  1. Yes there are more options for 18inch mags, but they look to small in dia on the ISF.  with too much guard to tyre clearance, & the speedo would also be way out, but for the track they would be fine.   I like Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2’s on my 19 inch track rims, they grip well, fill the guards nicely & are very quiet.

P.S.  I have order from RR Racing, there 2 piece front rotors for the ISF to use at the track.  looking forward to testing them next year.

So last night was a blast!

Had some decent runs. Faced off against some big cars.

to be brutally honest, my car even with all the mods on it was still in the bottom 30% of cars there. Its all about forced induction. Guys buy a $15k Supra, spend $20k on mods and have a weapon!!! I did race some farken quick Golf Rs - 300KW at all 4 wheels with 30% less weight - only beat me by a car length.

Beat a couple of cars including a Supra - had a grudge match with a 2017 Audi TT RS - 300kw at the fly - weighs much less than us, but with a 0-100 in less than 3.7 secs!!! (compared to our 4.9 secs stock) - i won one, he won the other.

I will be putting on the semi slicks and lighter OEM wheels next time.

If i can get 2 additional cars to come with me next month, i will book a garage which we can all share costs. Will need to be in the next few days as tickets sell out quick https://rollracing.com.au/ approx cost is $65 for you plus supporter vehicle.  + $20 for daily racers license or $65 for the entire year. These things are always good as a group, is very social and a cheap night out with plenty of action!!

Will be getting the final POST dyno pull w/c 4th December. Ill share footage and figures with you all

It great you had a fun time.  All these small AWD pocket rockets with launch control are very fast off the mark, but by 50 kph there advantage is gone, as RWD vehicle will have traction by then.   Starting the race at 50kph, the pocket rockets advantage off the mark is over, & KWs always rule.

P.S.  Looking forward to your next dyno run.

  3. I could change them myself,  but I get the good people at Lexus of Chatswood service to change them over for me, when she is in for her pre track inspection.   they also fit my track mags before I do a track day with them.   & they change them back after the track day at her post track inspection.

Track days are so much fun.

    Thanks guys for the feedback!!

I've just ordered a full set of DBA T3 Rotors from Brake Direct website. Price & Link here:

    http://brakesdirect.com.au/aus/catalogsearch/result/?q=vehicle&make=Lexus&model=IS&generation=XE20%2B%282005-2013%29&submodel=IS%2BF

Going to pair them with the Project Mu NS400 for the street. Although Brake Direct did seem to recommend Remsa pads over Project Mu pads. I might give it a try next time.

Now I just need to figure out if the Project Mu NS400 compound can work with HC800 on the same rotor surface when going to the track, so I can just swap the pads.

If you use the same rotors with different pads, they have to wear into each other as they are not perfectly flat,  but they will work.  I’m sure driving around and out to the track,  plus after a 20 minute session on the track they should be ok.

When I take my ISF to the track,  I have a spare set of OEM front rotors with Project Mu RC 09 pads, marked and labelled so they go back in the same position on the ISF, and in the same place in the front brake calipers.  That way they are match perfectly to the rotors every time I use them.      As the rear brakes don’t do as much work as the fronts, (only 20 to 30%)  I only change the pads over to Project Mu RC 09.   they have to wear in, but after driving around and out to the track, plus a 20 minute session they are fine.

One of the things that I like about the spare set of OEM front rotors for the track is, it keeps my street OEM front rotors looking like new.

  5. It’s a fun vehicle to drive, & it’s great having a vehicle that I don’t mind if it gets dirty.   I’d like to get out to the corner posts of the states, the Simson desert, or down by a nice river for lunch somewhere.  The FJ (Tonka truck) will do it easily.  The good people at Lexus of Chatswood service are looking after it for me.      I’ve still got the GS as well, I’m turning into a car yard.

Blasphemy!! Of course its for you John, this has your name written all over it  haha!

If it was $10k i would guinea pig it for sure.

The supercharger does look good, & yes it would be great fun to have, but I have something else to spend money on.  I purchased another vehicle in April this year, I picked up a demo 2016 Toyota FJ Cruiser.    and it needs some extra bits, to turn it into an adventure fun machine, for us & our dog to do some travels.

A bull bar, winch & uhf radio are going to be installed next Monday, & more stuff to follow.   So the ISF will have to wait for its next expensive accessory.

  7.

Project Mu NS400 pads are good for the street, & low dust which is great.

I have used Project Mu NS400 on the rear brakes, & HC800 on the fronts at Eastern Creek.   the HC800 work well.   the NS400 get to hot & fade at the track,  but are good for street use.      at the track I now use Project Mu RC 09 Club Racer pads on all 4 rotors, they are great at the track,  but are a little noisy for street use,  (unless you like that)  they also make a lot of dust.    I use OEM rotors.     Good 2 piece rotors at the track would be better.

First and last time I ever do a group buy that’s for sure. Mid July is when I handed over my money, was told 6-8 weeks... it has now been 16 weeks!!!??? Pretty much 4 months. And then I see people on the forum getting them privately from the states so quickly.

I’ll be honest I feel like I just gave some random 3k and I’m just getting scammed!!

I cannot believe how long this PPE header group buy is taking.  considering 2 people in the club, ordered there’s from RR Racing, & it took them less than 3 weeks.  Mine were here from PPE in about 4 week.    There is no way PPE would take this long,  they would go out of business.   Christmas is almost here!!

I agree, this group buy has been a learning experience.    I’d save time, which is money,  and order them myself.

Your ISF looks good.   the rear mag wheels in your photo are on the wrong side, and should to be swapped over.   the blades are facing the wrong way,  the fronts are correct.   happy ISF motoring.
