I think i'll be looking at shell helix for the new engine, since quite a few of the guys here are running it

Toyota New Zealand will always use Shell oils... they have some deal...

now I feel like I fit in ;)

1. Castrol RS1 formula (from dealer in Hamilton Toyoya)

2. Always around $55 NZD (@$1.09 per Litre)

3. So far, around town and high way, normally 500 to 550.

All in High way, from Ham to Bay of island, it reached 650 :)

all in town when I go to uni, around 450 to 480

1. What oil do people use? (I have some brand I never heard of)

2. How much does it cost to fill your car altezza or Lexus (please state which car)

3. How many km to a tank of gas (city driving mainly or highway driving)

Q1: Shell Helix (I have been using this oil for years, even before i got IS200)

I buy them from K-mart when they have 15%off. then take the oil to dealer for oil change.

Q2: I fill up my car when the fuel price is cheap. so no fix price.

I use either BP Ultimate 98 OR shell Optimax 98.

Q3: IS200 fuel tank = 70 L, my record 65L, (so 5 L left in tank)

lots of highway ~730KM/65L

average fuel consumption = 11KM/L (about 250km highway 150km city)

Boy, the most I've ever thrown into my tank is 55L - the 'ol petrol light on and everything. I think I've seen somewhere before there is a difference in tank capacity between the Altezza's, the IS200's and IS300's. Can someone remind me what they are?

Also, on a RS200Z, does anyone know how many litres are left in the tank when the petrol light does come on?

Lexus IS200/300 Tank 70 litres

Went for a drive on Saturday afternoon, to run the new engine in. Did 780km.

Christchurch to Blenheim via Lewis Pass

482 km = 46.32L (30.19 mpg) 3/4 tank.

Then Blenheim to Christchurch 300 km = 1/2 tank.

Which i was impressed at!!

I forgot to mention that I use Shell Helix "ULTRA" fully synthetic oil from K-mart.

I used to collect Ferrari sticker on the bottle :P

I always reset my trip meter when I fill up the tank, so I have an idea how far a tank of petrol can go even when the "empty tank indicator" is on.

That's why I was able to managing to have only 5L left in tank last time. but that's was scary. I wont do that again. :(

Out of interest, I've recently done a huge trip from Wellington -> Auckland -> Wellington -> Westport (South Island) -> Wellington. All up, 1900+ KM's in 2-3 days.

I got 660km's out of the Wellington -> Auckland leg before pulling into a gas station in Auckland. Hell, the yellow light had been on since 591kms, so I was getting a bit worried at the 660km mark

With the lesser 60L tank on the Altezza, yup I was happy :D

PS got myself a crap radar detector for the trip but it still paid itself off several times over, esp detecting those cop cars (including the under cover ones) in time for me to safely scrub off speed to under 110kph. Especially recommended for the nite time when you can't tell what's coming towards ya.

Some of you sguys get crap fuel economy!!!

I ALWYAS get over 500 per tank, thrashing or not! Best I got city is 615!!! I fill up, usually cost $55 of Optimax. Havent tried long distance, But i think I can hit 800 :P

Top speed I have hit is an indicated 215km, still alittle more in it, but very slowley climbing!
