  1. This should be a no charge driveway reprogram very easy to do... Ask at the service depmartment and let them know your looking at up grading in the very near future it always helps ie no cost and a free cup of coffee..
  2. Most dealerships should have master techs at least the foreman being one. This is a requirement of lexus for the dealership to maintain their lexus contract so make sure you have one of these techs do the job..I personally know the guys out at Melb, blackburn and brighton all able to do this job... Note you may also be looking at a sensor/water pump as these should be checked and replaced at the same time.Cost of replacing these later is quite expensive.(labour)
  3. All vehicles are sold with 3 keys two are master keys and one a sub key....
  4. Better late than never... the head unit is located under the drivers seat, tilt the seat up and all the way forward..Remove the cover 2 screws expose unit press button disc ejects incert new disc and wait till screen tells you it has loaded....
  5. the sat nav disc (headunit) located in the rear of the vehicle, where your jackand tool kit is.. look carefully and you will see a small cover remove cover exposing the face of head unit.. there should be a button press it to remove disc(remember ign on) incert new disc and wait till the screen tells you the loading is complete bingo all done....
  6. Hi i have seen and repaired the problem with the high pitched squeal noise.. it is a relay that is dying located in the master cylinder(the electrical side) most dealerships have been made aware of these... they also have the information on how to repair.. i believe the cost of a new master clyinder was 2k> The parts can be had for less than $10 and then the labour much cheaper option. Good luck with your endeavours..
  7. I don,t think its a fuse problem.. It does how ever sound like a switch or mirror problem.... suggest you go to a lexus dealership see if a tech can have a quick look(aka wait job). I,m sure there will be litttle or no charge... it may be a warranty item or a commen fault...
  8. Hi, vai_is200 you have to lift the rear of the cover as well as retracting it towards you.. To help lift it use a wide thin blade object..( i use a peice of perspecs)
  9. Hi streetlegal, i have fitted a body kit on the new is250 (front ,rear spoilers sideskirts, boot and exhaust tips) the kit was complete and supplied by lexus spareparts (aka toyota). easy to fit, looks great and not the type that would, scape on the pavement.. Although an x-tech home handy man skills only required with some commen sense...
  10. Why not buy the the bar and get some one else to fit it...(another workshop)Take it from me it aint that difficult to fit, it comes with very detailed instructions and only basic hand tools required.
  11. With reguards to the key problem. Lexus has found that the frequencyof the remote pads were similar to that of the scanners that are used in the shopping complexes... Also some telephone towers ..The fix for the IS250s requires a replacement chip and keyfob, that opperates on a different frequency...If you are having troubles you need to push the issue to get the upgrade..
  12. i believe it is a safety issue, that way no person can sneak in on you while your getting in.... you can how ever get lexus dealership to reset your smart remote to all door unlock.(free service) :D
  13. i believe most lexus dealerships will work on (soarers SC400)or at least know/recommend someone...there is a soarer club in australia you could try as well... happy hunting....
  14. save your money and buy a 300... a lot less headaches... i guess it,s a question of how much more power do you want?????????
  15. there is a place in melbourne called petroject the word is they can rest your ecu, that way it will accept a new keys.... also ask at any lexus dealership to try and reprogram your new keys as some of the sub keys were programed as masters from the factory.... good luck...
  16. hi, there... i shall enquire and post the cost of a master key for a LS430...
  17. hi. i don,t think your problem is in the disc... i have myself inserted an australian sat nav disc (ver 10) into a jap inport LS430 with no luck, i didn,t work.... the unit reported wrong discn or something like that.. i then put the orignal jap disc back in and it worked... well it would be great if i needed a map of japan.... so i think your problem lies else where... try disconnect unit/battery and see if the unit resets... good luck
  18. there is..... i believe some audio/aftermarket places do .. i have seen several units fitted to early lx470,s will inquire and post name/phone ....
  19. Mmmm don,t under stand why you play in service mode.. Tech only use this feature to diagnose problems with the system..... OK.. 2 ways to do this....1 what you will need to do is take it to a dealer ship and explain what happened.. this course of action will let the tech know how and where to look... the sat nav units have different configurations think i counted 8 or so...2 ignorance also serves well when it comes to a warranty.. Good luck..
  20. HI i,m not familiar with the rx300 although i have worked on a few.... seems to me that you need to ask the dealership for the fault code and the reason why you had the sensor replaced.. So let me see the replacement lasted a few days and failed... My bet would be that it,s a poor connection some where... the tech found a code(oxy sensor out of range or some thing like that) and deemed the sensor faulty with out checking the unit it,s self.... hope it helps..
  21. I,m sorry to inform u, but it,s true... i service these vehicles (lexus master tech) and it is common... i have seen vehicles as low as 14k and as high as 40k that required replacement pad/disc,s.. Most customers average 20k+ before they require a pad and disc machine.. the trade off is excellent braking at the cost of frequent replacement.... The warranty replacement was due to disc variation in thickness(casting) which when hot warped and produced the pedal pulsation. This was common on early models and have since been solved.(reworked disc).. hope this helps you out..
  22. to top up such a small amount tap water will do fine. You will notice that the reservoir will hold less than a litre between the two level marks.. super long life coolant is pink in colour long life coolant is red in colour sll is changed every 80k and ll is changed every 40k hope this helps...
  23. As we all know, when a new model hits the market it comes to supply and demand... If we look to the past it will show us the future.. If you wait you can and will get your discount... Brighton tend to stand firm Melbourne a little easier.. Blackburn new to the lexus team are hungry for a position.. Wyndam was the place to buy, alais no more.. my suggestion wait if you can......
  24. I would be happy to help out when i can with fault codes..( provided i am given time) I am a master tech for a lexus dealer in Australia.. and have access to manuals and disc,s.. I know what it,s like working on imports with little or no support.
