  1. I've never had a problem with my Lexus after a service at my CURRENT Lexus dealer (I won't comment on some of the other Lexus Dealers in Melbourne). It's always been clean, never had an issue not addressed, always been treated well. However, don't for a second believe Lexus when they brag about a "complementary" loan vehicle being supplied to you, or a "complementary" wash after your vehicle is serviced - it's all paid for, right there on your service bill....otherwise, how can anyone justify a $600 bill for an oil change ? If the "sweeteners" aren't important to you, or you're unwilling to pay for it, go ahead and service your RX at any Toyota Dealer.
  2. Still available for sale - new price $900 for the set of 5.
  3. I took my RX in for it's valet wash this morning, and while I was there, my dealer offered me a test drive of the new RX350. Random thoughts - It's big - feels much "bigger" from the driver's seat (almost Prado size). The centre console around the gear lever is huge - no more "walk through" in the front seat like the 2nd Gen RX. Keyless push start just like the IS250 Space saver spare is standard - a full size spare is optional, and takes up some boot space (the spare is no longer mounted under the rear of the car, because the new model has a lockable centre diff that takes up more underbody room) Boot has more room than the 2nd gen RX. Comfy driver's seat (like the 2nd gen), lovely steering wheel, gear lever falls easily to hand. The biggest change - the Sat Nav and EMV screen / navigation (I drove the Sport Luxury model). It's no longer touch screen, it uses a mouse mounted next to the gear lever to select options and menus in the EMV screen. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but it actually works reasonably well. But just like some PC mice, I hope there's a way to turn down the sensitivity of the mouse pointer movement. Heads up display - nice feature, works well. Instruments - not exactly an exciting design, but very easy to read. Ride - definitely firmer than my RX350. As I said, it was a Sport Luxury on 19" Bridgestone Dueller tyres. It's not harsh, but the difference in ride would be, say, an IS250 Prestige or Sport Luxury compared to the Sport - you can definitely feel the much firmer ride in the IS Sport. Engine - sounds the same, accelerates away from rest similarly, but doesn't seem to have the top end "kick" of the old 2GR FE (the new car is 150Kg heavier). Steering - a little firmer, but not a huge difference Centre stack, audio and HVAC controls - works well, nice to look at, but imo the a/c vent design looks a little old fashioned. 6 Speed gearbox - like the IS250, if left in "D", it seems to swap from 2nd to 3rd too quickly for my liking. I'm sure there will be plenty of Lexus owners checking it out at their dealer soon.
  4. Now that I've had the car for 1 week, I'll run down some thoughts I have of the new (to me) features - - The 2GR FE is a honey of an engine. It has grunt everywhere through the rev range, and has a silky, sweet engine note. The 3MZ in the 330 has torque holes in parts of the rev range, and gets a little harsh and noisy as it reaches its (low) redline. - The gearbox works much better with the 2GR engine than the 3MZ - VSC / Traction Control Off Switch. Thank god, about time. - The black bird's eye maple wood trim is classy and the interior is much better looking than the Ivory with honey coloured wood in my old 330. - Alarm system improved - Sat Nav, Audio, Bluetooth - All much improved. - I've noticed even little things, like the design of the rear spoiler and integrated rear washer have improved. In my old 330, the washer jet would leak water if you went over a speed hump, or accelerated briskly away from the lights - annoying when it happens just after you washed the car. No such problems with the 350. - The interior is absolutely silent. Not a rattle or squeak anywhere, including from the centre console box and rear luggage blind. I'll have a big smile on my face for quite a while to come. :)
  5. I just traded in my 2004 RX330 Sport Luxury for a 2009 RX350 Sport Luxury in Silver Pearl with Grey interior. Loving the car so far - although I've had it for less than 24 hours. There are already a few noticeable improvements I can pick between the 330 and 350. Will update and post pics in a few days.............
  6. PM sent. Let me know if you're interested :)
  7. Sold (on the Trading Post). This time it's definitely sold. ;)
  8. The IS-F looks like an awesome car and a great addition to the range....but where's the IS350 ? It's a car I reckon Lexus Oz need, even if the price means it eats into GS300 sales.
  9. Your Cat is stuffed. Same thing happened to me on a new Mazda I had 15 years ago. Dealer replaced the cat under warranty and the smell disappeared completely. Take it back to your dealer and ask them to change the cat.
  10. Re-advertised due to friggin lying, cheating e bay buyers (if they don't have the friggin money, they shouldn't bid ).
  11. 17 or 18 inch ? When I had 17s (still trying to sell em ) the choices were OEM Michelins ($400 each), Bridgestone HP Sports (probably the ones Bob Jane recommended to you) or two Yokohamas (GO91s and G051s). I think there's also another (cheaper quality / price) Bridgestone tyre released in 225/65/17. A quick check of the net revealed the Michelin Latitude Tour HP is also available in 225/65/17 - no idea about price, probably too much knowing Michelin........
  12. It's a Quarterly Magazine. Not sure when the next issue comes out - I don't receive it anymore because the warranty has expired on my RX :(
  13. Genuine Lexus RX330 / 350 towbar for sale. Includes genuine towball and tongue, and all bolts and wiring. Removed from vehicle as I don't need it. In immaculate condition. Lexus dealers will charge $900+, I will sell for around $300 ONO. Pick up only from Melbourne Metro area.
  14. I don't have any experience with MCL, but don't even get me started on that other Melb Lexus Dealer down by the bay........... (Brent knows extactly what I'm talking about)
  15. I don't have an IS250, but I always service my cars at Lexus of Blackburn. Always professional, always to a good job, cars are always cleaned upon return and always had new courtesy cars (IS250 Prestige / Sport Luxuries, or RX350 Sport Luxuries depending on the visit).
  16. I have 5 x Lexus OEM 17 x 6.5" wheels and tyres for sale to suit an RX330 or RX350. Rims are unmarked - no scratches or nicks, not faded at all. Tyres are 4 x Yokohama Geolander G051s (95% tread remaining) and 1 x Michelin Energy LX4 (brand new, never been used). Selling due to purchase of 5 OEM 18" RX330 wheels. Pick up in Melbourne metro area only. $1,500 for the set ONO. Will sell separately if requested ($400 each)
  17. I had a IS250 loaner while the LS was in service yesterday. IS250 owners will be pleased to know that there wasn't a single rattle or squeak anywhere in the car - looks like things might be on the improve. On another note, this is the first time I've driven a Prestige (always had Sport Luxuries) and the 16" Bridgestone tyre setup had way too much road noise, something that is nowhere near as bad on 17" and 18" IS250s.
