  1. Haha yeh I just googled it, came across an ancient thread where some people showed how to fit it in their car - not sure if i'd want to do that to mine though, really don't want to damage the trim/seats/or whatever in the car. Also read that someone has been waiting ages for their tom's diffuser or something from modinjapan and they never got replied to until they made a thread on clublexus. I think the general consensus is JoeZ > Borla > XForce? Also supposedly there are a number of people that have issues with the varex system on the XForce.
  2. Not locally, I've called up Lexus of Chatswood recently and they said they don't do it anymore, not since the $ dropped somewhere back in 2012-13. I've been doing some searching around, your only options are - bestexhausts - can buy the Borla from there, but they just import it anyways - xforce - buy JoeZ from modinjapan and ship it over from the states. I was planning on getting the Borla, then found out that the JoeZ is superior in sound and quality/fit/finish (some report more droning and smell from the Borla) Did a bit more reading and also realized that the ISF stock exhaust doesn't come apart into several parts like the JoeZ etc. and therefore I have no way of getting it back home without renting a van/ute/whatever.
  3. Currently i'm looking at these - http://www.bestexhaust.com.au/store/borla-lexus-2008-2014-back-p-852.html Have done a little bit of reading and it seems like these exhausts are decent, although they appear to be the only ones available here in Australia that you can attain with somewhat ease. ** Did a bit of further reading and it seems like there may be possible quality issues with Borla exhausts? read someone with the IS350 one complaining that the fitment sucked as it hung far too low below the car. Furthermore, there have been mentions of people complaining about the droning with this exhaust, I think it's hard to pull the trigger on this without hearing it in real life as Youtube videos can differ greatly to what it sounds in person. The smell that comes out is probably an even bigger issue which has also been mentioned on clublexus.
  4. japanpartsmaster don't show the shipping costs, it claims they send you a separate bill after ordering it. vipautosalon comes to about $1500 delivered not including painting/coating it etc.
  5. Thanks, looks like the only option is through importing? Not looking for replicas, I've read that even the official ones have fitment issues, small gaps around etc. and the replicas are FAR worse in this regard.
  6. Hey guys, Does anyone know where the best place to get parts in particular the TOM's rear diffuser etc. are now with the ISF being deprecated. I've read a few threads here for where people purchased them, however they don't seem to carry those parts anymore and those threads were at least 2-3 years old. Thanks.
  7. Yeh the BMW one that I've heard about included the 428 435 and M4. This one seems to be the RCF and GSF, I would be fairly disappointed if it was anything else.
  8. Yep i'm planning on attending. it is only $185 per person which appears to be half the price of what BMW were charging.

  10. Yep that is exactly what I'm afraid of from the Insurance companies, thanks.
  11. Newb questions, i was initially looking at getting an I/H/E for my 2013 ISF, although what are some of the things that you must consider? e.g. - Warranty void? Mine runs out in a few months. - Legal? Emission regulations etc - Notify VicRoads? - Insurance - You must notify them and they may not cover it? Cheers and thanks in advance.
  12. Yep mine sits at the same on idle, fairly sure that's normal.
  13. I think the MY10 onwards had the HDD upgrade, however they didn't receive bluetooth music streaming until MY13 which is odd. If I recall correctly the way to differentiate it is from the center console, the older ones has 4 buttons and some up/down on each side under the CD tray whereas the new ones only have 3.
  14. Oh that's good to hear! they're quite rare and especially if you want the MY13 models, i'd recommend them due to the wider and nicer(subjective) BBS wheels and bluetooth music streaming. Car has been amazing and a huge upgrade, although still getting an issue with squealing brakes which is apparently normal although I'm yet to have it checked out. What kind of tips do you have on keeping it clean? Usually after it rains it's all disgusting again :( Just want something quick and easy haha... I usually just take it to the car wash but use a microfibre mitt to clean it as opposed to the disgusting scrub they have, and dry it off with a chamois. Then I just drive it back to the apartment car park and apply some bowden's liquid car wax all over and wipe it down with a microfibre cloth.
  15. Good luck mate, I waited about 6 months for mine here in VIC. Picked up the Starfire Pearl White MY2013 a few months back, absolutely loving the car but it's quite hard to keep clean unlike my previous Tungsten Pearl Silver IS250. Mine also has the standard interior, I'm yet to find one with alcantara interior on carsales.
  16. Yeh looked way too high for me. My ISF does about 16L/100 when I stepped on the gas a fair bit, usually around 14L/100 just standard driving though. Only just recently got mine but the previous owner averaged about 14 over the life of the vehicle, I'm guessing they drove it very very slowly on standard auto mode all the time. I'm thinking of getting mine reset to go into learning mode as well.
  17. Doesn't auto fold to my knowledge, at least mine doesn't (MY13) - it only auto tilts downwards in reverse if the mirror setting is set to L or R.
  18. The side mirrors tilt down as well, but even if I turn that feature off, It still makes the noise and I feel something readjusting in the back... Not sure if it's the suspension or brakes shifting or something, but I definitely hear it and feel it.
  19. Hey guys, Got my IS-F not too long ago and still getting used to a few things. One of my questions being something I've found from shifting from Drive->Reverse and Reverse->Drive; I notice and feel that something changes, like a suspension in the car like it's being lifted up and down slightly and it makes a slight creak? noise. Is this normal? Anyone else getting this? Thanks all.
  20. Yeh I think I'll need to take mine back to Lexus to have the rear brakes checked out, it squeals to no tomorrow, and it also seems like the first 5-10 minutes of driving is fine, then anything after that it starts squealing more and more which is weird - as people have claimed that once it's warmed up, it's supposed to squeal LESS.
  21. I had the IS250 which was problem free for 4 years as my first car on my Ps as well, then was looking at upgrading. Went to Lexus and test drove multiple cars, ISF followed by an IS350FS and RC350FS. After driving the F, I just couldn't be satisfied with the 350 engine no matter how I tried to. Granted the interior was nicer on the newer cars, the engine, exhaust note and everything about the F just made it a league ahead of the other 2. The only issue I have with the F are the squeaky brakes which annoy me to no tomorrow and I get almost 600kms out of a full tank of the 250 but only about 350kms in the ISF.
  22. I had them recently replaced on my new ISF before I picked it up, all up was about 4.2k. But they squeal a ridiculous amount and it's annoying me to no end every time I apply the brake softly to the lights. Don't think it's worth it for me to get aftermarket brakes until the new ones wear out. It also seems like the more I drive it, the squeakier it gets and it's less squeaky when I first start up the car and drive it the first 5 minutes. It also seems like it squeaks less after a clean...
  23. Yep I've done a fair bit of reading and a lot of people have claimed the same brake squeal with their ISF, and have opted for 3rd party routes such as Project Mu etc. Some people have also tried to get some de-greaser or something applied to the inside which apparently helped? Also thanks for letting me know that they do auto fold, so as long as I slide the button that adjusts the mirror to the active the L side it should auto fold? Who do you guys go through for car insurance? I ended up going with RACV without the premium policy which I don't think I need; it just offers unlimited windscreen claims, agreed value, unlimited car hire and some personal belongings insurance inside up to $1000 or 2000. It comes down to about $170 p/m, $250 p/m for the premium policy pack and for Allianz/AAMI it was about $280 per month lol... Selling old car on carsales, haven't had any bites yet after 7 days and i've priced it cheaper than the rest, hope it doesn't take too long to sell!
  24. Been driving a lot with my new starfire pearl white ISF and it's amazing, feels like a completely different car to my old IS250. What I've noticed: - Steering is much more rigid and harder - requires more force to turn the wheel etc. - Ride is much firmer... can feel all the small bumps on the road even on the 2012my13 edition that supposedly has a less harsh ride than the initial versions. - Can hear much more road noise and just general noise outside, I think it has less sound isolation than the IS250, maybe because of the tyres and sunroof? - Doesn't have cooled seats. - Side mirrors don't fold, I thought they would. - Indicators is on the side instead of the side mirrors, I think the newer IS models 2011 onwards for the IS250 have moved it to the side mirrors. - Engine is amazing, I think once it revs past 4000rpm the sound is addictive. - Brake squeal, I had brand new brakes replaced on them which on the invoice said it cost like $4100, so I assume it's the original ISF ones, but it squeals a LOT when i'm braking slightly and rolling at maybe 5-10km/h, will this go away? Should I complain about it and have it looked at? Thanks guys, overall VERY happy with the car, glad I made this purchase over the IS350/RC350 F-sport.
