  1. I, too, can tell that the newer ML system isn't as great as the older ML systems in the 1st series IS. I actually picked up the lower quality of the system while on the test drive. It's pretty noticeable. It may be due to the fact that the new ML systems are made in china and not in Japan as the original systems were. Lexus may have decided to change parts in the ML.

oh....i thought i just picked up a lemon....but apparently everyone is on the the same boat....damn. i thought facelifted model is always better. but how come Lexus is doing the other way around? do you guys know what parts have they changed? is it just the speakers?

btw.... i just realized we hv quite a few ppl on the forum upgraded from IS250 to IS350. hm......have u guys been asked this kinda question:

"Oh!!!! is it your new car? how come it looks the same? what the differences are. 250 isn't it the same as 350 but more features?" :( i bet some ppl might think i just wasted $ to get the same but new car...lol

  2. Yes FrankyX. these are the figures am getting. Not sure if its becoz of 80% the time am driving during the peak + short distance (abt 7 km to work). So, technically i drive 14km in total per day (Mon-Fri).

My fuel light has just on in the morning...but man...only 370km on the clock (am surprised). thought it should be on somewhere around 420-450km....

  3. I find the road noise quite loud in my is350

yes. i feel the same too (esp when comparing with my IS250). not sure if its becoz of 350 has bigger & wider wheels.

Anyway.....am stepping in the second week of my 350 ownership. Am just loving to drive the car still.

    Prons (just imo):

    1) Nice & presentable car with aggressive & powerful engine....Man...Its damn quick, honestly i dun think its any slower than EVO, STI, 370Z that kinda class.......

    2) it sounds great (with my Greddy exhaust)

    3) F-sport elements. Sporty seats, suspension, brakes etc...........

    Cons (just imo):

    1) Fuel consumption......hm. not sure if i should raise it....i've got a pretty bad figure. mine is about 15 litres/100 km, while i had abt 12litres/100 km with my previous 250

    2) Rattle issue ( i think its been covered by many posts on this fourm). Unfortunately, mine is one of these having the problem. I have a rattle problem from the dash (driver side), somewhere behind the steering. I might bring it to Chatswood Lexus for the fix.

    3) Lower quality of Mark Levinson Audio system. Like i mentioned, i can tell the sound quality is not as good as sport luxury one ( not sure if i just get a lemon )

  4. I can't comment too much on the takeda intake as I don't have that one but I would say the main reasons that you would get this intake over the f-sport is the sound and the cost of the takeda is much cheaper than an f-sport.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Yes. The reason why i prefer the Takeda one just becoz of the cost, and obvioulsy the noise as well. I believe there is no intake for IS can generate the noticeable extra power even tho they claim there's something like 5-10 extra hp on dyno test. But i dont really believe it.

With the takeda one, i thought the cover thing can really seperate the heat. So.......any chance the performance will be affected (esp the hot day in summer.....) i really don't want to have a better and more aggressive noise, but the car is actually slower...lol

  5. I also have a 2011 IS350 F Sport with 22,500kms bought new in September 2011 and is in absolute as new condition.

Recently bought a new Mazda BT50 dual cab and was offered $46,000 trade in for the IS. That was the best price they could get from a wholesaler after 2 weeks of ringing around. The actual dealer I dealt with wasn't interested in trading it/trying to sell it.

Refused the offer and bought the Mazda with no trade.

Have advertised the IS on carsales for 2 weeks and not a cracker at $56,500 so today put it up for the 3 Day Dealer Offer option to see if any dealers offer me anything for it.

Had one offer this afternoon for $15,000 but suspect that was a piss-take.

After the 3 day period it will go back on carsales (if there's no decent offers) for $54,500ono in the hope I can get $50k+ for it.

Can I ask why you're selling?

mehhh 46k for trade in. I guess thats the convenient when it comes to trade in. I was expecting around $50k+ something.

Reason for selling: my wife is pregnant, and expecting around August 2013. IS wont be suitable car for baby ( rear middle seat way to small ).

    Will be getting ML63 2013

    cheers

why do you need to put the baby seat at the rear middle seat? i put mine on the rear left. i haven't had any problem at all

oh but its a nice upgrade tho (ML63) :)

  6. Hi guys,

Big thanks to Danny for installing the Takeda cai for me yesterday, and also my HIDs smile.png

Just wanted to share, its alot of fun and feels great....love the sound too...

One thing I have noticed after alot of fanging, the egg smell seems to have gone! (i used to get it really bad)

    thanks

    Z

Sorry to bring up the old post.

Hi Zed, i want to a get a intake. Any chance you could provide some feedback of your Takeda intake?

Why would you choose this over the F-sport one ?

Am still thinking either to get the F-sport or Takeda one. Or maybe K&N ..lol

  7. I dun hv the mid-pipe mate. I believe it would be too loud (with my greddy), isn't it?

But, am planning to get the intake, either F-sports or K&N. which one would you recommend ?

i hv checked out some videos on both, honestly i really can't notice the sound difference, n they both sound pretty cool ;)

yeah my car does idle abit louder than my little brothers is250

and the 350 has more of a hm..

    how should i put it

electronic hum noise (i think injectors)

mate you will love the greddy sp and invidia set up on the 350

sounds like a turbo v6 on high revs

  8. Danny: yea. i did. Its the good thing to upgrade to 350, so all mods can be saved. (trying to find an excuse ! lol)

Sapphire Cam: thx for the info. yes i do have ventilated seats (only heating tho) for 350. My ex-250 has both. Anyways its good to hv more room at rear not sure if its just my imagination hahahaha....

i didn't know even speakers need to "wear in". i thought speaker should hv a better sound quality when its newer.

Oh... the other thing is i find that the annoying injection noise (the diesel-like tricking sound) is even louder than the IS250...i thought facelifted models should be more refined, but obviously its not the case.

  9. I always want a IS350 F-sport. But, considering the new IS series will be out next year, it might not be a good idea to get it at this stage. (i always think MAYBE i should get one after the new one is out, so the price will be cheaper). My mind has been kinda back and forth........anyway, i failed the temptation this time. hahaha.

i just love the car so much. its so quick, n the seats are more comfortable than my previous 250. i feel the back seat has more room as well (correct me if i'm wrong). Am so happy now.

    Just one question:

My ex-250 and my 350F-sport both have Mark Levinson Audio system. I think they both have 13 speakers, and everything should be the same right? Somehow i can tell the sound quality of my 350 is worse than my ex-250. I dunno if i should say its a huge difference. But at least my ears can notice it. any expert here can answer? Thanks.

ps: i wish the value of current IS wont' slump after the new series is released. That's always my concern

  10. I was going to ask that exact same question. Has anyone drained it down the the 0km and gone to negative territory?

If so, how many extra km's did you get out of it??

Does anyone know how much fuel is left in the tank when the display reads 0km to empty? I thought I read somewhere it is 8L, but would like confirmation.

I still drove for extra 50km after 0km showing on the display.

  11. am not sure if upgrading to a IS350 Fsport is a gd idea (but actually i always want to do it too hahahahha)

Reason ? obviously....the 3rd generation of IS will be out soon. Considering the depreciation and all these sort of stuffs, its better to wait for the next gen of IS 350 instead.

BUT DAMN.......Lexus has been luring me to get a IS350 Fsport. THey just recently sent me an email to promote the 2.5% interest rate finance.

    Its such a temptation man.

  12. Hi everyone, my friend just installed the exhaust for me yesterday. My fd is a mechanic, so the installation for him is just a no brainier thing. He got it done in 15 mins.

I felt exciting to first hit the engine start button after the installation. (you know that kinda feeling that you are waiting for something good to happen ? hahaha)

anyway, first engine start with the Greddy exhaust, my first response was hm.....would that be a bit too quiet? how come it so much sounds like the stock one? (probably I was sitting in cabin with all doors and windows closed while the first start) Obviously, the reason why i picked Greddy over the Fuji one is i want a bit of the exhaust note but of coz not too loud. To be honest, i can't even hear the exhaust note if i turn the music on. If its already louder than the Fuji one, basically i can say Fuji one is pretty much a stock exhaust hahahhaa...

Overall, i'm still happy with it, but i would prefer its a bit louder. Hope it helps for ppl choosing the exhaust option.

OH.....ALSO.......there is a bit of alignment issue. The RHS of the exhaust looks perfectly centered. However, LHS one just doesn't look right at all, it is positioned more left. As you know, its all bolt-on. My fd said there is no way i can adjust it and make it balanced. Is it true ?
