  1. thanks mate ! i was looking at lexus of north miami's ebay site and yesterday around (1am1ish) they had the air intake listed for approx. AUS $270 and on their store page they also wrote "free shipping for this weekend for international orders" according to google local time at miami at the moment is Sunday 7.11pm BUT now the intake is listed at approx $284 and i can't find any info on the free shipping thingo anymore
  2. hey guys, Looking at grabbing a fsport air intake for the is250. After reading up on info on the web i've come across hydrolock a couple of times and its got my scared. What are the chances of it happening? The fsport intake uses a modified version of the factory airbox so everything is enclosed so am i right in assuming that everything should be ok ? The car does 6hrs of highway driving/week and sometimes 60% or more of the trip is undertaken through rainy conditions at 110km/hour. Car isn't lowered. Also will this device work by any chance? Furthermore, are there any improvements in fuel economy namely for those who mostly drive on the highway ? http://www.aemintakes.com/air_bypass_valve.htm Cheers guys !
  3. i went to my local discount store and bought 2 needles which u use to inflate rugby/soccer balls for 99 cents. Once i heard the click, 2 small flathead screwdrivers on either side of the fascia popped it open
  4. hey guys, Looking to upgrade my stock halogen bulbs with a HID xenon kit off ebay, specifically this kit: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/260552366719?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 In the item description it said, "*Certain cars may require a relay harness and or canceller(sold separately)." My question is will i need this relay harness/canceller? Cheers in advance! Babaquazi

  9. hey guys, i was looking at changing some of the lights around the car. I found an item on ebay listed here I found that the following light types are suitable for the following locations. Parking light: 168 License plate: 168 Map light: 168 Step/Courtesy light: 175/194 However seeing as the product is a "42 LED SMD T10" they said "These LED bulbs are longer and wider than stock T10 wedge light bulbs, therefore please make sure they will fit before buying." So to the members who have changed their lights around is there sufficient clearance for these LED's? Also in Australia are we allowed to have Blue LED's for our licence plate lights? Cheers, Babaquazi :D
  10. I'm sure that we all know about the various supercharger kits for the IS250 that are out there. Not many of them can be purchased by us everyday consumers. This post is probably not as relevant as before with the introduction of the IS350 into the Australian market. However, i decided to look into the RGM supercharger kit manufactured by RGM Motorsport Here is the link for the is250 page and the youtube video. I sent him an email asking "hi, i was looking at ur products particularly the RGM supercharger for the lexus is250. I was wondering whether you could ship it to postcode 2000, located in Sydney, Australia (would it operate in Australia due to differences in altitude and everything?) and what would be the approximate price for all parts required for the conversion including shipping." Managing Partner Rob Green replied and stated, "GMotorsport would like to thank you for your interest in RGM performance. RGM thanks you for your request regarding supercharging the LEXUS is250. We are able to supply the kit in export form for R60 000.00 (ZAR South African rand ) this price EXCLUDING the14% tax as it is for export. This will not include the exhaust system(as it will not meet your emission standards). Shipping will be for your account door to door. The approximate size as well as the weight are as follows: 32 x 23x 22cm and the weight is 44Kilograms DHL will charge approximately R 10 780.00 ZAR. Here is the file which Managing Partner Rob Green sent to me within his email LEXUS IS2500 SC.pdf I just thought that i'd post it up here so that if anyone is interested in supercharging their is250, they have a starting point :D
  11. hey guys, i was looking around on the net and i saw that some guys were applying plastidip to their rims. Has anyone on the forums gone for it and if so would they be able to upload some pics? Cheers! :D
  12. LOL i had an old navman before which asked me to "perform a u-turn when possible" when i was in the harbor tunnel....:/
  13. "Prices will be in the $40k area" kewl so i can get a 3-4 year old IS250 or a brand new one for $40k ...I'M IN :D
  14. these guys are pretty good. Payless Matraville 553 Bunnerong Road Matraville * Tel: (02) 9311 7022
  15. Toyota Aurion. Hmmm if you're not too fussed about luxury badges then for $35k you could the top of the Range 08/09 Aurion Presara which is jam packed with features(basically all features of the is250 SL except for radar cruise control). It has a 3.5L V6 which will output 200kW however it will use up slightly more fuel with a combined fuel rating of 9.9L/100km compared to the 250's 9.1L/100km. It also comes standard with a lot more accessories. If your back seats are going to be used, then the Aurion would be worth having a look due to the back seats being roomier- the car itself is also larger as it competes in the large car market with the Commo's/Falcons. However, the is250 has a more aggressive look, is more fun to drive AND IS RWD. I have driven both cars and i would recommend the is250 :) ...this last comment may start a flame war but if your after power and have got $35k to spend and don't mind the aurion then maybe a TRD Aurion may be worth having a look..sadly it is FWD like the aurion but it does kick out with 241kW @ 6400rpm and max Torque 400Nm @ 4000rpm. Just my opinion tho..
  16. Parramatta......service direct 9204 6520 Sydney City....service direct 8303 1933 Chatswood......service direct 9406 8388 I think the price you've been quoted ($920) is very competitive.... hmmm i phoned up all the sydney dealers for the 60k service and they all asked for $750~ish and Lexus of Canberra was asking for about $540 so in my opinion i reckon the canberra branch will be cheaper HOWEVER i don't have any idea about the 90k service so yeh i'd probs say to just give em a quick phone call to see whats going on.
  17. hey guys, We recently went to our mechanic to get our tyres changed and he installed a set of LED parkers for free :). Once i asked him about a xenon conversion kit he said that it would cost $350 installed(i can't remember the brand but he said that that he's had no issues with them). I heard that for the hid xenon conversion, the front bumper has to come off. Now the vehicle is still under warranty so will there be any issues? Either with the changing of the lights and/or the bumper coming off. Cheers, Babaquazi
  18. i saw that post before but it didn't answer my question in regards to the dvd player. Can't i insert the V15 map disc into the dvd player without removing the clock fascia?
  19. greetings all, This is my 1st post on the lexus forums. I recently bought an '08 is250 X. Now i have a "V15 maps" which i'd like to install. On my old Aurion presara, it was a simple matter of taking the old disc out of the dvd player, inserting the V15 disc and it was all done :). However, with the lexus, i saw that the clock fascia has to be removed? Would i be able to just insert the V15 disc into the dvd player? Would anyone be able to give me a outline as to what to do? IF anyone would be able to help out this newcomer then they'd get a loud THANKS! :)
