  1. Don't know about the Altezza grille, but installing the Aristo grille is easy I also do not expect problems with the intake installation. I have cleaned the intake on several of my previous cars and it very straitforward. Just do not wear a white shirt :)
  2. Changing the Altezza ECU is supposing giving a lot of additional power, especially at high revs. I remember seeing a TRD ECU Dyno sheet (in the TRD catalog) which said that the engine power went up to 262hp.
  3. I would also consider an optimized ECU, like one from TRD, Tom's or C-One. It will give a significant improvement :)
  4. You should ask LsportlineIS300, Matt, since he lives in Auckland You have to hurry up and pm him. He is currently in the Altezza heaven, aka Hong Kong
  5. This grille is for the Aristo JZS161 (or GS300 MkII). Currently there is no similar grille for the JZS147, but I heard that there is a sport grille avail (TRD style)
  6. Not sure if DS-R also sells grilles for the Altezza. Will ask them :) I remember that Blitz is selling a similar grille with one bar. Also very nice!
  7. There are many turbo'd SC400 around, but most of them are in the US ;) LOC US - SC400 forum I recall that some Japanese companies are selling turbo or supercompressor kits for the LS400, but does not know if that kit would fit your SC400. I assume it will, but some modifications may be required. Please updates us on how it goes :)
  8. If your budget allows, go for the RS200. This model is placed at a higher position within the Altezza range, and mods are much easier to find
  9. one of my friends is the DS-Racing distributor for Hong Kong and China and sold me this grille. Do you like :) ? I took out the mesh
  10. And what if the NOS was cheaper in Hong Kong And then caught at the airport   Matt the Terrorist
  11. Most of the C-Class that they sell in Asia are mode in South Africa, that's probably also the reason why the Contis are made in South Africa.
  12. Probably Matt should organize a Groupbuy for the DIN :)
  13. Yes :), stuff in Hong Kong is a lot cheaper than NZ or Aus. But I do not think that the Apexi N1 coilovers can be get new for HKD8000. Also, the N1s will be very stiff, N1 is for racing and its ride will be harsh! So unless you are going to track your car, or if you only have highways (and as flat as a racing circuit) I would stick with the HKS LS+, C-One coilovers, or Tein Flex or CS. Alex
  14. What is better, coilovers or lowering springs/standard shocks? In terms of performance, coilovers will be definitely better, since the shocks and springs were developed together. Also, coilovers will give you the option to adjust the height of your car. Lowering springs will not allow this. However, if you mean better in terms of cost/performance. just springs will cost less, but you need to be sure that your existing shocks are in good condition. Also, will the existing shocks you cannot go very low, should not go lower than 30 - 35mm, if you want lower you need to get special sport shocks. To what I know, the Altezza can use the IS200 lowering springs and coilovers (and vice versa) since the car weights are similar. If you want to know more, please pm me. Alex
  15. Hey Mark, make a shopping list before coming when you come to HK during Xmas. Alex
  16. I heard from some in the JDM part business that there are basically two popular designs for the IS/Altezza: the N1 design: Loud, high power The standard design: less loud, hig mid-revs torque Most JDM exhaust/muffler vendors (HKS, Apexi, ...) sell both versions, but most are only wellknown for the N1 design. Remus, TRD, Tom's??? only sells the standard design. By the way, IMO the prices for the exhaust of these 3 are too expensive compared to the price/quality of HKS, Apexi, ... the choice is yours :) Alex
  17. I expect that the TRD are a bit quieter than most of them. Can anyone confirm this? Alex
  18. Reverbs, What do you mean with not too loud :) The Remus is quite boring, especially on JDM cars. You need to get a JDM part for JDM cars :) Like Trust, Apexi, Toms, TRD, HKS ... Alex
  19. Hi Mark, welcome to the NZ board. How did you know of this board? By the way, if you are coming to HK this Xmas, there may be more people from the board to meet. :) Alex
  20. The Falken Azenis/STT115 tires are relatively cheap, have good performance, but wear out very quickly, since they are using a very soft compound. I used to have Michelin on my previous car. Those tires are made to last! But performance? Not really. Alex
  21. In Hong Kong we do not have any problems with corrossion. Probably there is no need to apply salt on our roads. It's never freezing! :)
  22. You want eyelids? Which one? Do you have any pics? Alex
  23. Need to check. they probably are not cheap, but will ask some junk yards. Perhaps they have the part. Do you have a budget in mind? Alex
  24. I think that these cam be get cheaper. But why do you want to get a new one? Is your existing one damaged? Most people I know just unlock the speed limiter and do not do anything with the speed cluster. Alex
