I wanted a pearl metallic finish with deep specs. The current flat metallic finish just get hard and harder to get dust off. Perhaps not straight away but yeh, if i'm planning to keep the car for a while then i will think about a respray.

Hi all, i may have vented my disatisfaction on the paint finish of the IS previously (it's thin and looks non-metallic) but today i am really disatisfied after washing it. I am now thinking of getting my car resprrayed with this thicker, 3D looking paint. i know there is a name for it, is it Metallic Pearl? Does anyone know how much to do a respray?

silver is best i recon...or black.

On Sat just pasted at around 6:30pm, I was driving home turning right to Georges River Rd (from "Milton St) at Croydon Park, saw a silver 250 with oem kit following me but then heading staight (as i turned at the lights). I didn't knew the kit looked this good. Nice car to the owner :)

Im not happy with the fact that the car can start with the key outside. I hope this get addressed.

I think other luxury brands has this smart key feature also.

I didnt know the engine would start if the key was outside the car. My understanding was that if the doors are shut the key not inside, you can't start the engine. As for good place to put the key, i usually put it in my little coins pocket when wearing jeans. and yes always feel your pockets as you would with house keys when you go places. You are surely lucky to now loose your remote, i would imagine buy having just one you wouldnt feel safe cos the second remote is meant to be a backup.

Yeh, if you really really want the OEM unit, best to sell the car and buy another with one already installed.

I notice my czar downshifts alot from 4th - 2nd as well. I think the tranny knows what is best for each gear and do things accordingly. Should not not be any issues. Quad Cam V6 with 6 sp isn't your ave engine.

I take his comments as relating to the father-in-law. Perhaps he he should have said "I DO NOT" rather than "I DO" lol. Using a Car to attack someone is lame.

Luckily i don't drive too much, but still when i do and when it's 40C i want to be driving in 0C lol I hate the heat.

Does anyone know roughly at what Kms do we need to change our a/c gass. I know this is subjective cos it depends on usages but yeh when do u think it's time. Again, i can only compare the coldness to other cars and my Camry but the Lexus isn't "cold" when i use the a/c, even with Lo setting.

I don't really like soft leather. I notice in BMW E46s i think they don't have holes yet they have cooling/heating seats too. This is more preferred than the IS's

I think cooling is only on the seat part not on the backrest. Heating on the other hand is both.

The noise come about when you press Start (during startup) and when the needle spins right and back again.

Got my cluster replaced..not more noises. :)

I would sacrifice looks for a little noise, if i go 18s. Stockly speaking it's abit disatifying i would think, that said Dunlop tyres in the past has given me alot of thumbs up.

1) Side grill Lexus is more distinct (Lexus 1, BMW 0) 2) Side vents (indicator area) BMW is more distinct (Lexus 1, BMW 1) 3) From mirror forward Lexus is more distinct (Lexus 2, BMW 1) Everything else is pretty much the same everywhere on both types, excluding wheels and suspension. Not a bad level of change (side view) from Lexus for such a short time frame to make the Is-F, more than what i thought before doing this comparo.

Ok instead of hijacking other threads lets compare them here. Is the IS-F differ more than the M3 to their non sports cars.

Hmm im due for 18s upgrade so i might just put up with my mindset thinking it's the rubber that makes my Is as smooth as my Camry...lol how stupid does that sound? Before then i might go a check my tyre pressures, bet yah it's 40psi which i think is 4-5psi too high. To be quite honest with you there is something about the IS i'm not 110% satisfy with since the purchase. Weird isnt it?
