  1. Yes, it does automatically deactivate once the car is off. You wouldn't just activate it and leave it on because what it does is makes your car believe that it is stationary - your car wouldn't be moving on your satnav screen. It didn't cost any thing to have it fitted - it was done by my brother, and the process from start to finish was less than 2 hours. It's a true plug & play solution - no need to cut or solder any wires at all. It comes with step-by-step instructions, including how to remove your trims, satnav unit etc. I reckon a pro installer can do it in about an hour, and certainly no more than 90 minutes. To be sure of the quality of the installation, if you're going to get a pro to do it for you, I would go to a CAMS certified installer, although it is a bit of over-kill for such a simple job: http://www.cam.net.au/car-audio-installation-cam-shop-finder/ No, it doesn't allow external devices to be played. For that, you would need something like the VAIStech unit: http://www.vaistech.com/dev/mlp.php
  2. I've driven it around for 2 days now, and have activated/de-activated it at least a dozen times to test it out. No issues so far. Their email support is terrific. Before I purchased mine, I shot them half a dozen emails on a Saturday and Sunday, all of which were answered before the weekend was over.
  3. I purchased it from http://www.prestigio...om/?page_id=138 Note: 2010 models and after do not not require external button - just your steering wheel volume buttons. Pre-2010 do require the button as seen in the pictures of the above link. It was $US299.99 + $US45.00 shipping/handling to Australia. I am not affiliated with this company in any way.
  4. I have the Prestige Society module, which I had installed yesterday. The new module doesn't have any external buttons. To activate it, you hit (-) (-) (+) (+) on the volume buttons of your steering wheel. To deactivate, you repeat the sequence. I now have full access to my satnav, phone and DVD functions whilst in motion.
  5. Ah, you see, if you'd followed the entire thread, you'd have seen why wheel size and speedo became part of the discussion. The OP asked about the relative low power of the IS250 and its supposed high fuel usage. You (ilv1004s) mentioned that the weight of the car was the biggest factor of the fuel usage. Idc said that weight is a factor but he wouldn't put it as a primary reason (for the supposed high fuel usage). I said that I notice my fuel consumption increased substantially when I changed my tyre/wheel combo to larger ones. Sapphire Cam believes that the larger wheel/tyre circumference causes the odometer and trip computer think that you're travelling less kms than you really are (hence the discrepency). And so on.... It was a progression of the discussion; moreso related to the fuel consumption of a supposed 'weak' engine.
  6. Using the Miata.net website, comparing the 245/25-17 that I used to have to the 255/40-18 that I now have: This doesn't explain the big jump in fuel usage. A more plausable explanation would be the the new tires are wider with greater 'grip' and rolling resistance i.e. more friction, hence the increased fuel consumption. It would further explain Atlantis' fuel consumption figures.
  7. Might have something to do with your tires/wheels combo as well. I went from factory fitted 17" tyres/wheels to 255/40/18 & 225/40/18 (39 psi all 'round). Fuel went from 8.5L/100km to 9.4L/100km. Go figure.
  8. OP also made reference to the fuel usage of the IS250, for which the weight of the car becomes a contributing factor.
  9. I hope you're a member of Club Lexus - Sewells gives you quite good discounts if you are.
  10. That is correct. You can use any Toyota Whereis DVD maps. Latest is V18.
  11. I got 60km before my car began spluttering and I pulled into a service station.
  12. When you replace the battery, what are all the things that you'll need to rest? Windows / sunroof / exterior mirrors / seat memory / steering wheel / clock.... have I missed anything?
  13. That sounds very reasonable. Did they tell you what is involved? Is it done anything like what was posted in the original post of this thread? Did they tell you where they would mount the switch, and does it look OEM?
  14. i was thinking the same, but since not enough ppl PM, i thought ill do this to get it moving along.....take it off u think and leave it for PM? Definitely. Just leave your message in the thread; ask people to PM you for details to pay & for their details, AND you PM those who have already expressed an interest in purchasing the weather shields in this thread. You've got to protect yourself. i don't want to see you getting burnt whilst trying to do something good for this community.
  15. By courtesy of Korvan: INTRODUCTION It is possible to disable the warning chime that sounds whenever the driver or front-seat passenger unbuckles their seatbelt while the car is in motion. I find this annoying when entering the private estate where I live, as I have to unbuckle my belt for a long reverse into my driveway/garage. STEPS 1. Press the START button twice (without foot brake) to power up the system 2. Press the trip reset button couple of times until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B) 3. Turn off the system again by pressing START again 4. Unbuckle the driver's seatbelt 5. Turn on the system again (press the START button twice without foot brake) 6. When the dash lights come on, press and hold the trip reset button for about 10-15 seconds (possibly longer if it doesn't work first time) 7. While still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt 8. The odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF" (toggle this with the trip reset button) 9. Process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the system off The setting is retained until changed again (by simply repeating the process).
  16. Chris, instead of sorting it out yourself, why don't you take it to a pro? Go to anyone that's part of the CAM group - there are 21 indipendent CAM stores in Victoria: http://www.cam.net.au/car-audio-installation-cam-shop-finder/ Personally, I'm about to spend close to $4000 on my subwoofer upgrade.
  17. What? heaps of differences! Just look at that list I posted above your reply!!
  18. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/lexus-is250-2009-13191794 Sports Luxury model. It should have: - Sat nav - Radar cruise control - Sunroof - 13 speaker Mark Levinson system - Ability to watch DVD - Reverse camera - 4 parking sensors in the back, 2 in the front - Factory HIDs - Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) - Folding side mirrors with puddle lamps - Illuminated front door sills - Powered rear sun shade - Heated and ventilated front seats And that's just off the top of my head!
  19. Of the two that you presented, they are very similar. Do you want sat nav, blue tooth and reverse camera? Personally, I love these features in my car. However, what I don't like is that the climate control can only be accessed via the screen in cars with sat nav. You just need to go out and personally see which of the 2 you like more.
