will get my fd to install it tomorrow. i m not confident to DIY it lol.....i wish it won't be too loud (that's always my concern)
-
Hi everyone, i believe the exhaust will be arrived by this week. Is there any workshop you guys can recommend (near Macquarie Park) to install it?
-
Oic, the sports luxury looks far better than the other prestige+emv then, as they're both asking for 38k
would asking for 35k cash in hand too steep?
tbh, I don't want more to spend more than 38k including rego/insurance
maybe you can try to get the earlier yr model. I believe IS250 is quite reliable, dun afraid to get older one (if budget is your problem)....and yea...i also suggest you to get Sporty Luxury.

Hi Samsung
Where about r u located??? I hav tanabe perhaps I can take u for a spin
thx for the offer mate....Im in Macquarie Park area. what abt u ?
but ...i already ordered the Greddy one, hope it won't be too loud
-
Wanna swap? meet you half way! haha
haha :) Its funny you are asking me to swap, which means u also think Greddy is better than the Fujitsubo one ..
i bought the Greddy exhaust at around $1000 AUD (including shipping), and u're selling yours at 1100? plus its an used one....so.. no thanks....lol
i think you bought the exhaust from another forum member rite? i wonder how much u paid for him.
-
@samsung001 it sounds nothing like stock. The audio in that video doesn't capture the sound difference at all.
Stock exhaust = Silent.
Fujitsubo = Deep + Noticeable.
Most people who want to maintain the luxury element go for it, as did I, now I want more of a roar so I'm looking to swap.
If you're local hit me up for a demo. Im in gold coast
thx for the offer, i wish i can check out how it sounds like in person, but i'm in NSW,.....also, i just bought the Greddy one.
good luck for the sales mate.
-
hey Danny....you are quite right. the sound is pretty much the same as the stock exhaust....its a bit too quiet..lol
-
you want sounds thats not annyoing go greddy
you want sound that your neighbours know ur coming home get hks
u want near
thx for the advice Danny......its funny u said "no sound get fuju or tanabe". are they pretty much same as the stock exhaust ?
-
The decibel scale is logarithmic... every 3dB increase is a doubling in loudness, so the GReddy would be a *BLEEP*eload louder if the Fujitsubo is actually 82dB (seems very conservative to me).
thx for the advice. so....maybe i should get the Fuji one.
Why not a Tanabe if you are after quiet?
somehow i dun like Tanabe
-
Hi everyone, i have read a few posts in relation to the exhaust choice. Am after the quiet type, so these 2 (FUJITSUBO LEGALIS R & GREDDY AXLE BACK EXHAUST SP ELITE) would be suitable for me. But i'm still having trouble to pick one of these. They are quite similar (price, look, db level etc....) i db level of Greddy is 91db, which is slightly louder than Fujitsubo one 82db....i believe figure difference shouldn't be noticeable rite? Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.......

greddy will make 15 of the old style for me at a group buy price if i can get 15 ppl interested iwill contact them again.
You actually NEED to do ecu reset to get any noticeable difference.
Hi Lex51S, are you still interested to organize the group buy?
-
Hi Samsung001, I have not had the car on a dyno, but will hopefully if there is another dyno day. Apart from a much better sound, from the seat of my pants, I think I have more performance than standard. I think I have more mid torque and it did perform much better on the track than the previous session.
Yes, I did disconnect the battery while I installed all (about 2 hours) and I assume this reset all.
Get the Greddy!
Hi PRV, thanks for the advice. btw...i know yours is the new SP one, just wondering if it sounds similar to the previous version (GREDDY SPECTRUM ELITE)
-
Hi Lex51S, am definitely interested in getting the old style (GREDDY SPECTRUM ELITE EXHAUST). But the problem is its pretty hard to get 15 ppl.
-
Hi PRV, am about to purchase a Greddy exhaust too. I do prefer the SE (the blue trips one) over the SP. Unfortunately, i believe SE has been discontinued. I hv to buy the SP instead, wish it will sound similar to SE.
I might get the K&N filter later on as well. Honestly, apart from the sound, any noticeable improvement on performance?
oh...btw......did you reset the ECU as well (as suggested by other forum members)

I believe David's car is sports luxury, so Bi-Xenon lights are standard. I would presume they should aim properly rite ?
-
Hi David, the after market one should cost around $50-80. Its not that expensive, and i believe they last long as well.
Hi Atlantis,
As for the k thing, (correct me if i'm wrong), the difference between 8000k and 6000k basically is the colour. Blue Vs White.
-
Hi David, sorry to hear that. However, like others said, its not expensive to purchase a new set. Change to 8000k one to make it looks nicer :)
-
that's ridiculous. Is it called warranty and good service by Lexus? I wouldn't even pay a cent for any repairing cost if the car is under factory warranty. Maybe writing to consumer affairs would force them to face the issue.
-
I do have this noise. Some ppl claim the noise is normal for IS250, but some say is abnormal. The best way is do is get Lexus to inspect the car. (Hm...but...do they normally say the car is normal?)
-
hi guys.....this one is the cat back with mid-pipe package. Its $850 USD.
If the mid-pipe already costs abt 350-450, this cat back with mid-pipe package is quite a good buy.
-
Oh.....so everyone on this forum doesnt hv the jerky gear change at all
am i just too sensitive? Or my car actually has gear change problem?
-
Yea..it's normal mode. I didn't know the car take off in 2nd......But am quite sure the car actually take off in 1st coz I hv the gear box display on the dash to show it. Hopefully it's not something wrong with my car
-
Its good to hear you have sorted the problems. I can't wait for mine.
Update!
Report back after 75000KM at Chatswood Dealer.
Problem 7 - Braking Noise with Aftermarket Brake Pads
Sorted! Well, 99.9% Sorted! Got the dealer to apply the Bendix Brake Lubricant, works beautifully! No more squeaking!
Highly recommendated to anyone having braking noise problem. The lubricant is also available at AutoBahn for $2.5 a pack.
Advice from Sherlock - ONLY apply a little bit between SHIM and back of the pads, also a little on the lips of piston.
Problem 8 - Engine Clicking Noise
Sorted! Dealer confirmed direct injection noise... my mind is now in peace.
Question 5 - Recommended Non-Dealer Service Workshop
Still open for suggestions, but I took the car to Chatswood Lexus this time and very happy with them.
So I guess I'll go back to them for future major services until the car depreciates to a certain low value.
Question 9 - Auto Folding Side Mirrors
Dealer confirmed Pre Aug 2007 IS250 DOES NOT have this feature!
So aftermarket solution only -> Ashpoint http://au.lexusowner...showtopic=10473
So this concludes all my newbie questions, thanks all that helped (I really hope more people can share their knowledge on this forum!!!)
Happy to leave thread open for comments or close off when the MOD sees fit. Cheers!

don't worry about the paddle shifters coz IS250 won't shift like DSG...it takes more than a sec to figure out what to respond.
