Invitation To Lexus F-Club Event (Lexus Of Chatswood)

Recommended Posts

Anyone get an invite to the Lexus F-Club event for those who purchased from Lexus of chatswood (Email posted below).

I cant believe they're charging $795 for the event. They should be offering this FOC.

I remember back in early 2000, there were drive days where they supplied the vehicles. I dont think I'm going to use my car for the whole day at the track.. Just dont feel comfortable with this.

If you read further below, they may be proposing a super-cruise drive day. I'd be inclined to opt in for a cruise if the dealer is sponsoring it.

------------------------------------------------------------

You have been invited to join Lexus of Chatswood's Inaugural F-Club

Track Day at Eastern Creek Raceway.

Held in association with the Events O'Neill Burrows Drive Day, this event will be held on Wednesday 18th May 2011 at Eastern Creek Raceway from 8.00am to 5.00pm.

As an exclusive Lexus of Chatswood package, you will receive the following -

o An advanced driver education day providing one-on-one in-car tuition from professional instructors on the main circuit.

o PRE RACE INSPECTION* of your car to ensure it is track ready - includes brake & fluids inspection, replacement of engine oil with race grade oil, toe and camber wheel alignment, and suspension check and adjustment.

o POST RACE INSPECTION* of your car to ensure it is road-worthy including a car wash.

o Full Track support on the day with a Lexus Master Technician available at the Lexus Pit-Stop garage.

o Access to the track prepared CT 200h used in the F1 Celebrity Race Challenge.

o Fully catered event

o Lexus Cap

o And of course the most important aspect; having had a fun and enjoyable day!

Cost of the event is only $795.

In order to ensure every driver receives adequate track time, the day is limited to 20 drivers per driving group, allocated on a first come, first served basis. Allocations for the upcoming drive day will close on Monday 16th May or when filled.

To attend this event please reply to this email immediately or call Sid Cetindag on 9406 8388.

If you cannot attend this event please look out for future F-Club events including other track days and a proposed super-cruise drive day.

yeah i got the email too

a track day cost 200 to attend

795 is abit too much

I know it's a full day, with catered food and professional instructors.. But c'mon.. they could have been a bit moire leniant with the pricing. Lexus Australia should have helped with the sponsorship so that it wouldnt have cost as much..

They should have supplied the cars.. But can understand that it would most likely be a tad difficult for them to supply 20 ISF's for the day.

I dont even think my Insurance company would cover me for these track days..

Probably not worth the troubles. I'd even be happy if they supplied the CT200h's to drive on the track or any lexus car for that matter

Oh well, Im hoping they have the normal drive days I was accustomed to 8 or so years ago where they invited you to drive all the lexus vehicles around the track - free of charge..

Most decent drive days, certainly ones that are properly run, with instructors, are in the order of $400 - $500. So for the extra $295 you get 2 mechanical checks, and an oil change. If you look after your car this is pretty standard for a track day so what might seem expensive is actually reasonable value. Plus they will be on hand at the track to adjust tyre pressures and look after the car.

If you bought an ISF the only place you can use anywhere near its full potential is on the track. Give it a go , it will blow you away and you will be hooked. You will need to service the car more regularly and go thru brakes/tyres more quickly then you will want to start playing with it...

The ISF is built for the track and has no issues with a track day, you only run 20 min session at a time and unless you are a semi professional driver you wont be putting much additional stress on the car. Open the bonnet to cool the car between session and dont put the handbrake on.

A track day and doing laps with an instructor will also put your driving ability into perspective. You will learn a lot and be a safer driver.

Added bonus is the exotic machinery at the day and the O'Neill days are often attended by the distributors, the Ferrari 458 was there last year before the official Australian launch plus the only Pagani Zonda in Australia makes the occasional appearance.

I got into drive days 3 years ago and after destroying a BMW ( under warranty) bought the ISF becuase of its ability to take drop the kids at school on the way to the track and pick them up on the way home.

Its a great day away from the office, socialising with other car enthusiasts. All I can say is give it a go once and you will be back. The more ISf we can get over time the mre leverage we will have on price.

I was already booked for the drive day before the invitation came out. If you dont want the Lexus service etc go direct to the drive day organisers such as Events O'Neil or Driving Solutions.

Unfortunately, even if I wanted to go, it was a bit of late notice. Hope you have fun on wednesday. Be sure to take some photos when you're not driving of course:) and also to report back here with your findings..
