  1. That's correct, pushing the buttons on the remote didn't work at parramatta. At gladesville i was in a car park and parramatta i was on a roof top car park, at gladesville i had to press the remote a lot of times waving it near the sensor on the dashboard to unlock it, my luck it started to rain and got really wet, not happy jan....The railway line was close by in parramtta in a sense but not next to it. Your sports watch issue is an eye opener. I must see what happens with my watch. I am finding lexus service lacking since buying this car compared to 5 years ago with my is200. Also noticed that the paint is so soft compared my is200, it's chipping very easily. palms
  2. I am still waiting for my replacement car in november, lexus was more worried about my paint issue than the tyers rubbing, i guess it will all be fixed then. I was looking at some of the new is250's in the USA that are the 06/07 models with the new fin type airial, i wonder if i will get that style. palms
  3. Hello all, it's been awhile since my last post. I came across an issue one day trying to lock my car in gladesville, i thought that my battery in the remote had gone flat and i was stranded there thinking this is not right. Some how it opened and off i went. Then one day in parramatta the same thing happened again whilst in a car park, i had to ring Lexus to ask if they knew of any issues related to mine only to find out there is an issue with some radio towers interfering with the remotes frequency, it won't allow you to lock or open your car so i had to manually unlock the car. I was told they are looking into this so i thought i would give you all a heads up if it happened to you. I had to pull the cover off my drivers door handle to get to the key hole in which doing this for the first time was nerve racking. palms
  4. Carro Loco I have not resolved this issue just yet, i have a paint issue with my car and will be getting a new car in November so until then i guess the wheels rubbing issue has to stay until then. Yes it does rub when turning going forward or reverse in out off a drive way or when going down a steep road or driveway whilst turning at almost full lock. It sounds like it's just touching the plastic inside the wheel arch, i would have to take the wheel off to see where it is rubbing to tell you and yes i have 18's all round and i know the sports luxury has 18's as well so it must be rubbing on those as well. It would be good to hear from people that recieved the car with the stock 18's on their car ie sports luxury. Maybe after market wheels are the issue, i know when i first spoke to the service centre at chatswood they said some people have had the same thing and they fixed it, what they did i don't know. Sorry that's all i have. palms
  5. I like these tips, thanks for taking the time to post. I have a ? I still don't understand why when i open the drivers side door to get in no other door opens, my passengers have to wait until i get in the car to open it manual from the inside, anyone got a tip? palms
  6. Thanks kinjiru for the reply, this site is really dead with postings but a lot of lookers. That's why did a decent post. Also thanks for the rap i did on the detail, it was hard work as you can see with the steps involved but the beers helped me get through it :) I thought twice about the reflection shots but thought who cars who see's my ugly head :) I must admit i am worried that some idot will scratch it on purpose or some child opening the door onto my car in a shopping centre by accident, but i will deal with that when it happens, yes for now my car must look good as it should, over time i am sure this will fade, only time will tell. I was planing on waxing it every few months but i will be waiting now due to my issues with the paint problems i have on my roof as i have stated in my other post. But in general when i am back on track i will only have to wax every few months now, a top up of spray mist when needed brings it up like a fresh detail all because of the prep work i had done in the first place makes it all worth it. palms
  7. I took a beter pic for you, this is after i did a complete detail from start. I didn't get the tyres completed but they are cleaner than they were. I am doing a new post how and what i used to get this looking as it is. Please note that i am finding that the tyers are hitting somewhere in the wheel wall when turning at a tight angle. I have read on the USA forums that this only happened to the AWD version over there but it looks like it's happening when 18's are put on instead of the original 16's. I am getting a second delivery this weekend/checkup for those asking what i mean and will ask what can be done. It's not like they are not for the car as the sports and sports luxury have 18's as standard. palms Hey palms, how did you go with asking Lexus about the rubbing when you got your 2nd Delivery? Cheers I have mentioned it to them and they said they will look into it after i get a major issue fixed. It turns out that i have paint issues on my roof bonnet and boot. I am in the middle getting it looked at so it looks like a new car coming my way if lexus do the right thing. For those who want to know all cars are protected with plastic from port to port, the plastic on my car has from the sun, rain or what ever cause some sort of humidity to seep into the paints clear which won't buff out, it is really noticable in the sun but no so much in the shade or under cover which is why i think they have missed it, i am waiting for lexus to get back to me. Back to the tyers...I won't get an answer until i get this issue sorted out but they have told me some people have reported having the same problem, what they did to fix the problem i have no idea so i guess i will have to wait and see the outcome. palms
  8. Hi people, I am not a forum writer but will show you what I achieved using some of MEGUIAR'S products and the steps I used to get the result. I detailed half the car during the day and the other half in my garage at night after the state of origin after a few beers so it wasn't perfect but got it close. I used in order. GOLD CLASS WASH SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER- This stuff really works as stated by many users, it’s a must have for any car. To be honest it cleaned the car, yes it was dirty, like I have never seen before. DEEP CRYSTAL PAINT CLEANER- I could see the change of color straight away by getting rid of all waxes and sprays the dealer had used. SHOWCAR GLAZE POLISH (7) This really enhanced the shine, it covered or filled the fine scratches from it being washed at the dealers. NXT GENERATION TECH WAX- This is their new product, I was going to use YELLOW WAX (26) - PASTE but opted for the newer product which worked very well. All products were applied with sponge applicators and removed with microfibre towels, each product was easy to removed when you follow the directions. I found to my amazment the black had become so beautiful to look at. A real head turner. Ok here are the results palms

  10. Well I got my IS250 at last. I have posted these in an other reply also. These were taken at night under poor lighting conditions with my Nokia N70 Phone. I hope you think this car looks the goods like i do, i have had a few people say it has added musle to the car with the dish rims. I must admit i do drool looking at my car as i walk away from it looking back :) palms
  11. whoops .... I should have added, Im in Melbourne, Oz Have a look at your Lexus service centre, my one in chatswood has several sizes on display for the car. I have picked some 18"spider rims from CTW for my prestige is250. These were the best they had on display so i went for them, much better than those ugly 16"s on the prestige http://www.citictrading.com.au/cfm/wt_prod...amp;prod_id=165 palms Me again...... I have changed my mind on my new 18's. I have now ordered these Karla Advanti racing wheels. http://www.mrmag.com.au/catalog/images/karla.jpg My local dealer had them on a silver is250 right next to the black that i am getting and thought these have style, any comment welcome. palms Finally got the car, have taken a few quick shots with the phone camera so the quality is poor but you get to see what i think looks awesome. palms

  13. Just getting excited about my new car arriving sooner Hey for those already with the car how is it???? I bet it's a joy to drive. I have read on other forums around the globe that owners now even enjoy the simple things of just driving up to the shops in their new IS250 when asked, mind you taking the long way if there is one and if not creating a new way just to get milk :), before this it was a hassle. I'm a rep that drives all day on Sydney’s roads in traffic jams, car parks in the morning and night, added with defensive driving as i try to do my job. I'm starting to think i should be given a tax break for my saftey on the roads these days. I can't wait to drift away from all the misery of that. Just got conformation from my dealer that the next shipment for the IS250 is due the 9th June. This is good news for me, soon I will be driving away in my new prestige with options pack and moon roof mid month now as apposed to late June, can't wait to see it in black with my new 18 inch wheels. palms

  15. Ok, i usually get between 450 to 500 kms around sydney being a rep on the road, went to QLD and got about 750 to the tank in my is200. palms
  16. Well it turns out there are better deals out there. A friend got exactly what i am about to purchase but with 18 inch amg wheels thrown in below what i was about to pay. Off to another dealer to see what i can get it for. I am so glad i didn't put that deposit they were hounding me for. I guess it does pay to shop around. palms
  17. well to add to this i inspected the bmw and was not impressed at all. The interior was poor, felt old and rough to be honest the same as the 320 i looked at 5 years ago when i was tossing up between the bmw and the lexus. Also had a look at the merc, mmm better than the bmw but felt i was sitting in a could be's car when i already had the funds for all above. So far the is250 in style and looks is way ahead but i really hate the space in the rear seat, this could make cancel my purchase of the 250, im in the air at the moment. The audi looks nice but that's all i know about the car.... What can i do?????????? palms
  18. Yeh don't be confused with the asian name, she is one quality lady with class. Something you have to see for yourself. Palms
  19. Just ordered the IS250 Prestige 4 Door Sedan 6 Speed Automatic in BLACK with IS250 OPTION PACK. DVD Satellite Navigation with DVD player, bluetooth capability, reversing monitor camera, premium Mark Levinson 14 speaker audio unit - Sports model $6,600 for a total of $70502 with window tinting and leather protection thrown in as a bonus. Yeh i paid full price for the car and got some extras too so i am pretty happy with that. The service i have been given in the past with my is200 has been out standing. Anyone wanting good service in Sydney try chatswood LEXUS and ask for Pei Wang, she was so professional and a delite to deal with. You will be blown away with her customer service and knowledge.
