Is250 Arma Supercharger

Anyone know if an Is250 in australia has been supercharged yet?

I'm interested in getting the Arma supercharger

My 250 cost under 30k so a supercharger is cheaper than is350

My friend says blowoff valves, particularly 120db of the arma are illegal in QLD

Anyway around this legally or mechnically?

I don't think anyone on the forum has a supercharged 250.

On the actual topic, I'm not aware of anyone doing any supercharging on this side of the world. But I do wish you do it lol. It will be totally cool, and you would be the first in australia!

I like the idea of doing an engine swap, cause they actually don't seem that hard to do for this car (relative of course!).

The only problem is that you need to find a good condition engine. Which is bloody hard these days!

From memory in Australia, you aren't allowed to transplant an engine older than what your car was complied with, so 2JZ is pretty much out of the question.

forget engine swap too hard / risky finding a proper engine etc.

only problem now really is this blow off valve.

interesting thing about RGM one is they talk about an additional Gas Flowed headers option which takes performance to 272kw which is like 364hp...

i'm gonna email them and find out what the deal is

i was looking up on this option few years back

never got around it

with the arma charger the price is around 11K total

which inc's a mechanic coming out and installing the charger kit

takes around week to install and he performs a dyno tune as well

Your going to spend $40k 'ish once you've supercharged yours. Probably more.

For $10k or less it's worth looking at an IS350.

Just for the lack of insurance hassles and be much better for resale. One way has warranty one way doesn't.

All valid, cause you know it will be bullet proof if you get a 350.

But supercharging will give good power, more than the 350. The 350 isn't fast, so you if you can get more power from a 250 then I think thats a good thing. Force induction is always more fun.

When doing your sums don't forget to add engineering costs and full exhaust to the upgrade cost. The car won't be legal hence uninsurable without an engineers certificate.

When you consider that the car won't be worth much more than what you paid for it after 10-15k worth of upgrades, is probably makes sense to get the IS350. I think high 40s would get you one and you'll get a car that's a few years newer, updated features, under warranty and most likely more reliable. And it would have better resale than any supercharged IS250.

If false economy doesn't bother you, go the supercharger. If you can knock it off for under 15k and can sort out the fueling/ecu issues properly I know I'll be first in line to get my IS350 done. Good luck I hope you do it and can report back on your experiences.
