not sure how it is now in south korea but when I was there a few years back, there was hardly any japanese made or euro cars on the road so I'm quite surprise that you can get a Lexus there. How times have changed..

South korea has more imported cars than australia

and they have much wider range too

but BMW and Merc has been in business since 80's

I think it was around 2003. Back then I was told Koreans din't like Japs and vice versa so while we were stuck in traffic jam on a tour bus, every car I saw on the road was Korean made, and there was something about government subsidies if people buy korean made and import tax are high for imported vehicles and this was from the local tourguide!!.

Oh, and yes there are imports EVERYWHERE there, the parents' in law have a Merc S500 and a Discovery V8. Much more interesting imports over there than here.
