  1. Oh Peter im so jealous.. Those seats, that engine, that car, enjoy my friend..

So jelly that it hurts a bit!!

I have test driven them a few times, and even got to belt one around on the skid pan. Whilst not as "brutal" or "raw" as the ISF, its a huge step up in refinement and driving comfort. I am 6'3, with two kids, and work in property (in the car all day), and would just about give a testicle to switch from the ISF to the GSF.

I will probably switch but in another 18 months or so when i can afford it haha!

Now go slap a set of headers and an exhaust and enjoy :yahoo:

  2. I have a modified OEM mid pipe for sale, with the rear axle section also available.

The mid pipe has the following modifications:

    • Cats removed
    • Resonator removed
    • Inlet from primaries widened to 3 inches

As per the pictures, the modifications actually made a gain in power (exhaust mod line), and sound pretty damn nice too. The stock rear mufflers mean there is no drone, everything is just more "enhanced" for sound and power.

I put a few photos up also of the mods you should do to the primary cats to increase to 3 inches to match up to the mid pipe, makes a huge difference.

Asking $300 for mid pipe only and $400 for mid pipe with the rear section. The modifications would cost more to complete, so this is good value. I can text a vid of the sound if needed.

PM or call for any info

  3. I was using Caro Tech pads, not 100% sure on which pads they are..

Yes they are a bloody nightmare on the street haha, sounds like they are rubbing steel onto the discs, and squealing like a stuck pig. People were constantly looking around as to wtf was going on ha!

  4. It has been quiet.. Thanks for reminding me to post this up!

So i installed some NS400 Project Mu pads all corners of the ISF, and so far there is minimal brake dust NO SQUEAL thank Christ..  and am pretty impressed actually. I haven't noticed much if any brake feel difference, but then again i was driving around with racing pads for a few weeks prior which were a bloody nightmare off the track, so anything would be an improvement.

But on a serious note, for a road use / spirited driving use, they are a fantastic pad which was around $375 for all corners delivered, direct from the manufacturer website, in 1 day. Pretty impressive.

I got the non varex one but the fuel usage has gone up don't know why could be global warming, anyway i will wait for winter and see Dr Sonny.

My spider sense tells me your right foot might have got heavier now that your exhaust sounds better haha!

  6. So like a fool i bought these without looking properly for my ISF.. which obviously wont fit.

I will let them go for $170 cash.

They will fit the IS250, check the ad and the Project Myu site to check if they will fit your particular model of car.

  7. The oil will only be pulled out / separated under hard cornering / acceleration, most notably under high heat when the oil partially vaporises and enters the intake.

I give my car a pretty hard time, and there is a small amount in there, nothing huge. But every 1mm in through that intake is a bad thing.. Will be interesting to see how much is in there after a belting on the track!

Sounds like its working fine, just keep in mind when you took the hose off to connect the separator, that oil was there. If you take the host off and look again, there should be nothing there.

  8. I have been doing some research, and apparently this combo is the closest to factory sidewall rigidity, and tyre outside diameter (OD):

    Front - 245x35

    Back - 285x30

Apparently the changing of specs outside this changes the rolling length of the tyre up to 10%, which will affect speedo, distance travelled on the odometer etc. etc. Basically a lot of negative impact. Its all been explained and debated in depth here:

    http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f-2008-2014/596424-tire-size-on-stock-09-rims.html

The downside is that the above also reduces the amount of cushioning from road imperfections, but the upside is a 10-15% larger amount of tyre on the road. Ill be doing the above next tyre change. Without the LSD im squealing tyres all over the shop!

  9. Go for it, be good to see how it works out. Technically the gearbox oil is good for life, but in the above thread its pretty clear that replacing the oil and flushing can have great benefits, especially if you are holding onto the car for a while / driving it hard.

Plenty of good salesman out there, there is no special tool / easy way for flushing. You let it get cold. completely, overnight, then refill with the specified fluids, check, test, check then test again. There is no easy way.

The Lexus master technicians advice will do me fine. Each to their own though, let me know how you go.

  10. Yeah should be pretty straight forward, but when in doubt with such a crucial (and expensive) component of the car, i leave it to someone more capable. I think it was $80 labor.

I think its closer to 2/3 of the tin maybe, after three flushes should use 2 tins.

I was late to the forums otherwise I would of been in for sure vs paying the astronomical postal charges I did 😢

Ps let me know when you do a group buy for a supercharger kit haha

    Haha!!!!

I really want to see a much more "stealth" supercharger kit, that one from RR Racing while brilliantly engineered is a bloody cop magnet..

Something more like this from someone like Harrop would open my wallet:

No one would even know if they weren't looking for it.
