Yes shame, he's onto a Cayman GT4 rebuilt write off. Have you seen this guy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT-DZ2ukqAs&t=841s&ab_channel=WrenchEveryDay A 220000 mile ISF engine with rocker covers off His mate Tavarish is rebuilding a smashed McLaren 675LT (Sorry not sure how to make the actual vids appear!)

A couple of MY12/13s on Car Sales - they have the later style wheel similar to BBS RE-V, best looking I reckon but rare as hen's https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2012-lexus-is-is-f-auto-my13/OAG-AD-19301801/?Cr=0 https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2011-lexus-is-is-f-auto-my12/SSE-AD-6464992/?Cr=1 Both are $56K, I guess they are worth what people pay albeit these are both low km for age. Good luck!

Hi, I've had my MY11 2010 for just over 2 years, no major problems. I had a transmission wire loom connector that had a hairline crack in the molding that allowed transmission fluid to electrics that tripped CEL and sent the trans into limp mode. A new genuine part was only around $50 and Lexus fitted it in 30 mins or so. I couldn't see that this was a known issue on forums so just bad luck. Some forums talk of valley plate gasket leaks which is a decent job to get done, no issues with mine. On the US forum I think I saw a few threads on water pump failures (easy fix for a new one as it can be accessed at front of engine without taking cam chain and cam covers off). Again no probs with mine. Inner front tyre wear from soft bushings is a common forum thread, again this can be fixed with after market upgrades or RCF bushings. All forums say ISFs are reliable like most Lexus' of that era, 'bullet proof' is term thrown up for Lexus of that era. Compared say to M3 or C63 that I have read have some known potential engine problems. Then again any piece of machinery requires maintenance to operate to specification, of course the level of engineering or over-engineering will have an impact of tolerance of various parts functioning to spec if there is a lack of maintenance or constant use a the higher end of machinery operating envelope eg track use warrants more frequent maintenance/higher spec consumables. Parts prices can be high from dealers, so shop around on eBay and the usual internet third party sites for cheaper genuine or OEM rated parts. This forum put me onto Amayama for Toyota/Lexus and I already used RockAuto. I am very happy with mine although the previous owner did invest in good modifications - headers, exhaust, ECU remap, suspension, intake, throttle controller. Interior/trim seems to hold up quite well, as with any seats that have decent bolster these get squashed but the leather on mine hasn't scrubbed away. I think it was MY10 onwards that went to mechanical torsen LSD, prior to this it was an electronic 'LSD" that used the rear ABS sensors maybe to brake the spinning wheel. There a probably threads on this and overseas forums with more information too. I am not on Facebook but I have seen reference to material on there which is frequented a lot more than this forum. Goodl luck shopping.

Yours on Car Advice? v GSF

Superpro, I have them but they were on the car when I bought it, didn't even know until I'd already bought the RCF ones suggested on Babalouie's post and asked the dealer to install them when he told me the Superpros were on and still in good nick. RCF ones are sitting in the garage, they're stiffer than ISF bushings. Based on this old post they need to be pressed into the housing. Mind you my old front tyres had inner wear, the wheel alignment chap said he adjusted the camber but I'd read there wasn't much if any camber adjustment on the ISF? There must be some as the job sheet shows different camber before and after the alignment, albeit a tiny amount. Guess I will just need to monitor the inner wear closely.

I was still able to get a couple of new front MPSSs of the same size as yours at mycar (used to be Kmart Tyres) for $345 each, oddly they had them in stock at supplier for next day fitting but the PS4S were a week or so away, so there must be some around. I'm at Central Coast NSW. Other comments favourably on the PS4S but say they're a different feel. I have Falken Azenis FK510s same size as you on the back but they seem to wear quickly, they do the job and seem quite grippy but will look to replace with the MPSS to match front when the time comes if I can get a pair

Sorry drnick, I have an IS F so know nothing about the LS. A frequent poster on ISF thread Babalouie put me onto the Amayama site. And I've bought Brembo OEM rotors on US eBay many times cheaper that Lexus dealers quoted. Maybe the US Lexus forums have threads about software? eg this thread talks about the warning light if you scroll down, and some talk about Chinese replacements and converting to traditional shocks/springs which requires mounting hardware. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-4th-gen-2007-2017/858161-should-i-replace-or-convert-my-2010-ls460-sport-4pcs-rear-and-front-air-suspension.html Rockauto.com is another US based parts supplier, it has the Arnott replacement listed https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=7535980&cc=1434552&jsn=10412 but they are $948 each so you're still up for nearly $4K before fitting, the descrption though seems to suggest they're active? 'This new assembly replaces the O.E. strut and features a new, not remanufactured, custom-tuned shock absorber. The Arnott strut features a new heavy duty air bladder from ContiTech which is protected by an aluminum can along with a CNC-machined top mount and sealing cap made from aircraft-quality aluminum. This new air strut is assembled in the USA with Arnott's long-lasting seals, O-rings, bump stop, heavy-duty crimping rings, new air fitting and a dust boot to protect the shock.' and also has a fitting video Good luck they're a very nice comfortable car, I looked at one before going down the IS F path.

If you want Toyota genuine have you tried Amayama https://www.amayama.com/en, eg Aus eBay part number rear 4809050410 is $1619.61, goes up and down with AUD, so you're ahead of the dealer! Not sure if your dealer quote included fitting. If you don't want genuine there are these on eBay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rear-Air-Suspension-Spring-Strut-Fit-For-Lexus-LS460-LS460L-2006-2017-4809050410/153680305635?fits=Make%3ALexus&hash=item23c80f5de3:g:fLcAAOSwNlldntmT AUD1240 for two rears, fronts are AUD687 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Front-Left-Air-Suspension-Strut-Fit-For-Lexus-LS460-06-17-4802050270-4802050341/153827709369?fits=Make%3ALexus&hash=item23d0d891b9:g:feoAAOSwnmBdnuQZ

Hi, Now and then I get a CEL and the dealer traced the code to bank 1 (O2) sensor 2 - so drivers side rear. May as well replace both I figure as 130K km. I can get the sensors of eBay or Amayama no probs, they look easy enough to get to where they're on the Joe Z where it connects up behind the Novel headers. Understand need to WD40 the night before as they're usually a bit seized, care not to strip thread etc. But the connector is stupidly under the centre console (I think under around where the gear selector is, one on each side) which has to be removed to access. Has anyone removed their centre console, just want to gauge how fiddly and if there's bit that are prone to snapping etc. Or just leave to dealer and cough up labour (quote for parts/labour for one side was $680, knowing they're part price would be a lot higher though opposed to sourcing from internet myself). Have searched this and US forums but couldn't really find anything or on Youtube. Thanks

missed the decimal point yep even cheaper $15.87 and got a $7.95 refund for the one that shat itself too

Yep Daniel upgraded to RC F. I did a Bradbury to get the car - original sale fell through but I had flicked him a note to say 'I'm here' if sale didn't go through. Novel headers, Joe Z exhaust and intake, tune, throttle controller, Figs lower arm rear bushings, Superpro front lower control arm bushings. All I've done is replace rear tyres! I much prefer your colour. Someday I'll use the voucher for the track day at Eastern Creek I was given...

Looks great, the owner before me had a body shop fill in and paint the Wald spoiler into the boot and also raised the rear quarter panels for a uniform line. he also added the Wald rear diffuser, have to be very careful on my drive as the strakes a easily scraped and already have a bit of homemade 'chamfer'.. Also got these emblem door projectors off eBay after seeing them on a few forums and couldn't resist.$1587 for four (before I realised they're only in the front doors der). Just as well as one shorted out as soon as I installed it so had spares.

Fantastic very jealous... By the way saw your strut brace on the other thread - is it Tom's or another brand?
