JUZBLAZE Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I was just wondering if having the aircon on affect acceleration performance at all? I usually only have my aircon on the lowest setting. I've also noticed that when the aircon is turned off my idle rpm drops a little and the car starts to shake a bit, is that normal? Thanks in advance boys and girls.
obo2192 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Hey Hey! Yea it does reduce performance. I gotta push more on the accelerator to move my baby. Check out this article below, gives more insight. http://www.nrcan.gc.ca/energy/efficiency/transportation/cars-light-trucks/buying/16740
2bling Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Yes it takes a little power and no your car should not shake when you turn it off
bazzle Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I find on my IS350 If aircon set to Auto idle is increased by approx 200rpm even when compressor is off. If I turn off aircon button revs drop and mine also gets a bit rougher at idle. It shouldn't affect much unless pump is engaged economy wise.
