  1. No problem, these lights should fit in stead of the small side lamps.
  2. Right is OEM stock. Left is LED. After replacing both: I am a happy man again
  3. I bought these LED lights to replace the two inner lights. Since I have HID the OEM inner lights look too yellowish.
  4. Hi Matthew_McNally Can we put a link in the NZ forum that directly points to the gallery?
  5. I would not get the S3. Audi has just changed the A3 in Europe, so basically you would be driving in an old model. It also only has 210hp and your current car has 215hp. Also, since your existing car iswas more expensive than the used S3, I think it will be extremely difficult to get a good deal, the Audi dealer definitely wants to get something out of the deal, so trading a car for a cheaper car is normally not a good deal. You either need to sell your car privately or trade it for a more expensive car. However, an A4 1,8T Quattro would be nice. <_<
  6. Is there also a way to insert photos into the tread. (I mean not the ones from another website) ???
  7. You mean strut like in shocks? Can you post a pics, so we can see what you mean?
  8. Just wondering what the average age is of the club members. I expect that most of them are 26 - 30 years, but my next question would then be ......... Who paid for the car???? Alex
  9. I did not like the very yellow-ish lights of the small middle lights of my GS300 next to my stock HID. Somebody recommended me to change them into LED lights. It took me 10 minutes to change them. Now I am a happy man. All the lights are normally blue-ish again. Too bad I cannot post any pics One of my cheapest mod, but it gave me full satisfaction. By the way, it's officially illegal to have LED lights in HK. :P
  10. Is there a place where we can post some photos? :o
  11. Yeah, Stuff in HK are really cheap. I paid only HKD6500 for my Apexi coilovers including installation. Lucky me. :D
  12. Matthew_McNally I saw in your sign that your car is from 2001. Aren't your calipers covered under warranty? In Hong Kong, where I am, they may be not customer friendly, but I heard that in Europe they will do everything??? to make their existing customers happy.
  13. more pics I am considering getting this software as well.
  14. Hi Gavin, I heard that the Ozzie DBA Gold are not too bad. Probably they are also cheap where you are. I would try these. By the way, you could also add s.s. braided brake lines for better feel. Also, you could try http://www.auterraweb.com/software.html This Palm software can both do OBD and Dyno.
  15. I Probably buy an C-One or TRD airfilter. My dealer strongly recommends them and says that a small performance gain can be achieved. By the way , for about HKD600 - 650 (USD80) not much can be lost. Also, these filters are re-useable Or, I just get me a cheap HKS filter for HKD600 (USD80) Anyone good experiences with these? Thanks, Alex
  16. Hi Lexman, what's up with your brakes? Try the Bendix. Good, and yet cheap.
  17. I got the Apexi WS coilovers for my GS300 mk2. Car is still very comfortable. but its control is nowmuch better Some of the stuff is really cheap here. There was a sale and I got them for HKD6500 (USD835) including installation. Probably its the heavy competition here among the shop. But I do not complain :P
  18. Most Altezza I see in Hong Kong are modded. We have a great choice here.
  19. Hong Kong does not have a law that forbids higher than 280ps cars. Japan used to have a Gentlemen agreement among Japanese car manufacturers that limits the power up to 280ps and max speed to 180kph for the Japan market. However, nowadays many cars have actually more power than 280ps. e.g. Aristo/GS300 3.0l has about 230ps, or 77ps/l Aristo Twin Turbo with 3.0l has only 280ps (or 93ps/l which hard to believe, since many NA engines have higher power/l than this) Chaser has a 2.0 Twinturbo also with 280ps Skyline GT-T has 280ps using a 2l engine Skyline GT-R has 280ps using a 2.5l engine So, all these socalled 280ps engines are either downtuned, or have actually more than 280ps, but 280ps is giving as the official figure Nowadays, Japanese car manufacturers are starting to quote officially over 280ps for some cars, thus breaking this 280ps agreement. By the way, in the past non-Japanese cars were not committed to this 280ps gentlemen-agreement, therefore, a Ferrari 360 has 400ps, not 280ps in Japan. Alex
  20. Hi Matthew, thanks for your reply. I have seen the links, I am also registered for the UK Forum :P However, these links are merely opinions/theoretical thoughts about this subject, but nobody actually installed one of these chips. Comparable chips are also available for other brands, like BMW 323i and 328i and they does add about 10% more power and torque. Sometimes these chip tuning companies offer a money-back garantuee, so I thought that somebody would have tried Too bad there are no such chiptuners in Hong Kong. I would try
  21. Some links to 2nd hand Chasers. http://www2.auto22.com/autosearch_adv_resu...&s_Sequence=asc
  22. In Hong Kong Toyota/Lexus has many exciting models, besides the Altezza. A lot of them are (Twin-)Turbo charged, like the Aristo TT, and the Chaser. The Chaser Tourer V has the 1JZ-GTE 6 Cylinder engine with officially 280ps (but much in real life ) They are relatively cheap (a lot cheaper than Altezzas), although the insurance is holding a lot of people off.
