  1. If anyone is interested I have one set of ISF OEM rear pads brought in from the US that I am selling for $170 (what they cost me). pm me if interested .
  2. Blasting with the gerni when cold definitely works for me to stop squealing.
  3. Do you have an old set of ISF Rims? I am wanting a set to fit some semi slicks to. Not worried about appearance, can be scratched as intend only using for track days.
  4. The tyre combination you quoted does match the ISF rim size so no worries here. I have had my Michelins on for a few months now and the car is without a doubt better handling and quicker around a track than with the previous bridgestone 225/255 set-up. Absolutely no rubbing, no increase in noise, no change to steering feel. Speedo negligible change, undereads fractionally as it did previously. Grip is far better in the dry, honestly in the wet the Michelins are supposed to be superior to the Bridgestones but I have not felt this, car feels the same in the wet as before. Am hoping Michelins will wear better than OEM's but remains to be seen. I highly recommend the 245/275 set-up and I would never go back to the 225/255 OEM size.
  5. I might be mistaken but think one of the cons of replacing the whole set-up is that you loose the two stage induction. Firstly I love this sound when the second stage opens and ve also heard that you can lose bottom end without the 2 stage intake.
  6. Will fitting hi flo cats reduce the sound a bit?
  7. Hey Richie How is the in cabin noise with the headers? Mine is an everyday driver so do not want it too loud from inside under normal driving conditions
  8. Hi Mans247 Are you considering headers and do you know if they have some spare sets available. Must organise a cruise when your car is done, Pete's Ridge or similar
  9. I am in St Ives so must be close. pm me, I am around all day today
  10. JoeZ when I did my research was the best value for money in terms of hp gain, no drone, and all round sound. I would think that this is the most common aftermarket cat back exhaust fitted in Oz which says something. Many forum members have JoeZ and I for one would be happy to take you for a spin so that you can feel and hear it first hand.
  11. Recently brought in the same tyres from Tire Rack in the States. Brought all 4 in at the same time and paid AUD296 in duties, AQIS, etc. Total landed cost excl fitting was AUD1911. Reason I did it was because could not get a 275x30x19 locally, only 35 was available. BTW the rims look amazing, 10.5 rears must look pretty mean from behind the car.
  12. 4 tyres cost me $360 from tyre rack to ship. Got Michelin Pilot Super Sports in the size I wanted 245 and 275. Probabl saved about $450-500 I am in Sydney, Northern suburbs, any recommendations on where to get the tyres fitted. Have had the tyres for over a month and plan to fit them next week.
  13. Hi Marvin Everyone to their own but have you considered going with a wider tyre i.e. 265 or 275. This is still ok for the std 9" rim and has been done on many ISF's. I have gone 275x30x19 Michelins - not an available size in Oz. s just under 1 week to get here.
  14. Hi Marvin I have just brought Michelins in from tirerack in the US. Can highly recommend them and a fair bit cheaper than local. See my comments under the tyre topic in this forum.
  15. Tyres arrived today, with AQIS, customs and tax I have them in my garage for $550 less than a local quote. Reason I imported was mainly to get the size that I wanted but nothing wrong with $550 for my troubles. Still have to get them fitted but for the time being am enjoying wringing the last out of the the old tyres. Michelin tread pattern looks aggresive and look forward to comparing the difference once fitted.
  16. Time to change tyres. After a lot of research I have decided to go with 245/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear - this combo IMO is good and am happy with rolling circumference Vs original as well as front Vs back for the new set-up. Have ordered Michelin Pilot Super Sports in from the US since Michelin Australia do not stock the 275/30 and only have 275/35. Will let all know how this goes as even with customs and tax it should work out considerably cheaper than the local quote that I got in Sydney if all goes well. Looking forward to trying this tyre which from various independent reports should perform a lot better than the Bridgestones particulalry at Eastern Creek on the track. Mileage should also be a lot better.
  17. I will be surprised if peformance is improved over standard for both low temp as well as hard braking high temperatures. Normally performance pads do not stop as well as standard street pads when cold. Dust improvement sounds good.
  18. Hi I phone my insurance each time to check. Make sure you make it clear to them that it is non-timed. No difference if you go with Chatswood or not for the insurance. Look, i don't want to open a debate again about what should be free or not. I don't mind paying for the track time but would think Chatswood could sponsor their side of things if they want to build an 'F' image. Don't get me wrong, it is nice being with the Lexus group though. You definitely get more than enough time on the track so no worries about that. Have never done a skid pan day, could be interesting, more so than a proposed cruise day to Hunter Valley with the F club for something like $200 p.p (if this included a high speed run at the air strip or something like that it would be a different story but for lunch alone it sounds like this proposed day is very costly).
  19. Got one today from Chatswood for 30 May. Weighing up whether to go through them or direct for $300 less.
  20. Interesting, tried again today and with lights off it drops to 500rpm and I see what you guys mean by saying it feels rough. With JoeZ at 700rpm it throbs nicely, at 500 I cannot hear the exhaust at all.
  21. Mine is sitting at between 700 and 750 at idle with air con on or off and in gear or in park - all with lights off I think but will check this tomorrow as it was about 5.20 pm so not 100% certain about the lights.
  22. I am also on the North Shore, enjoy your F. I can recommend the Events o'Neil Burrows drive days at Eastern Creek. Look them up on the internet. A lot of fun in a safe environment with race drivers who will spend as much time with you in the car as you want throughout the day. Since it is non-timed 'driver training' some insurance companies will cover you for the day but need to check with them. Cheers Malibu
  23. Are we still on for wisemans on Saturday? How many are still available? I am ok for 31st but if we take a drive out to wisemans will probably take company for the drive (wife). Would personally prefer a drive such as wisemans as opposed to a meet in the city or suburbs.
  24. Just returned from Canberra, visited friends there for the weekend. Nice road from Goulburn to Woolongong, twisty and very enjoyable.
