  1. Just had full OEM brakes and rotors front and back replaced at 40000 kms. $5500.
  2. Since new, the car occasionally will start to crank but then immediately switch off. I mean completely off with the steering wheel returning to off position. This may occur 2-3 times in a row for several days then back to normal. Over past 6 years it has had new battery, alternator and injectors checked and new fuel pump. It has spent many weeks at Lexus being investigated but none of the repairs (all under warranty) have made a difference. I’m starting to think it is an issue with the immobiliser? Any thoughts?
  3. Sold? or still in market
  4. Not happy. Car 4500 kms, fsport turbo. Developed a clunking sound when travelling at low speed over rough grounds. Or, accelerating over uneven ground. Clunk is loud enough to hear over radio. On drivers side of car but difficult to pinpoint as to whether it's coming from front or back. Suspect it is a vibration travelling along the vehicles chassis rails, hence difficult to pinpoint. Believe source maybe a suspension component. Would expect this from a bimmer or Merc, not a Lexus. Clublexus US has a number of members reporting the same problem. Fixes have included replacement of dampers but does not seem to get rid of problem. May wait for a TSB to be issued.
  5. And by the way. We don't get individual tyre TPMS readings. The system just tells us there's a flat tyre and you have to carry your own pressure gauge. Lame Lexus lame.

Is that the f-sport variant. Mine delivered Decemer 2015. Had updated centre mirror and seal on back door.

No. Speed limits not shown in Australia as they are in the US. Also, Australian TPMS system only indicates a flat tyre not individual tyre pressures. No ACS In the F-sport either.

My dealer is pretty sensible. They half heartedly mentioned it was available. Everyone knows it's just expensive polish etc. Dealers can really put the hard sell on because it's a high margin product. You negotiate hard on the car's price then when they have you tired try to sell you this rubbish. Once in my younger days went for the rust proofing with lifetime warranty. However, to maintain the warranty the car had to have a high water pressure clean by the installers of the gunk every 2 years or warranty void. Didn't follow thru when I found out the exorbitant price of the wash. If you want to seal the car for added protection, lots on the market that you can apply yourself and only have to apply once a year. Can help protect the self healing coat particularly from bird poop.

Car has a self healing top coat. It is a soft clear coat that is supposed to flow over minor scratches. Top coat treatments are not recommended.

Car finally got here. Delivery a bit disorganised. No 'gift' like when I bought the previous one. Realised wheel locks on the contract not installed. Anyway, car is gorgeous and very happy. Have had additional accessories installed by Lexus service dept. Save on LCT with post delivery installs. Service dept excellent as always and have done a great job. Car great to drive. Only issue is fuel consumption. Suspect roof racks contributing.
  11. Can Lexus please update the operating system so the Siri Eyes Free works on Australia. Works fine on US models but not active on Aus models. I'm sure an update will fix this quick smart. Why does Lexus think all Australian buyers are over the age of 50. No disrespect to the over 50 category.
  12. Siri eyes free not working on Australian spec models.??Why. Also TPMS does not provide individual tyre pressures like US. Only tells you there's a flat tyre so you have to carry a tyre gauge! Cost cutting.

Ordered mine late August. Initially told October delivery, then November. Now December. Waiting, waiting. Waiting........
  14. Good luck with a 2 month wait. I ordered mine end of August and was recently contacted that it may not be delivered until December or January.
  15. Does anyone have any advice experience as to the best or better Lexus dealer in terms of quality of maintenance and cost in Sydney? Help greatly appreciated.
  16. I have a 2011 CT and have been generally happy with it. Infact I've recommended it to workmates and 2 of them have purchased one. Positives: Wife loves it, great radar cruise control, nice stereo system, love the fuel efficiency, adequate power (don't know what the fuss is about a lack of power) and superbly comfortable seats with spine tingling heat warmers. Negatives: Being a first model and mine is an early build there are a number of quality problems. Although the dealer has fixed these it usually takes 2 visits to sort it out as the initial response is to 'adjust' rather than replace. I have had replaced the passenger door grab handle, the moonroof motor and gear set and the window tint on 2 doors that was bubbling and creasing. They were unable to find an irritating dash vibration and rattle which I have localised myself and will bring it back for a definitive repair. Issues: A major issue is that the car is too low so front bumper scrapes are a problem as are scrapes on the bottom of the passenger door. Getting into the car is not easy as I have a dodgy knee. The heart rending crunch of the mags on the kerb is also all too common. The suspension is way to stiff (try driving a C class Lexus engineers) and the cabin noisy on all but smooth freeways. The NVH is definately not to the standard of other Lexus models. Rants: Just one. I don't like the way Australians are unfairly penalised when they purchase a Lexus compared to our US friends. Accessories here a very limited without even touch up paint being available for purchase and features such as blue tooth streaming and voice activation for satellite navigation are deactivated. Why? Even the new cheap Prius C has these features . Regrets: The price of the car was set too high initially and Lexus has been back tracking with a succession of special 'drive away deals' ever since I bought the car. Not great for the already poor 3 year resale value of the car listed by Wheels magazine as about 50%. If you don't want to get depressed don't check out Lexus US prices where a LS is priced as much as my CT! On a long drive on a smooth highway with the moonroof open and the stereo pounding all is forgiven. Next time, however, I will wait for the midlife update and price reductions before I purchase such a vehicle.
