  1. The car is now what it always should have been.
  2. Just tested the setup in the wet. I was looking forward to lots of wheel spin and sliding action. Well none of that happen actually quite the opposite I could not light up the VSC even when powering out of intersections, turning etc. I am truly blown away.
  3. Also. My biggest issue with normal street tires were is that on the track after a few laps they overheat an lose their grip nearly completely and after a few heat cycles they stay pretty much like that the Falkens did just that and they became really dangerous on the street especially in the wet they still had lots of thread but no traction at all.Tail was all over even at light throttle. VSC was lighting up all the time even around normal corners at low speed, so far with the new setup I could not light up the VSC under city driving conditions even when pushed harder, The advantage of the new setup is that this won't happen they will stay consistent.
  4. Normal road use seem just fine for me as I can't hear the extra noise it makes over my Borla anyway so no big deal. Will see about mileage. I have a mate who has these on an S2000 and got 10K out of them it really depends on your style. BTW do you still have the Super Sports? If you so do you want o sell them?
  5. What size did you go for and can I ask how much they were? Is that a new Tyre, Michelin Pilot + sport cup? 245/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear. yes it is the new Michelin. The whole set cost $1380.00 I feel it was a good deal. I am expecting around 10K out of them with a couple of track days. I will update this thread as we go. Can't wait to test them out on the track next week once the rain stops.
  6. Well I just got a new tyre setup today. Michelin Pilot + sport cup on the front and Toyo R888 on the back. So far only tried them on the street but I never felt anything like it. The grip is mind blowing it won't even chirp the tires at full tilt in second gear. Amazing setup. I had a guy work out the perfect size and setup for my car highly recommended.
  7. Hello Everyone, Decision time about new rear tires. Currently I run on Falken FK452 on the rear and front and found them quite poor of a performer especially on the track. Heard that the FK453 are much better?? Have done a bit of research on the topic and the Michelin SS are being recommended often but others are also using the Hankook v12 and seem quite happy with them. They are a lot cheaper and since I will be going through them fairly quick they might be a good option. Also the Pirelli Pzero seems to be quite good but have not seen much info on them relating to the ISF. I will be using them on the street and track. Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated. Cheers
  8. I second that, the brakes just won't fade even when pushed very hard not to mention the other parts of the car. This is the main reason I own the F not some other German sedan. However I have heard from other F owners that the Hawk options are just as good as the OEM if not better. Can anyone confirm this?
  9. Thanks I love the paint job too. First I wanted blue with white seats but in real this one has caught my eye.
  10. well for me there has to be the occasional track day, In my view this car was built for that not city traffic no point owning it if I don't have some fun. But that is just my view so there is my reason for setting it up and finding the sweet spot for city/track setup at a reasonable ongoing cost. The kidney crushing suspension pays off on track days:)
  11. was that with track use involved?
  12. Hello, Soon my F will be up for new rotors and pads. Since this is one of the most expensive parts on our cars I am shopping around a little as OEM parts are overpriced in my opinion. I was looking at getting the Hawk ceramic pads and rotors. Any experience on these? Recommendation, warnings? Cheers
  13. Here are some pics as well pretty much in order too:) http://streetfans.net/
  14. if you are referring to he video it's you the link is still there:)
  15. 10k seems really low. What are you getting out of your Pilots?
  16. Yes a friend of mine who runs an S2000 recommended the Toyo being a good compromise between street and track. What is the wear rate on these?
  17. Yes car help up brilliantly as expected. Tyres were Falkens but they are absolutely not suitable for track driving they overheat quick and lose traction easy. I guess you get what you pay for. The sidewalls on the tyres are week under stress which others have commented and I can confirm. One thing though. After the first session when I fired up the engine a large amount of smoke came out the exhaust which I have seen on this car before once on Top Gear as well when they first tested it on track. IS that normal? No smoke later just once.
  18. well got home in one piece. Had loads of fun. My tires were not really suitable and this was my first time on a track with this car so I had to learn how it handles but it is sweet as. The first session was all over the place second was OK. In third session I passed everyone. There was one Lotus giving me a hard time but could not catch me. The card handles very well throttle management seems key and found that it's better to turn sport mode off to be able to smoothly power out of corners. Brakes were excellent no fade at all. Tires were quiet bad though they overheated after a few laps and grip was significantly less hence lots of sliding. Funny first no one noticed the car but after the first session they gathered around:) Video was taken on 2nd session 3rd one was much smoother. It was a great experience I will do it again but with better tires. here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCUOQtJzl4c&feature=youtube_gdata apologies for the long beginning it was intended for friends only.
  19. what's the procedure to sign up please?
  20. damn! just booked my ticket to fly back from overseas on the 19th
  21. Fixed. Weird. I remebered that I tried to lock the car with another key fob inside the boot and it went pear shaped after so deliberatley did it again and it fixed it. I gues it must be some sort of a security feature but is very strange.
  22. G'day, I have been invited for a fun day at Wakefield park tomorrow. Does anyone care to join? I am on the north shore we could cruise together and have fun on the track. I will be taking it easy not pushing the car very hard just to have some fun that's all. It would be nice to see some other F on the track. Cheers
  23. Any one interested just to go for a spin casually?
  24. OK. It worked once today for no apparent reason maybe it liked the scenery:) I THINK it has something to do with locking or unlocking he passenger side. I think I locked the car using the passenger side handle and after that it would not open. It is set to only open the driver side. (atm it does not work on any side) however the boot opens OK. Go figure. Any thoughts?
  25. Hi All, I am having an issue with my ISF with the keyless entry function. It won't unlock the car when touching the handle the lights won't come on either when approaching the car. I can only unlock it by pressing the button on the key fob. I can lock the car by pressing the button on the handle. Tried all of the keys same result. Driving me nuts. Any suggestion are appreciated. Cheers
