  1. Ding ding! We have a winner! Good eye, Marvin!
  2. There's another guy up here in Brisbane who did these shots for me, his name is Ray. Let me know if you're interested and I'll PM you his details.
  3. He did 3 days of photoshoots for about 20 cars when he was here, it cost me $120 for about 12 shots (moving and stationary), and got both high resolution and low resolution ones. Next time he's up, I'll let everyone know! Sorry it just slipped my mind to post about it here.
  4. Over the Easter break, Clarence came over from Melbourne to do some photoshoots for cars. He's done a fantastic job!
  5. Donald, sounds great. Would be interested to see how much difference it is compared to the MY11/MY12 suspensions
  6. How much and where are you located?
  7. Will buy the intake and auto fold mirror kit off you this weekend if still available.
  8. Mine squeal a lot too, especially when the car is slowing down to a stop at low speed. I think it's just that the brakes are very noisy and emit a lot of dust, but they are brilliant on a track. So I'm not really that fussed :-) My car has only just broken the 14k km mark.
  9. Thanks for all those who turned up, it was nice putting faces to names. JoeZ exhaust Here are some photos:
  10. I'm still waiting for the HPS tube to arrive, but the AFE filter alone gives a bit more induction sound than the stock air filter, especially when cold.
  11. Yes it's a reusable filter. CEL = check engine light
  12. Haha I'm sure no one will mind if you park next to us. There's no discrimination against other models!
  13. I've gone the HPS + AFE dry filter route, pretty cheap and easy to install, no risk of CEL. Definitely better throttle response but no dyno results to confirm power increases.
  14. pedro, there is an ISF meetup in Brisbane this Saturday at 10am, Lexus Indooroopilly. A few of us will be there with our cars and we have a range of aftermarket exhausts which you can listen to in person. http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/11745-brisbane-isf-meet/?p=40627
  15. Fun on the skid pan: Laps (dunking at 2:22!) Photos:
  16. It went well, I had an absolute blast. A pity that it was bucketing down, so couldn't push the car as hard as I wanted to (you know how tail-happy our cars are in the wet). I had one close call where I oversteered off the track into a big puddle of water, which scared the hell out of me but the water was not high enough to damage anything. I had so much fun on the skid pan as it was the only safe place to really drive the car hard without fear of damaging anything. I'm signed up for the next track day on 21 April at the same venue (Holden Driving Centre at Norwell). There are still spots available if anyone wants to come and drive their ISF like it was designed to be driven! Here's the link: http://forum.downshiftaus.com/showthread.php?902-BRIS-GC-Downshift-Track-Battle-21-April-2013 I'm currently doing about one track day a month, so tyre wear is quite heavy and it means my servicing intervals are very short. I'm not one of those drivers who buys an ISF to drive it like a IS250, but at the same time I do treat the car well and make sure I service it very regularly. I'm probably up for new brake pads and tyres after only 15,000kms. I drove the car hard from 9.30am in the morning to 4.30pm the afternoon, and it held up very well - no brake fade, no engine overheating, it just ran lap after lap after lap. A testament to the gruelling tests that our cars are put through on the track when they were designing it. I had a lot of good comments from other drivers, especially on the sound that the car makes when downshifting in sport/manual mode (WOMPH! WOMPH!)
  17. Firstly, congratulations on your purchase, and I am sure you will be a happy Lexus customer. A well-maintained ISF will give you many years of reliable, stress-free motoring coupled with Lexus' great customer service. This is the first Lexus I've owned, and I'm very impressed with their product and service. I don't know about the JoeZ, but my Borla catback got less drony after about 500kms as the carbon built up in the pipes. If you cannot stand the drone, someone from the US eliminated the drone on his JoeZ by putting back the stock mufflers, but doing so reduces the power gains made from the exhaust. I reckon a swappable system is the best, allowing you to put the stock mufflers on when you need it to be quiet and for long trips, but put the JoeZ mufflers back for a track day or a mountain run. I'm in the process of getting my exhaust guy to fabricate something like this for me: Someone in US first did it and he said it eliminates drone from his JoeZ setup completely. I bought my car off the sales manager at Maroochydore who had already done the port matching on the vehicle. A good exhaust, the HPS silicon tube, AFE dry filter and PPE headers and I reckon the car will be significantly quicker. Also, think about the tyres. The tyres from the factory are quite narrow (225mm front, 255mm rear), you'll probably get more grip with fatter tyres. After that, I think that's about it before you start to really get into warranty-questioning territory by using nitrous or even forced induction (which no one has successfully done in a stable manner). I would also invest in learning the drive the car. I've gotten a good 10 seconds off my lap times by proper driving techniques and learning how the car handles at the limit. A stock ISF will already outrun most cars on the road, with a good driver behind the wheel it becomes an awesome track weapon.
  18. Interesting, I didn't know the ECU has already been cracked. This is big news indeed. Or are they just using a piggyback?
  19. The Toyota ECU ROM is encrypted, so unless some Sony employees move to Toyota, it will be very hard to crack (depending on the algorithm and key size).
  20. If I were Lexus I'd get prospective customers to come hear, it will be pure auditory pleasure. :-)
  21. Car has 13,000kms on the clock. Should I do an oil change?
  22. Great advice, thanks for that! Yeah I'm going to do my best and try to learn from it. There will be some professional racing drivers there so hopefully will get some coaching. Do you recommend driving in sport mode or with stability control completely off?
