Dinka
Hey guys, I'm looking to invest $ on some new rims for my '08 IS250. I'm currently running OEM 16". I'm hoping to find some 17", or preferably some 18". Thing is, I know nothing about what I should be keeping an eye out for. Any tips and advice would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks. iinkz
Post some pictures of a few IS250's that you like, and we'll be able help advise you. Some questions you'll need to ask yourself: Budget? Are you willing to do fender mods? What kind of look are you after? Are you going to lower your car? If so how much? Onto the wheel sizes. Basically, it depends on the style of wheel you're after, but this a rough idea in general: 19's look the best 18's look good if your car is quite lowered 17's I wouldn't bother, look too small. Dinka
Hey iinkz. Thanks for the response. And my apologies for the late one! To answer your questions: Budget: Hoping to spend less than AU$1000, 1250 tops. (Which is why i'll probably end up getting second hands) Are you willing to do fender mods: defs not. What kind of look are you after: a nice decent flush look. Are you going to lower your car? Getting coil overs is in the books; just not sure how much i'll drop it though... Heres a couple of pictures of wheels that i like..they pretty much meet the exact look that i'm after..
iinkz
Top picture are 19's whilst the bottom are 18's. If you not want any fender modifications then you just have to go with a conservative setup. Obviously, your choices are limited when you purchase second hand wheels. It will all depend on what width, and offset the wheels are going to come in, also factoring the tyre size. Check out this fitment calculator here as this will give you a good indication.
ich1ban
The style you want looks identical to the BBS Forged wheels on the ISF

I was coming thru Bells Line Rd on Sat night probably quicker than I should have been, anyway hit a pot hole that was big enough to swallow a basket ball I thought the rim would be cracked and waited for the sound of a flat tyre didn't happen but I am dead sure it would have with cheap rims. allsmiles
Agreed with the above. Have had cheaper imitation rims crack on me. Never again.
Dinka
Thought I'd loop everyone in with my progress... After months of hunting; I finally found a set of rims! (Hallelujah!). I settled for a staggered set of Work CR Kai, 18x8.5 +37 (Front) and 18x9.5 +38 (Rear). Super happy with the results. Attached a couple of pictures. Next project is to find a set of coils to lower the car. So, starting to do some research on coils now!
