sho
insurance will only cover you for 1" greater than largest factory wheel diameter car, those being the 18" wheels that come standard with the sports model. never heard of there being warranty/insurance issues with width of rime, but if this is the case then the sparts has 18x8.0 fronts and 18x 8.5 rears which would mean that 9.0" fronts and 9.5" rears would be fine. ldc
When they say 1" greater, they meant 1" wider in the width, some insurers also restrict to 1" larger in diameter. You can get any size (19, 20 etc) so long as the width is no more than 1" wider than the stocks to be approved by the RTA. NRMA insurance will approve anything RTA approve. Carro Loco
Guys, Glad to see some of youhave picked up some cool rims....hey weren't around when I bought mine in October 06 (I looked far and wide).. I have Stamford Nirvana 225/40 18" rims on my is250 (black on black) but unfortunately they still look like granny wheels..I have been told it relates to the offset....can anyone tell me what offset I should be looking for to make the rims follow the contour of the car..ie 'stick out' ?..my rims fit inside the wheel well quite a way and they don't look like 18"'s at all.....so question is, does a higher positive offset mean the rim and tyre will stick out ?... I have been on the us ebay site and seen wheels with a 50 offset..is this better than a 45 or 40 (which I am told is ideal for the lexus?) ldc
I can't remember but i think the higher the number the less it'll stick out.
sho
the higher the positive offset the more the rims will stick out. I have +38 offset on the fronts and +45 offsets on the rears.
