Where Do You Get Your Cars Serviced?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Decided to start this topic after reading cevu's post regarding having his car serviced by Chatswood Lexus. I assume cevu is happy with the whole service experience that they provide, and he mentioned that they gave him a near new RX350 as a loaner!

I haven't had my first service yet and am deciding on where to take my business.

Initially it was obviously a given that the dealership that i bought the car from would get the business, but due to change, (ie. my rep leaving) , and poor levels of professionalism exhibited from the step in rep, my loyalty towards them has changed. (I will leave that for another topic and another day) !!!

So the question goes out to all, where do you get your cars serviced and what helps make the experience worthwhile??

I don't have an IS250, but I always service my cars at Lexus of Blackburn. Always professional, always to a good job, cars are always cleaned upon return and always had new courtesy cars (IS250 Prestige / Sport Luxuries, or RX350 Sport Luxuries depending on the visit).

My last service (30k), Melb City Lexus (MCL) needed the car for 3 days in the end (sunroof buzz, which needed the roof lining off). Without question they gave me a brand new is250 for the full time (had just 800kms on the clock). And given I dont have the EMV pack, it was nice to play with the one in this loan vehicle. Very handy, as I was thinking of a change-over next year, and was curious about how good the ML sound system, satnav, bluetooth etc. was.

Ive found MCL to be faultless, and would be the first to recommend them.

Like Losiho, I go to Lexus of Blackburn, where we bought both our cars. Very professional service, willing to pickup (6:30am) and drop off (6pm) at my house and always loan us the next model we're looking at (that's how my wife decided she liked the RX350).

Unlike Sapphire Cam, though, my wife and couldn't be less satisfied with MCL, where she bouht her IS200 a few years back. They screwed the warranty paperwork on the sale, charged way more (almost $300) for a standard service than LoB did, didn't clean the car properly (any time) and, after five visits, still couldn't fix a knocking sound in the front suspension that LoB fixed in a single afternoon.

Additionally, my boss at the last place I worked recently bought his IS250 from MCL, and has had no end of problems with them. After four visits, they still hadn't fixed his dodgy petrol gauge and he had to keep escalating his problems until he got the Australian Customer Service manager to step in and deal with it.

Sorry Sapphire Cam. I'm glad you've had good experiences at MCL, but I've seen other people have nothing but problems with them. Just wanted to share an opposite view... ;)

I purchased my vehicle from Lexus Of Chatswood and their customer service was exceptional hence my decision to continue business with them.

They have picked up from my partners work (7am) and they return to my home. Time varies but they let you know via a phone call. On both occasions the service was hassle free and at all times i was aware of their progress. No waiting around wondering whats happening! On both occasions i was provided with a near new car. Luxury RX350 & IS250. My car came back with a complimentary wash and was all clean and new looking :) Although these first two services were cost free it would have well been worth the service cost.

As mentioned in another post my car IS is in for repairs due. They arranged a collection the next day, (7AM) and dropped off a pretty much brand new luxury RX350. I have just recieved a call from their service manager advising that the car will need to stay overnight so they may test it to make sure all is ok before returning, although when i called in they had already advised that this may be the case, so i was well aware that i will be IS'less for 2 days. Got a loan car so not fussed! Cost covered by warranty.

I have no problem recommending them for their sales service, and more importantly after sales customer care.

actually, on a side note i was looking at an evo x but after there shocking customer service i am seriously considering the IS-F. Only thing that is detering is the price!

I purchased both my IS200 and now IS250 from Lexus at Parramatta and always taken them back for servicing.

I find that they always look after me and are also quite patient with my complaints about noises and the like.

They also always give me great loan cars. Like I said in another post last time I had a GS450h for the weekend whilst my car was with them

I have mine done at Sydney City Lexus in waterloo, never had any problems with them over the past 5 years. Had my IS200 and 250 both done there. They always pickup from my home or office and return to me when I am out onsite at a client :)

They are always pretty helpful and the service manager there always goes the extra mile for additional stuff that I want done (they even got my damaged rim repaired for me once) and I have always got nice loan cars like the RX350 and IS250. Never had a GS yet though :)

I bought and service my car from/with Lexus of Chatswood. They will come and pick up your car from your home or place of work (leaving you with a loaner). If you are like me and not want to let just anyone drive your car, I drive to the service centre and get a loaner for the day.

To date, I've had:

1) RX350

2) ES300 (yuck!)

3) GS300

4) IS250 2008 model.

They also wash your car which is a nice value add.

Great experiences so far.

Picked up my IS a few weeks back.

haven't had a service yet - any feedback for Lexus of sutherland?

Lexus Chatswood is great :) fixed my rear bumper (under warranty), gave me a loan car (IS250), wash the car, free chocolate and pair of keyring :)

I booked in the car this coming Monday to fix the rattle noise (cam gear), they going to pick up my car in the morning..don't know yet what is the loan car...perhaps IS-F :)

My IS250 is going in for its first service (15,000kms) next week. When I took delivery of the car I noticed some minor scratches on the driver side door (on the edge, not the face of the door) -- I reported it to Lexus of Perth and they had it fixed immediately, no questions asked. Would love to get some F-sport parts fitted if/when they arrive!

Just got my 45K service done today, and got the ES300 again.

Damn, that's just the worst Lexus ever! I'd take pretty much any other Lexus ahead of that car. I drives like a boat, and really, it's not much more than a camry (I'm not trying to start a flame war against the manufacturer of my own car and I know we are all Lexus lovers here but c'mon...just look at the thing!!!)

Having said that, a courtesy car is better than no courtesy car! And when I climb back into my baby again, it just makes me appreciate my car all that much more...<hugs>!!
