  1. 2" is like 3 fingers wide. I think at most 2 fingers wide on the rear would be good for me, that would be 1.5", however there is the sagging so 1" would be it. The distance from my fender to the rim (not tyre) is 12cm. How much is yours?
  2. That front and rear looks to sit evenly, but how would it be if the front is 1.6" and the rear is 1.2" ? The stock (for Prestige) have the front lower than the rear by 10mm (1cm or so).
  3. Wow 2.5" is like twice as much as i would want i would think. Would you know how low the drop is before you need to worry about cambers?
  4. Thank ProjestIS, i know the pics are all important and here are some, might be abit hard to see :( I think it may well be the pin on the steering arm...no where near the springs. Also, how hard will it be to replace the springs, and who would be best to do it? I'm thinking Front = 0.5", Rear = 1". I want to be conservative cos i'm not the only driver :(I What do u think? Wheels are 18x8.0 with offset +40 and 225/40 tyres.
  5. Ok so i just got 18s and the car is a Prestige with oem springs. When i look at the gap, it's not that bad but i want it lowered by a little. Looking for clearance, on the inside front their is a little pin (part of the assembly) that is around 2cm to the rubber. I'm thinking this is not part of the coils so i can safely lower the car by and the rubber won't rub against this pin right? I'll be putting pedders lows on, anyone know how much lowering this will be?
  6. Finally got my RS4 wheels at Tempetyres today. Silver on silver looks d e c e n t! they had to do a little machining on the PCDs but did care too much about the marks. Offset i was told was +40 which should sit out +05 more than the +45 oem 18s. Now looking to lower it, thinking 1" rear and 0.8" front.
  7. Boils down to individual tastes mate. For me, i feel the X rim with it's 5 spokes is a little "cheap" looking and not quite unique. What is also important is the quality and i feel Lexus wheels are that so yeh...it is only in the eyes of the beholder :) If the 17s sports lux comes in 18s it would have been easily the best choice for me. Otherwise the ISF's would be awesome. I have gone to Tempetyres for the RS4 wheel, PCD needs a little drilling but yeh looks alright..just need to find time to get them i suppose.
  8. Not a fan of the X edition. Either Rim 1 or aftermarket.
  9. Hmm wasn't expecting a GTI, rather a BMW or Merc. I'm sure it's a nice car the GTI, very different type of car to the Lexus. All the best nontheless.
  10. I must say, the styling is alredy pimpy. Show us some pics.
  11. ....but it might not be worth they money after the frieght costs.
  12. they are sold out of every colour other then silver... Hey it's my colour...that's it i'm driving to melb now...
  13. The sports suspension and oem 18s already make it a good investment. The car is just a bonus...:)
  14. Nice work, you should enjoy the car...a very good investment of $23K
  15. It would be interesting to know if the tradein value they quoted changes with the car you are to buy. Means, if the dealer say $52K tradin FOR $139K ISF. Would it still be $52K if you were to get a say a 250C (which is say $90K).
  16. It was stupid of me to actually tried this feat lol...i tried shifting the level in auto mode and it didn't work... not a 2009er.
  17. I don't know about bad luck as such, i think he (Lowndnes) isn't driving as aggressive as he has been during the enduro rounds last year. He was easily able to pass anyone at anytime during those enduros. Not sure why he's not trying so far.
  18. Wow is that u in the car? nice work man. I follow the V8s since the days of Ambrose. I don't know who will win the title this year but Whincup is well on his way...I'm not a fan of Tander, nor Ford after what they did to team vodafone. They say Lowndes was supremo during his Holden years, why is he so bad now?
  19. Ok so i'm a fan of it. More so now that there might be other brands coming entering into V8 racing soon. I can see the IF-F mixed with the ozzie 8s...come on Lexus!!!!
  20. I would say if i were in the market for a SL, and see your car, i'd buy it straightaway for 52K, silver is alot nice too. I think that's a a good trade-in value, but you are paying the difference of $52-$139K. That's where i think is the make or break deal. If you got abit of cash to burn, i'd say go for it, but blue? how about black?
  21. Someone told me the original pads are very hard and wears out the discs easily. My car is at 27K and i'm looking at the edges of the diss and they are quite worn.
  22. I got fined on the way home from the dealership after taking delivery of my IS! Had literally no idea I was speeding, I was too amazed at how silent and smooth the car was compared to the 05 Maxima I traded in. That's the thing i sometimes don't like about the IS, it's so smooth and quiet that it's deceiving interms of how fast you're going. you look outside and it looks like you're doing 60, when infact you're doing 80....
  23. What's the point of racing or even testing, with 50,60km/hr limits everywhere? Even if you win, your smile might will be quickly overwritten by a fine and some points off your license. Not worth it.
