  1. Gldsaucer, Lots of threads on this subject on this Forum that you might care to check out. You will find some good options like buying the parts yourself and getting Lexus do the changing. Good luck !!
  2. That seems like a lot of Kms for a 4-year old car, Sid - personally I'd look for another one. There are a lot of threads on this subject in this Forum - so please check them out. FYI, I've recently bought a 2010 IS250 SL with 13,700km on the clock from a dealer - approx $45K on the road. Of course, waited a LONG time before getting what I was looking for.
  3. Once you've driven an IS250 SL, every other car is ruined for you, Jordiisme -- they are brilliant !!!! Started with a 2007 IS250 SL and although it took me 18 months to find the right car, have now upgraded to a 2010 IS250 SL. During the process I learnt the following - prices are cheaper in SA and QLD; it is a buyer's market and you can bargain far more aggressively than you think possible; preferably buy from a Lexus dealer and above all, be patient - you'll get what you're after. And if there any suitable cars in Melbourne that you'd like an opinion on or checked out, PM me. Good luck!!
  4. Blacky, It may be that your card key battery is running low - although typically it would give you a warning message. I had something similar when I bought my car and had all the fobs and card key with me the first time - the car went nuts and didn't know which one to respond to !!!
  5. Have you considered getting someone like Windscreen O'Brien checking it out to see what they might be able to do? And RACV also claim to do windscreen repairs.
  6. Problem was fixed during the service at Lexus Brighton - they did a "reset" of the settings and its all fine now :)
  7. Update after dealer service: Sadly the angle cannot be adjusted!! :( It does seem to move down a certain amount further from the normal setting, so I re-adjusted the normal setting just a bit lower than before and the reversing result is satisfactory now.
  8. PPLs, Found these instructions on another forum: "Alright here u go folks .. U start the engine Put it on reverse Select from ur door panels the side mirror u wanna adjust Move the side mirror to the point u want using the arrows And thats it When u put it into drive. The mirror will go back to the original setup And when u put it on reverse ur mirrors will till" Hope to try it out later today - Nope - didn't work ! Will get the dealer to fix it tomorrow - I hope!!
  9. Thanks for the suggestion, FrankyX - will give it a go. And kyo, yes, the 2IS Sports Luxury has this feature - not sure about Prestige or Sports models.
  10. Have the same problem on the same model car, I CU2 - will get it checked on Friday during its 36 month dealer service and get back to you.
  11. Followed the instructions and everything came on screen as stated - BUT - didn't quite know how to deal with the adjustment arrows, so checkiened out and leaving it to the dealer to fix when the car goes for its service on Friday!! Thanks again, lance Subby
  12. Thanks for this as well, Lance - have printed off the instructions, will give it a try over the weekend and let you know how it went.
  13. Thanks for the advice, Lance - worked like a charm !!!! And BTW, liked your writeup on the new 3IS - wish I could afford it !!
  14. I've noticed that the rear vision camera images and the yellow/green lines on screen on the IS250 don't seem to be aligned too well - the lines appear to be off to the right compared to the camera image view. Does anybody know if this can be adjusted?
  15. Just finished selling the 2007 IS250 SL - at the time, found out that Brighton's Dealer Extended Warranty does not go with the car - so will be changing over to Blackburn now.
  16. I've just got my newly purchased 2010 IS250 Sports Luxury settings done by the dealer. The following are changes observed between the 2007 version and this one: The locking/unlocking beep seems much louder - can this be adjusted or is it a single setting? The seatbelt chime seems much louder too - can this be adjusted? The "Screen Off" button needs to be reset each time you check a display eg Climate Control - in the 2007 version, the screen switched off after 30 or so seconds or by a 2nd touch of the button - dealer says this is a design feature - is this fact or fiction?!
  17. I use Meguiars products - not sure if this is good for restoring badly treated leather. Available at SuperCheap and Autobarn
  18. Yes, it helps to take it back to the dealer and be persistent - there are plenty of threads on the forum on this topic - results are mixed, experiences seem to vary quite a bit - some dealers appear to take such complaints more seriously than others. Good luck!
  19. You're perfectly right, I CU2 - loved the features of the 2007 model, some of which have been dropped from 2011 onwards eg 17" wheels, active cornering headlights, DVD player, auto-adjusting rearview mirror. So bought the most recent model which still retains those features. And loving it !!!
  20. Have finally bought a 2010 IS250 SL after a long search. I deleted all the stored addresses before discovering that the previous owner had left 6 CDs in the car. Am trying to get the "Home" address to write to him and arrange a pick-up. Pressing the "Home" button shows me the location on the map but can't get to a "View" or "Edit" screen to get details. Any suggestions? Thanks Subhash PS - my 2007 IS250 SL is up for sale, if anyone here is interested: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Lexus-IS250-2007/SSE-AD-2158799/?Cr=3 EDIT: Sorry, folks, should have read the manual first - all sorted out using "Home" settings in Setup Navigation Menu.
  21. Totally silent on my car - until this thread, thought that was normal !!! And refills cost $44 all up last time (after about 60,000 kms) - done by the dealer. Subby
  22. Not quite sure what happens at a meet, but happy to attend one and find out !!! :) Subby
  23. Had the same problem, read somewhere else in this forum about using WD40 to spray the belts - did liberal and indiscriminate spraying on the weekend and the car is whisper quiet once again !!!
