  1. Sorry, I am still not with you. $4,200.00 for a tune? Reading other forums just about everyone says the current OEM cannot be tuned.
  2. Sorry, what are you suggesting you get for $4,200.00? Are you saying Novel Headers and Exhaust + Tune or something less than this?
  3. 45,000 km service done and what can I say. They did the service in a prompt time and at a lower price than they quoted me. Didn't replace my brakes as they think I will get another 10 - 15,000 km out of them, so that is going to be possible 60,000 km out of one set of rotors and pads Found rear shock leaking and have order and will call me when in. As I say I am not over the moon with their service but to date and other than my rattle issues they have always been good. For me they are convenient and pricing is not through the roof relative to other similar brands. Oh and they always pay the tolls on the loan cars, but the potential $3,000.00 excess always gives me the *BLEEP*s LOL Yes, chocolates mean nothing if the service is *BLEEP*. So in closing, if it wasn't for the very small but persistent tick / rattle which can't be fixed I would be happy enough and would kind of recommend.
  4. Please show me this? OEM rotors from Lexus are around $570.00 each and I think that is discounted so I am interested in your comments about the Brembo Kit pricing. As I am lead to believe Brembo do not provide a two piece rotor for the OEM size and combination on the ISF and your need to step up to the GT Kit with a 380 mm x 32 mm rotors and to be honest I can't see them letting this sort of hardware go for $2,300.00 a pair. If you have this info right, please provide the details and I will gladly hand over $2,300.00 AUD incl GST for a complete front set of GT Brembo 380 mm x 32 mm Rotors (two piece) with six piston calipers. You may well be right but from the information I have I would suggest you are looking at more like > $6,500.00 for a front rotor and caliper combination.
  5. Still working on this. Seeing as my brakes are nearly ready to be done I thought I might get off my but and try to do something. So the story now is I can get a set of two piece front rotors :) Ended up talking to Harrop down here in Melbourne and stopped in there today, long story short, something around $2,300.00 incl GST for the pair. Didn't look close enough at the estimate to see what the 1 off engineering cost was but that was all up. The catch is the need a rotor to work off. As asked before does anyone have and old one floating around???? PLEASE!!!!
  6. I have used Melbourne since new with my ISF. My experiences have been indifferent, that is I have not had any issues with any actual servicing or the staff but I have persistent rattles that they don't seem to be able to fix (multiple trips). Can give you some further feedback on Friday as my car is going in for my 45,000 km service and possibly brake pads. Jamie the service manager is pretty good and has looked after me where possible. They always wash and vacuum the car and I think sometimes I have even got some goodies (chocolates) on picking up car from service. Loan car are IS250s and CT200h, I think they might have some IS350's also. Their service office is nothing flash though, so don't expect anything special if you need to spend some time waiting. I think you can go sit down in the sales area where they have coffee and drinks etc. I just dump and run in a loan CT :)
  7. OH I like them, nice choice. See you are running Michelins, that is the size combination I was thinking of running when changing soon. Any rubbing? What are the offset of the wheels?
  8. No update on the DBA rotors but I thought I would see what Harrop can offer, so I am meeting with them during the week (time permitting). The bummer is I think I will have to do my brakes before I get a go ahead on either of these but will keep looking.
  9. Just about the get the brakes done and wondering what people have been paying for their front and rear rotors? Cheers
  10. I know it is a ridiculous idea but I wonder if the caliper was the same and you could buy the two piece rotor and dog bone adaptor. Would be cool if it was but I am only dreaming LOL
  11. Still going at 46,000 km on the original pads!!!!!! :) In anticipation of needing them replaced I brought some pads from the Manukau Dealer who posts on here, super cheap but don't need yet Woo Hoo Dealer is saying I might get another 10,000 km out of them, obviously I have not tracked the beast LOL
  12. Hi All Not long until I have to replace the front brakes on the beast and have been thinking about two piece rotors. I know FIG in the US is offering these but thought I would look at something local. So have contact DBA and they are looking into what could possibly be done with their 5000 series club spec. Something I think they are going to need is a rotor. Has anyone who has replaced their fronts kept a worn rotor? Will keep you all posted if something comes off. http://www.dba.com.au/products/clubspec-t/
  13. Hey Richie, any news or updates on these?
  14. http://ninemsn.carpoint.com.au/news/2012/sports/lexus/is-f/lexus-has-head-in-the-clouds-with-is-f-hill-climber-30742 Hope someone puts it up on youtube :)
  15. Nice Other than sound do you notice much from the butt dyno?
  16. Magnetic controlled dampers, maybe??????
  17. "Totally unacceptable IMO" very true! For me LEXUS's brand is / was all about perfection. Rattles / Squeaks don't = PERFECTION. While the service department try their best LEXUS I think really do very little. For my I understand they got a specialist in from LEXUS Aust. to look at the problem and still nothing. I didn't put the car in at first because of the problem you mentioned, pulling it apart and causing more rattles but I had to in the end. Oh well keep driving and keep squirting the silicon spray lol
  18. You've have me on this one, brand new + $100K car and a window / door squeak / rattle that the dealer can't fix after multiple service visits and in one case a week in the shop. As I said I really like my car but it that really put a BIG dampener on the whole new to LEXUS experience. Unfortunately this is not something you know you are going to get, when I test drove an F before purchasing I didn't hear anything and you obviously can't test drive your new car. So within a week of owning the car the squeak / rattle became apparent. In the end I got fed up with returning the car to the local dealer and tried contact LEXUS Australia about it, but they are as useful as tits on a bull. You can't call them direct, you can't email them direct you have to go through a PR company and all they give you is lip service. In the end I have to say the service team at my local dealer was great (I think ;) ) but all said and done after numerous visits they could not resolve the problem to my satisfaction. Hence I decided to drive my car and enjoy rather than keep thinking about returning it to the shop. I regularly spray my seals with Silicon, which helps sometimes but not always. Hey I own and get to drive an F when ever I want so all can't be that bad :D
  19. Part and Parcel of owning an F I think, everybody has the squeal and excess dust with OEM Pads / Rotors. Me it doesn't bother me that much as I new about it before purchasing and hence take it with the car. + $2,000.00 for front brakes is another thing. Phew pretty steep! Again something I read about before purchasing but hurts a little more when you have to open the wallet ;)
  20. I'm just over 30,000 and still going, might have another 10,000 km in them so they said at the last service.
  21. I had the same opinion after picking up my F and the price I paid but in the end I had to just give up and enjoy the car for what it was not how many times it was in the workshop. They did adjust the door as the last thing and that did kind of fix it somewhat but it has recently returned again and see if I can tidy it up before thinking about returning for warranty work.
  22. As has been said this is common in the IS. I had this issue from the beginning and after numerous returned to the dealer I eventually gave up and live with it. Yes it does go away with some silicon spray or similar product but it always comes back, sometimes bigger than ever. I think my car is great but this is the one thing that *BLEEP*S me about the car, the squeak / rattle is right by your ear so even the smallest you notice. I am guessing different cars have different levels of noise and different people will have mor eor less tolerance, I also thing there was a fix for the seat belt pivot in the B pillar.
  23. You have to pay via wire transfer, they do not except international credit cars. If you have a US credit card you might get them to accept. Looking at the number you have mentioned I think you will only be saving around $400.00 AUD give or take a fee. AUD has just dropped! GST $115.00 Carrier Fee for GST transaction $50.00 (Min) Local Tyre company fit and Balance $100.00 Was the $1,800.00 the best local price you could find? I know $400, is $400 in the pocket but for me it is not enough of a saving to warrant the trouble. But each to their own. Good Luck
  24. Yes, Tire Rack are fine. Many, many people have used them for tires and wheels. Be aware you could be hit with GST and possible some duty for the tyres, so at a minimum you will be 10% more for GST, plus the freight company normally charges for the GST transaction say around $50.00. At $1,150.00 you are $150 over the GST exclusion threshold but sometimes they let things pass. But the answer the question and as mentioned, I have used Tire Rack myself and seen many other various forum users do the same.
  25. Might have been better if I washing it before the photos, too lazy
