hey just wondering, wat Speed and wat RPM do u guys have ur orange and red lights on at?? when i had the IS250 from Chatswood for 2 days, i set it to 60km/h as orange (lots of areas are a 60 zone) and red at 80km/h (on L's, not meant to go faster, ahahaha, but i "accidently" went 140 on the M2, DW!! no cars, it was like 5 in the morning, picking up my cousin from the airport) and i cant rember if the RPM guages had a red light but i had the orange light at 4000RPM

ummm im on my L's, so my mum has to come with me, lols where are u guys meeting up? maybe i can get my cousin to drive me up there (he has a BMW tho... lol) or if i get there ill just hang out then just train it back home or something

ohh, kk yeh the RX330 is pretty crap for the way i drive (even tho im still on my L's) like most teen's i drive fast and stop hard and corner faster than i should (only sometimes, mostly i drive normally) i love the IS250 soooo much, even more after i got to drive it at the end of last year does lexus have any extended test drive thingys like BMW and Porsche have?

ahhhh that clears stuff up but when i drove a IS250 (RX330 went for service) i put the ECT (or something like that) in power mode and it holds the gears longer after u take ur foot off the accel i was on the highway, doign steady 60 (car in front was a L plater aswell, but was NOOB, lol) so i planted my foot, and the car took off, and i then had to slow down (took foot off accel) and the engine was holding it at 4500rpm even with my foot off, but had to speed up again (another car going slow) and when i smashed it again, the car took off REALLY fast my RX330 doesnt do that, lol

i also noticed this on my RX330 i was just sitting in the car parked, with the engine running it was really hot so i turned the AC on and the car got louder but yeh.. lol

cool, thanks guys and its not really MY car, its my mums, but she takes the train to work (we live in milsons point, 1 station away from city) so i'll be taking it to school (its like 30 mins on the train) my mum will probs use it just if she has to go out for something, but i'll be driving it 80% of the time, :D

hey guys i was just wondering how much everyone paid for their IS250's and also if it was new or used, if used how many km's?? sorry if im butting into personal info, but i wanna find a good price for a used IS250 around a 2007 - 08 model with less than 50,000km, preferably under 30,000 either a Prestige with EMV pack or a Sport or even a X model i saw this REALLY nice '07 IS250 X in black with 24,000km for $53,000 but i wont be getting my car for a while, :( :( :( my mum said she's not paying more than 50K, so i should be able to get a IS250 Prestige with EMV for under that i think maybe a '06 or '07 model, cuz i also need to save a bit for some mods, like taking the resinator off and new exhaust tips, and a set of nice rims and new tyres

im into RnB aswell, 40% of my songs are RnB, 30% are hip hop and the other 30% are korean songs but while crusing my fav sogn to listen to is Ray J - Sexy Can I, i just find the bass real good good to hear the ML system is good, better look for a used car with the ML upgrade, :D also, my dad has a IS250 in korea, and i plugged my itouch in it and the audio was mono tone, :( but then i plugged my NEW itouch 3G 32gb in my cousins IS250 in australia and the quality was very good, but we didnt pump it that hard, lol but was the problem my ipod or the cable? my cousin has a senheisser AUX cable and my dad had a crappy one we got with our moniter we had just bought and i dont really mind not having the ipod interface thingy, i'd rather plug it in with a AUX cable and just play a playlist i've made for cruising (hiphop one and a rnb one, :D)

does turning the AC affect performance? neva knew, well i am a noob tho, :D but could u explain how it effects it? does the AC system take power from the engine or something?

hey guys sorry if i creating too many topics... but i really wanted to know if anyone in the sydney area has done any audio mods?? is the standard audio good enough? is the mark levison setup good?? i really wanna know cuz my main use for the car is driving me to school and back, but i LOVE, i repeat LOOOOOOOVE my music so i'll be playin music most of the time, and probably really loud most of the time aswell is the bass in teh standard and levison setup good? the Mark Levison speakers in my RX330 are nice, but after hearing my friends car, that has a aftermarket audio system, i was starting to wonder if i should do audio mods to the IS250 when i get it i wont fill the boot with speakers, as my mum still has to use it for shopping and stuff of weekends but just replacing the acutaly speakers in the car and stuff i dont know that much bout audio, just that Senheisser has teh best, affordable earphones for my itouch, lol how many watts is the standard and mark levison systems?? thanks a bunch

yeh my friends are getting sh*t boxes anyway, like '84 Corollas and Civics, all like under 4000$ so i should be able to beat em easily but its not like im gonna race on the street, i dont wanna crash and injure myself or others, but i find, even on my L license, i was driving my uncles SL500 with carlsson bodykit, 20" deepdish rims and exhaust, and i had like 10 P platers in their commodores and crap tryna race me at the lights, LOL my uncle let me smash it on george street, at the massive intersection infront of the QVB, the commodore wasnt even in my mirrors by the time i got around Greater Union, LOL yeh, but as u said, its not made for that kind of stuff we all know we can get faster 0-100 cars for a fraction of the price, but the IS250 is in another league

i heard that the new ES350's were recalled thO but thats teh US, so it doesnt matter anymore lol as long as im safe

AHAHAHAHHA decided to run into a pole, lol anyway, good to know that its only the american cars that are affected i dont have to worry anymore, :D

hey guys ive been looking on youtube, and most IS250 0-100 times are around 8 seconds (pretty slow IMO, but its not meant for that kinda stuff so its alright) but i also remeber seeing one that was like 7.4seconds or something wats the fastest u've done 0-100 in?? when i get my car, i'll probably cruise around alot with my friends just listening to music, but for the occasional time when i want to floor it at the lights, i dont wanna be doing like 0-100 in 10 seconds or something... thanks and also, will using higher octane fuel increase performance?? i mean, not just once, but if i ALWAYS put in higher octane?

hey guys i heard quite some time ago about a throttle problem with some toyotas and lexus' did that problem ever happen to a IS250 model in australia?? or a RX330?? i herad the throttle gets stuck and it just goes top speed and starts redlining the car, and u either have to slam the brakes as hard as u can, and also try putting the car in neutral and turn the engine off, but is it even possible to turn the key when the car is in Drive? i accidently left my RX330 in D and tried turning the engine off and the key doesnt turn thanks for any info just that i dont wanna die when i wasnt even meant to speed, lol

ahahaha, yeh, lol :P when i get the car ill come and back tell u guys and i'll definatly go on a cruise one day with u guys dont exclude me cuz im young, XD!! lol

wow really guys, thanks for all the information one of the best and friendly forums ever, seriously, thanks again i'll be getting the car a little bit later, like around May (i get P's in June, getting it a little before so i can get used to it for the P test) BUT ill do more research into removing the resonator, cuz i think that sounds REALLY REALLY good its the sound im looking for, i dont want TOO loud all the time cuz my mum will drive it (rarely, like once a week) so having it sound normal when driving around and loud when smashing it, well that a win win. and i think i'll also look into getting exhaust tips, the 4inch ones and it'll only cost me a bit, so no need for a intake or anything else, that means for money saved, :D but like i said, its my first ever car, and i dont know how to mod a car or anything, total noob and sorry for the late reply, just started Year 11, getting into all the classes and all that, just a hassle LOVING engineering, best subject evar.

wow thanks guys i think i'll just buy a Joe-Z intake, not as expensive as i thought im gonna be getting some 19" Enkei FS-01's i think they look REAL nice, and not a cheapo look but this IS a few months away, and i dont know how to install anything to a car anyone know any good places around Milsons Point, Sydney?? oh MAAAAAN should i just wait for it? becuz our RX330 is getting to lik 6-7 years old now god DAMN!!!!!! lexus!!!! why not release it earlier!!!! hmmm i think i'll just get a used IS250 and then maybe swap to a 350 when the new 2nd gen comes out, that sshould drop the price of the 1st gen 350, so yeh..

hey guys i havent got a IS250 YET, very soon within a couple of months i'll be trading in a '04 Lexus RX330 Sport Luxury but anyhow i want to make my IS250 "sporty" i know its not incredably fast, ive heard its like between 7.6 - 8.2 sec's for 0-100. but im a student so dont have the most money to spend, and my dad said his getting me the car, and i have to pay for insurnace and stuff (still LOVE that his getting me a feakin lexus for my first car) but i heard somewhere that if u drill a hole in the intake cover thing, u can get a throatier sound, without spending any money on a Joe-Z or F Sport intake (heard its expensive in australia) and i want to save that for a exhaust system but i also heard i can lose power if the hole is too big, how big should the hole be?? i dont wanna lose power cuz its not that fast to begin with, lol thanks
