  1. 4ROLLN, since you are thinking about an engine conversion, how about getting an Aristo Twin-Turbo instead of a V8. There are at least 3 used part sellers in HK who are selling the TT engine. Well, with that engine your car will eat the IS430 alive and will have any M3 as dessert. :P
  2. How good is the condition of your car? Since it is a '91, it probably makes sense to do some preventive maintance, like having an engine flush and if your car is shifting slowly, perhaps a ATF flush. Also, some fuel system cleaner, like Caltex Techron or 3M would be good. After doing all of this your car should perform like new! Then you can start modding, like lowering your car a little bit, adding a new air filter (or even an entire intak). Alex
  3. Hey Matt McNally, how come that there is no link to the NZ forum? Perhaps more people will come and visit this board if they would know :( UK LOC
  4. Hey samuelh7 You should do a real review on the HKS. Start a new post and tell us your findings. I heard very good things about the HKS filters, but have still not decided if I should go for the TRD filter (a little bit expensive), the C-One filter or the HKS, and your review would be valuable. Best thing would be if you can dyno your car Then I really will know the difference. Alex
  5. No mods? At least you should lower your car. The car will look much better after lowering Alex
  6. What do you mean with no leather? Also not suede leather? Most Altezza's and IS200/300 I have seen have leather or partial leather. A lot of people who like to race do not like leather, it's too slippery. However, leather gives a more high class feeling, ... Alex
  7. Hey Matt, can you post some photos?
  8. These lights are currently fitted on the existing GS and Aristo's. Older GS and Aristo (98+) can easy be retrofitted. Just buy the new-style ones and you done. I got a very good deal on them. PM me if you are interested. Alex
  9. Do you know the original Toyota part no? I am convinced that Matt can help you out. Matt = the parts man!
  10. I also like the Blitz wheels. They look really good on the Altezza/IS200/IS300
  11. I have the Racing Hart C5 on my GS300. I like its simplicity. By the way, the C5s are also very light. Mine are F: 235/40/18 and R:265/35/18 Too bad the login for gallery is not working, so I cannot post any pics.
  12. Currently I cannot log into the Gallery. I tried my usual login ID and password, changed caps, etc, but nothing worked. Anybody knows what to do? Alex
  13. Today I decided to get the new style Aristo Tail lights. They look much nicer than the original one :P After making several phone calls, I finally found the cheapest shop. They charged me HKD1,600 (USD205). The installation was easy, could have done it myself The lights look like: I will post some pics of the installation. I first need to upload them to the gallery before I can post them :( . Perhaps we need to change that. Alex
  14. I looked at the takakaira website, but did not see the C-One kit. In fact, I did not see any wellknown bodykit. I think that their strength is more in selling accesoiries and small parts, like turbo booster, timer, ... :o :o :o
  15. Samuel, if you want comfort then you should not go for the Hipermax II. These are semi-racing. You can check the spring rates. They have relatively stiff springs. So should consider HKS LS or LS+. These are also much cheaper. The LS+ also has like 30 ways adjustment. The LS+ is also new (like introduced 3 - 6 months ago). It was a reaction to the fact that the Hipemax II was not doing well in Asia. For people who wanted comfort it offered a relatively poor comfort/price ratio but people who wanted a racy feeling, people went for other brands. By the way, HKS is not famous for its coilovers, but more for its accessoires, like turbo booster, oil temp, ... http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/suspen...sp_image_02.jpg Concerning the LS and LS+ these are more comfortable and also less expensive. Or go for the Apexi World Sport. I have them on my GS300. I have 18s and the ride is excellent, very comfortable, but will good handling. They are relatively cheap, cheaper than the HKS LS. Or, go for the C-One. THe C-One is about the same price as the LS+, but C-One is considered as a much higher brand than HKS, they are like the big brother of TRD. You normally only see them in Japan, since C-One does not market its products actively outside Japan. Brands like Cusco and Zeal/Endless, GAB, Tanabe are too racy and do not offer good comfort. Tein is also a very popular choice in the US, but the prices I have seen in Hong Kong for Tein are too expensive compared to the other brands. If you are looking for Tein, then you can consider Tein CS and Tein Flex. Tein HA are too hard/stiff. Some shops here sell some used Tein HA, but the HK roads are considered to be too bad for the HA and most people do not like them. Alex
  16. What HKS coilovers are you looking at? HKS has many coilovers, like LS, LS+ and HiperMax II. These coilovers differ a lot in price. Also, what kind of ride are you looking for? Firm/hard or comfortable? By the way, there are many other good coilovers available for the Altezza. So you should do some more research
  17. Yes, actually 4300K gives the best light (usuable light), but 7000K gives a little bit less usuable light, but looks very nice. 7000K will also more easily blind other cars
  18. Greeneyes, I am happy with my tires, Yoko's ES100, good handling and stopping. However, they are NOT QUIET. Read my review.
  19. One of my friends just upgraded his Harrier from standard halogen to 5000/5500K HID lights. Now his lights are brighter than mine. I got stock 4300K HID. My dealer quoted HKD2500 (USD320) for two 7000/8000K HID lights. What should I do, go for this upgrade/mode? :o
  20. You mean leather seat cover that goes over the original seat? Never saw them. Most people in Hong Kong they have them installed by a leathershop, and it does not look like a cover. Most Altezzas here love the suede/leather seats, due to its superior grip. And for floor mats, there are many to choose from, post some pics.
  21. I am from Hong Kong. The good thing is that stuff is cheap here. I believe postage is not expensive to send these type of things to NZ. Probably, no more than USD1 - 2.
  22. German food???? Germany is not well-known for its food.
  23. Yes, these are park lights. These bulbs are not cheap. They costed me HKD180, or around USD 23. :( If you want them, tell me and I will get them for you.
