How much is the sard ECU?

Also what manual box will you run? Any idea how much power the IS250 6spd is good for?

Finally wheels on the ground.

Sorry MR2QIK. Most of the mechanical work was done by Danny so I don't really know much much the details. I do know that it wasn't as simple and direct as we thought it to be.

Looking Good

Looks like you have put some $$$ into this project.

I'm just trying to get my head around the reasons for the conversion, it must be the challange.

Or was the wreck a very cheap buy...

My point being and pardon my ignorance would it have been cheaper to buy an IS350 and go from there.

As a person who has done conversions before I appreciate the challenge and satisfaction gained from this sort of project.

Just curious on the reasons.

Thanks.

It's actually cheaper to go from a manual 250 since you already have all the parts required for the manual conversion. Manual kit from Sard costs about 15k all up which means I would rather get an ISF rather than purchase a 350.

My car also has an aero and various modifications which would also mean that starting from a 350 is not the best idea.

Danny.....if you read this, please do post sometime an account of what was needed for the swap along with any dramas.

yeah when i get time

but for starters u need extra fuel lines and such

if you have a 350 wreck its easy but its not as easy as

take out 2,5L and then drop in the 3.5L

^Cheers. I was thinking a bit more along the lines of wiring issues etc. Potentially more complex since the 350's came after some updates. The drop out & in is the "easy" part. Making everything work like factory is the harder part.

Is the fuel pump different? Do you know if the 250 AT is the same as the 350AT? I assume the diff is not the same.

Manboy, I'd be tempted to potentially do such a conversion oneday too as earlier model higher mileage IS250's aren't worth a huge amount. If you have the ability & resources to do the conversion & you get the necessary front cut/hardware for around $10k, the maths work out. Especially if you've already invested in the body. You can probably buy 2 x older IS250's for the price of an IS350 at the current market prices.

I'd be very interested to know the final $$$ invested, including the wreck and any third party labor once the project is complete.

Not so worried about your own labor as i believe it's a labor of Love...lol

Ok heres to clarify why this conversion went ahead

my brother has had his IS250 MT sports for 2 years now

it has alot of parts and various bits and pieces that i have donated and he has bought

Full ISF interior

F sports Brakes/sussy/wheels/ etc

and various other body parts

The reason for this conversion is

We want a IS350 manual. if he wanted a IS350 i could have gave him my IS350 DD which i am upgrading to a GS450H

and he loves the 2006-2008 shape more than the current shape

So...

as most of you guys would know modifying a car does not make sense at times

At this moment i think most of you guys will understand that this project is more passion and heart involved than money

Also being a manual to start off with you have all the gear thats needed (clutch pedals/Gbox/Lines etc)

and the chassis mount points are also different to the Auto vs Manual which makes it perfect for the final outcome

Also for your question Jason

fuel tanks are the same the 350 runs extra fuel lines due to the Direct port injection

If anyone wants to know more about the conversion pm me or talk to me on facebook

i just can not document the whole car conversion on here. not i have the time to write a book lol

Thanks for the Clarification, it makes more sense to me now.

Yes I agree if the Passion and Heart isn't there then the project doesn't even begin.

Good luck with it, love to see the end result.
