I sit what I would call fairly upright and close to the wheel for 6' and have not troubles with seating position, I do sit as low as the seat goes though.

I have to rake my seat waaaaaay back so my head doesn't hit the roof.. Thats with the seat on the lowest setting too. Have you got a sunroof?

Here is a video from my ISF at Wakefield on Wednesday.  what a fun day it was.

    I hope this works

What exhaust is that? Sounds awesome!!!

Also, how does the video / app get the info from the revs / speed / g meter etc? Very cool..

  5. FYI, the Bilstein shocks actually made a great difference, stock ride height, but much more compliant over small bumps and imperfections. Its still firm, but feels like its more glued to the road now and less jittery than stock. A very worthwhile investment for me as i am in the car 4 hours a day working in real estate.

  6. Hi all,

I bought these springs and bump stops for my 2009 ISF, with the intention of installing them with some Bilstein shocks. But the shocks i bought only fit the 2008-2010 springs, not 2011 onwards. I really should have thought it through haha!! These will be softer / more compliant for those users who have a 2011 onwards car, or who need to go back to stock after modifying. They are genuine OEM parts

Anyway here are the part number details:

    Front springs - 48131-53460

    Rear springs - 48231-53390

    Bumpstops - 48341-30140

If you look up the details of cost for these parts, your eyes will water, selling the lot for $550.

    Cheers

  7. I havent had the best experience with KW V3s to be honest. I have had the set replaced 3 times!!!! the rear of the car bottoms out. KW are looking into it but its been like this for over a year.

I took it to Lexus of Chatswood and they told me that every customer they have had with Kws has asked them to rip them out.

Wanna buy mine ? they are brand new haha. (I would nt do it to you im just kidding)

Haha, ill stay away from the KW V3's, but let me know if you need a home for the stock shocks and springs.

    Thanks

  8. As the title describes, after those parts (isn't everyone!)

Would take either a diff centre or the whole "pumpkin" to slot in.

Would consider a headers back exhaust system also, but has to have ZERO drone and not be too loud, I'm in the car all day for work with clients.

    Thanks

  9. Yeah i agree it would be a great solution, but im not going to track the car, and i want to keep everything under $2k if possible. So the KW will be a bit of overkill and also a bit too expensive.

I dont suppose you have your 2011 springs you want to move on?

The solution is very simple: KW V3

  10. Im after some stock 2011-2014 springs for my 2009 ISF, i have some aftermarket Bilstein shocks coming in and they would match very well with some later model springs which are a bit softer. It would be good timing obviously to get it all done at once.

    Thanks!

  11. Well after careful research and talking to a LOT of suspension gurus, I've decided to stick with the stock springs and install some Bilstein B6 shocks. They are a top of the line number from Germany which cost around $1500-$1800 here, but I have found them online for $1000 landed to my door.

I will get Lexus Chatswood to do the install, can't go past their great service and most importantly the loan car, even though it may cost another $100 in labor. I am also 5 min down the road.

Will update once they arrive and are installed, most likely around a months time. From what I have researched it will eliminate all the choppiness and harshness in the ride, while maintaining stock ride height and therefore stock clearance. Should be exactly what I'm after. I can always throw a sway bar on if necessary.

  12. There's definitely no gap there in the torque and power down low, great result!

    Have a look here though:

    http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f/492945-is-f-intake-shootout-indep-dynos-for-injen-and-afe-takeda.html

Some really interesting results in there.. I wont spoil it but you should have a read..

In my experience of tuning cars (HSV, Holden, BMW) the bolt ons line you up for the tune. A tune on a stock car has some good results, but a tune on a car with a non-restrictive exhaust and intake etc get GREAT results! But you are right, the best thing about this car is its reliability, and would not want to mess with that at all!

  13. Hrmmm.. From what i have read (not experienced) losing the 2 stage intake, which is essentially what happens with unsealed intakes such as the K&N and Injen, results in lower torque and power figures in the lower rev ranges, but an increase up top end.

After owning and driving one of these cars, i personally would rather more power down low, there is plenty up top haha!

Everyone has different goals and wants with their car, i am about drivability rather than the 5% of the time when your right up it at 6,000 rpm. Ok, 10% haha!

But youre right, there would HAVE to be an increase up top with a pod style filter, it would flow so much more.. If only we could tune these engines properly you would really see the gains.

  14. Hi everyone,

I am the very happy owner of a Graphite 09 ISF, and am loving the car to bits! Only issue is the brutal suspension. I work in real estate and am in my car most of the day, and need to soften the ride. Dont get me wrong, i love sports cars, and am used to hard suspension, but "bouncing" all the down the road over speed humps and irregularities isn't on.. give me firm, sure, but it also has to be compliant.

I always knew there was going to be an issue with the suspension, test drove '12 and MY10 cars, and they were much more compliant. Unfortunately the budget didn't allow for it. In the end I got the mint 09 with 65,000 km for around $48k, so it was an offer that I couldn't go past. I have a budget of around $1500 for some suspension work, and am looking for someone to do the work for me.

As far as i can see there is two options for me to go down which are:

    • OEM '12-'14 (or maybe even '10 onwards) ISF suspension

Lexus of Chatswood have recommended this as a good option, though its expensive new. I would be looking for a low km second hand setup from a car which has upgraded. If anyone has some, holla at me.

    • BC Coilovers

These are most likely going to push the budget installed, but from what ive read, getting the right springs and spring rates on this system make it pretty top notch and a huge difference to what im dealing with currently.

Is there any other suggestions? Any other path to travel?

And most importantly, who do you suggest to do the work on the car? Is there any specialists to balance and fit everything properly? Im from Perth and am clueless over here.. Lexus of Chatswood are obviously great, and have been extremely helpful, but i have a feeling they will be extremely expensive comparatively.

    Many thanks,

    James

  15. Is there anyone who can recommend a shop which has done a great job on a custom exhaust?

I am thinking of retaining the OEM rear cans, but removing all the restrictive pipes etc before that and making it a true dual system.. Should be a cheap alternative with good results!

  16. Great info there.. From what i can gather though the stock intake does a pretty stellar job power wise, and its important to maintain the dual intake system for low down torque. A drop in filter and intake pipe (HKS etc) seems to be the best option.
