I've found this forum to be a great source of information. And as a 1st-time owner of a Lexus, I've found the responses, advice and views of more "senior" members very helpful. BTW, buying the IS250 SL has been the best use of my kids' inheritance so far - Love that car!!! And a big thank you to everyone who shares their knowledge and experience so freely - so please keep it coming !!

I've just got my car fixed for rattles from the dash and it was done under warranty, no questions asked, Lexus Brighton did keep the car overnight, so it's probably not a small job.

The reason for checking this out was to change the space saver spare to a full size spare wheel for long trips - and that only makes sense if you have the same sized tyres all around. As ilv1004s said, if full size spare doesn't fit in the boot well, then not much point in changing anything, is there?

If anyone has switched over from the standard front 225/45R17, rear 245/45R17 tyres to 245/45R17s all around, I'd love to hear your views on this. Quietness, handling, braking, longevity, etc. And is it possible to store a full sized tyre instead of the space saver? Thanks Subby

I managed to download V16 and install it successfully following the instructions and links from this forum - was worth the effort - this version seems to provide smarter routing options, but not sure since I've never used Sat Nav before. Earlier version I had was V14.

Thanks to the instructions in various posts here, I was able to download the Whereis V16 Lexus-Toyota DVD, burn it successfully and install it ... no major problem, except for the download which took 6 days!! A special thanks to you, Korvan, for the video - after viewing that, it was all a piece of cake! Thanks everyone, once again - this forum is really fun !! Subby

Firstly, thanks to everyone for their comments and feedback. In particular, Lexus Nerd - thanks for the link http://www.lexus.com.au/service/fuel/. That has put my mind at ease once and for all on the E10 issue. The following are my conclusions from the posts so far: It's fine to use E10 95 Octane fuel - the E10 and 95 Octane are BOTH important. Fuel consumption is affected more by driving style and conditions than by the E10 addition. In Melbourne, United's E10 95 Octane fuel is cheaper than any other brand of 91 Octane ULP, let alone other 95 Octane fuel (with or without discount fuel vouchers) .... so it makes good sense to use it if there is an outlet handy. Could you more experienced Lexus owners please clarify this point for me? I've got conflicting advice from the people at the dealer's. The salesman said that you could use ethanol-mixed 95 octane fuel quite safely, while the service bloke advised against this. Haven't noticed any major difference in the engine behaviour between United's 95 Octane ethanol-mixed vs Shell's 95 Octane....however, I think I was getting better mileage with United compared to Shell. Haven't tried 98 Octane - the price differential seems significant. Would love to hear what your experience has been. Thanks Subby (IS250 Sports Luxury - 2007)

Have recently fulfilled my dream of driving a Lexus and bought an IS250 Sports Luxury (2007). It has taken some getting used to (the car is more intelligent than I am !!) but it's been great so far. And Lexus service also lives up to its first-rate reputation. If any of you more experienced Lexus owners have some tips on some do's and don'ts for newbies like me, that would be appreciated. Looking forward to some enjoyable years ahead and an interesting exchange of views
