  1. Best way to tell if it's a Z-edition is to check the equipment list here for what you've got: http://www.japanvehicles.com/newcars/toyot.../equipRS200.htm Best indicators for an RS200 6 speed manual to be a Z-edition are: - traction control - rear tints - aluminium pedals and scuff plates The RS200 6spd Zs and Ls have all of these afaik, and none were available as options on the normal edition.
  2. Very useful information shannon! Would you say that the factory amp is lesser in quality and power rating than those in high end head units now? I've got an Alpine CDA-9813 waiting to go in which puts out 4x27WRMS - apparently very high quality. I take it you're saying the amp is housed down in the passenger kick panel? So I should be able to work out if mine is amped by opening 'er up down there?
  3. OMG, that is SO not worth it for what is essentially a cosmetic mod. :o For that you could almost do a full headers-back exhaust, right?
  4. Nice plans dude! Will definitely be keen to hear how you get on with them. :-) I too have an Alpina CDA-9813 waiting to go into my Altezza - and also waiting to get it back from the paint shop!
  5. Gutted to hear that your car was keyed like that - that sucks so bad. Astounding how much damage can be caused in so small a time. :-( I definitely wouldn't think that 100,000kms is too much to do mods on! I'd more look at the cost of the mods in relation to the value of the car - your car is still going to be worth at least, what, $18-20,000 when it has 100,000 kms? That's still a fair bit of money to mod on top of!
  6. What kind of cost on the side skirts, frylai? And are these painted? As discussed earlier, if you can get replicas of the factory wing spoiler I may be keen. Just to hijack your post - I will be selling my Super Bright Yellow taillight covers soon, if anyone's interested. :P
  7. That's a long story. :-o Basically, the bit that normally clips on, with the buttons in it, under the factory stereo isn't clipped on at all - it's as if part of the center console is missing! It's kinda just sitting there, loos - really crappy looking actually! However, am getting the aftermarket stereo dash kit from frylai, so that should tidy it up. It's still weird. Weirder still is that the car at one point had an alarm and remote starting system, but doesn't seem to now.... o_O Weird. Just weird.
  8. http://kind-of-blue.cside.com/car-gallery.html Heaps more nice pics above. Isn't this sticker interesting! And anyone know which eyelids these are?
  9. Okay, it is 3000rpm after all. I'm just crazy.
  10. Interestingly... my TRC and Snow switches have been remounted on the right-hand side, I think in the space that you guys are referring to. :-o I have NO idea why.....
  11. That looks stunning - amazing! Definitely keen on any DIY tips for doing the engine bits - especially the engine cover. Inspiration to do something similar myself! Did you pick a special type of spray paint to do it? (considering heat?)
  12. Cheers for that link - it's perfect! *bookmarks it* Might have a go at the crazy-Teg solution sometime I'm feeling adventurous :P
  13. See chasey's thread here: http://nz.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=728 He has the Sard full kit for sale (not just lips) - still available I think.
  14. Welcome Jeremy! :D Boy racers don't ever dare test the class and style of a Tezza. :P I love the black Altezzas too - there aren't that many around compared to silver and white, I reckon? Boothy's car is on show at Auto Salon - check the thread by Tezz on possible plans to meet up, perhaps? :D
  15. Well, it is a 6th gear. :-] It's great for cruising on the flat (ecnomically?), but if I need a bit of torque, down to 5th or 4th... :-)
  16. Tis quite possible I'm wrong. :P I shall pay more attention next time I'm out!
  17. Well, if you guys think they're worthwhile? I have an aftermarket unit and dash adapter en route - figured I'd avoid butchering my factory loom - do you guys know where the best place for these is? I believe they are available. I do note that they seem to be different for the MD/6CD than for the tape/6CD though? I know this because my car currently has a factory MD/6CD stacker in it, but I also have a tape/6CD unit (also with the jamming problem) which has completely different loom plugs on the back? Is it an SXE10 vs. GXE10 issue instead, maybe? Help/knowledge appreciated... or should I, once again, look on UK LOC? :D
  18. Besides, if people have put front-size calipers on the back... I wanna know about it :-] Keith - shouldn't yours be green? :P I'm ggoing for the two tone contrast. Yellow paint, red calipers (and horns possibly)!
  19. Possibly - it's the one in my avatar and garage pics anyway! Would have been on there until about 6 weeks ago I guess. :]
  20. Woo - that top one even has the C-West bodykit like mine :D I /need/ one of those! Where'd you get yours, Stephen?
  21. Hey flyboy - welcome. Pretty low, man - from memory around 2,000-2,200 rpm? One almost feels like 6th is made to cruise at 140kph. :-]
  22. They look like front calipers to me? Beautiful though. Welcome to the red-caliper clan! :D
  23. What area/city are you looking in? :] If NZ, tried Trade Me? That's where I found mine... :D
  24. Good feedback on the EBC pads (AUD$200 or so in Sydney) - esp in getting rid of the absurd amounts of brake dust from the standard pads! See: http://nz.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=750
  25. Still must weird people out at the lights when they see my reverse lights perk up eh? :D "Like, what's he trying to start in? 4th?" :D
